In the states , no dot and dab. Your correct its mostly timber frame, screw the sheetrock or " drywall " or as you fellas say plasterboard. Then its tape coat, coat , coat all with joint compound or " mud" sand it paint it. it's common to find drywall installed over a block wall in a basement or whatever, but I've never seen it dot and dab. We will instal furring strips " 1x3 or 1x4 lumber " fasten those to the block then screw the sheetrock to that. Or just build new lumber wall studded out off the block. Obviously different approaches of insulation are used if done correctly but on older work, from 1950-1980. It's was pretty common to have no insulation and this would create a damp problem. That's how it's done here. Plastering looks way cooler wish we did it here.
Great vid. Not doing much plastering recently, mainly decorating. The gang of plasterers my firm uses are lovely blokes, lovable rogues, get the walls very flat with float and set, but the actual finish is awful. Ripples everywhere, misses, faces, so much filling coming in after them and there’s only so much you can do before you’re easy filling the whole wall
Definitely one of yer better video's ... Normal speed - Plenty of trowel-action - The Wobbly Head made me feel a bit sea-sick after a while 🥴😵💫 ... But You made a silk purse out of a pigs ear there ... Nice one 🤠
When the French re-built Notradam, they should've had you doing the plastering. Bet there was more angles in the job your on now, than Notradam. Dam fine job Mr Dam TV, who's better than you. Nobody....!
I use a speed skim to pull those angles straight. And a little bit of PVA around the inside of those holes stops the skim from drying and falling out .
Hi mate, I use the AKASO EK7000 4K30FPS Action Camera, it was about£60 from Amazon. I am looking to upgrade too now to something a bit better. I am looking at the Insta360 Ace Pro 2
