What Canon did is excellent point on ~ why you would ask?
Because every TH-camr is posting videos talking about this just like this upload. In 4-5 months Canon will give you more data and the cycle will repeat itself come on Fro you stay up at 12am making a video about the R1 without having an info.
I cant totally agree. People are talking but are they buying? I dont even think flagships sell that well. Its funny to see how concerned everyone is about a camera they wouldn't get.

Dude, we are getting sick and tired of this R1 talk and rumors and crap. Canon teases and then gives some crappy specs about the R1. Sony on the other hand just releases it. They never tease the A1 until the day of its launch.
You know what they say, if you have to ask the price, you can't afford it.

People predict these absurd prices every flagship camera launch. Lol people were saying the R3 was gonna be $8000. It came in at $5999. People said the Z9 was gonna be $9000 and it released at $5500. It's like you guys don't look at trends or anything. Canon is going to release this at $6500 just like they've always released their flagships at.

@@crshoveridethe very first EOS 1d was $8999-9999 depending on the country. Following cameras were 7999-8999and the then even eventually started dropping them at 6599-6799. So there’s a chance they just won make them as abundant and drop it at 6999-8999 for that early adoption tax. 😂
Makes sense. That was the price of the 1Ds in 2002 - the first full-frame DSLR. In today's money that would be over $13K. So not ridiculous at all.
DON'T BUY SONY LENS BOYS...buy 3RD party lens....save your money!!!!!!!!! use that money to travel and buy food for your kids.

My 1st camera was a Canon 30D back in 2006. I’ve wanted a 1-series camera for almost 2 decades. I think it’s time. I’m not a pro, but I’m very excited about the R1.
@@lucaschudleigh7193 Yes, because cameras today are ALL phenomenal compared to 20 years ago. I’m not a specs-chaser. The R5 is the best camera I’ve ever owned, it’s miles ahead of my old 5D4. If we extrapolate that out, the R1 is going to crush the 1DX2, which is an incredible camera.

R1 is a huuuuge jump, R1 is aimed towards rich professional sport photographers

Did Sigma fix the dust problem for the lens? I bought the Sony 20-70 f4 instead due to Sigma lens dust.
lol. I'm glad I'm not the only one who thinks the R3 eyeball thing is stupid. I turned it on once, calibrated it...didn't work that great, turned it off and left it off.
I called it...just another R3 situation...add the whole "Subscription based features" coming soon to the RF mount, and you have a good ol fashion "💩 Fest!" I will happily stay in the EF-sphere with all the amazing glass and DSLR bodies! 😉

I think we all get excited by the flagships as halo products. But how many actually buy the Sony a1 or Canon r1. We buy the r5ii, a7iv,the r6ii, etc.
I think the leaked specs from Adorama was for R3 II, which would be the direct response to Sony A9 III. So R1 will compete with Sony A1 and R5 II with Sony A7R V.
We've known the specs for this camera for several months now the ballpark what the specs are going to be. The R5ii is going to be 45mp same as the current R5 and the R1 is 30mp or 33mp. It's not going to be 45 or 50. Canon is sticking with just going all in on speed I guess. Which is further just proving that's what they wanted to do originally before they renamed the original R1 to the R3. We literally already know a R3ii isn't in the pipeline at the moment.
Yes, the R1 is going to be the R3mk2 since the original R3 was suposed to be the R1 😂

The R3, "not a flagship camera", was released at $6000. It would be odd for the R1, a "flagship model", to be released at the same price. Of course, 2.5 years after release, the R3 sells for $4500.
To me the specs that are out there for the R1 it's more like a R3 mark ii than a flagship.
@@answeris4217 Yes, though the R3 basically was a Canon flagship camera following the mold of the 1DX. And it was in the flagship price range established over the past decade.
@@UnconventionalReasoning I always thought of the R3 as what the R6 is to the R5. A lower pixel rate camera for the Prosumer.
To me a Flagship today needs to at minimum compete with flagship cell phones... They should all have SIM card slots with 5K so they can be linked directly to their editing office so they can publish a fully decked out picure on their website within a few minutes.
Or even a short 8K video.
Cameras especially the top of the line need to be the best workflow out there not just the best picture.

R3 was priced to milk early adopters for pro level camera, and they say it's not top pro to leave space for R1.
Typical Canon development announcement. I suspect the R5 Mk2 will get a full announcement at the end of May and then a full R1 announcement after the Olympics. Just my thoughts... Excited for both cameras.
Price will be not less than the D1xIII = ca. 7500€ .
The first camera i purchased myself was a Nikon D50 and i was like WOW! This is brilliant. I think if i had the sony a7iii back then my head would’ve popped 😂

Canon needs to try and repeat the success that was the 1DsMkIII, which was the best camera on the market for about half a decade in a time period when digital camera technology was advancing the most rapidly.
Which means I want Canon to make an R1S with a 100MP sensor, but still keeping fast enough readout speed to eliminate the mechanical shutter.
They cannot even make a flagship camera with a 45-50mp sensor like everyone else... 100mp maybe, but it's not going to be so fast. That's incredible amount of data it would need to write on a card.
@@urosjovanovic3142 The pixel pitch of the R7 would already make an 85MP full frame sensor, and that's still using Canon's old fabrication.

Tony said that the R1 is 30MP and can shoot 240fps... and prerecording so....
This is what Adorama put on their website this week and then removed.
adrorama had the image sensor at 30mp and 120fps up to 240 in a 1 sec burst, 1 sec of preshooting. Stacked bsi.

@@answeris4217 That is a good question. But I haven't heard anything about an R7 update and some information is suggesting the R10 may diverge from the R7 in certain aspects. So I am waiting to hear more information. I am still using my SL1 and the R10 would be a good jump. I want something that is more pro-summer than the R50. But I am not sure I need everything the R7 offers. This will be a supplement to my phone for when I need abilities that lie outside of what my iPhone 13 Pro (and eventually the 16 Pro) can provide.
@@PWingert1966 I just bought a R8... It's more than enough power for what I need it for it just lacks IBIS which for me isn't a huge deal because I mostly shoot video's.
I was debating over that and the R7. I stil think the R8 was the right call.

I mentioned when the R7 was announced that I hoped it had 2 processors just like the 7Dii to help shift the large files, and nail Auto focus. What did get, well not quite a 7Dii mirrorless successor !
This R1 I believe is going to just good enough in all aspects against its peers. Which will lead the way fir the R1 mkii in 2 or 3 years time as canon need to keep customers not push off to nikon or Sony !

Canon thinks far too much of themselves to put out a competitive price...more like 7k.
The @OrdinaryFilmmaker reported that there is a good chance that certain features on the R1 regarding the AI aspect will be subscription based services only.

The AI accelerator chip is just there to phone home to Canon to make sure your “AI subscription” is active.
If they have subscription services in regards to the operation of the camera…I’m out.

The price of the R1 is almost irrelevant at this point. It has to be a superior camera, setting new technical and qualitative standards. $5,999 or $6,300 is not a big deal if those expectations are fully met
That's the question. The reason why Canon never brought forward a R1 flagship during all the past years, and why such had been delayed again and again, is obviously: It wouldn't have been competitive, it would have been dead from day one of its release. The competition was already pulling ahead, while Canon was still developing.
So we are all curious, if this time it will be different for the first time, or, if allegedly leakages were in fact only wish-list rumors, where half of them don't materialize in the end 🤔
If I had the money for a "pro" camera I would probably end up with an R5 mark ii when it comes out. The specs that are "leaked" don't really make me super exited about the R1... I am not trying to focus in and shoot an F1 car or going to a PGA event trying to figure out what club a player is playing with mid swing or you know trying to catch a bullet in focus when it's flying straight at me.
But.... Maybe I would like to someday have one of my products on a giant billboard in the middle of Time square... And that tiny 30Mp camera is beat out by their APSC censor R7
Actually everybody know basic specs of new Canon R1. 30MP FF stacked DGO sensor, 1/1250 flash sync speed (with no HSS), no mechanical shutter, faster sensor read-out than R3 or FX3 (probably faster than 3ms), highest dynamic range (mirrorless camera segment), AI AF with tracking subject even when is out of frame or behind something. 1 sec. pre-burst etc. We do not know the battery life (but should be great because of form factor) and probably just still/video switcher (no cinema camera menu for video as R5C or C70).

I know plenty of Pros that use 3rd party sony glass and do fine. Its total nonsense to say you have to use the sony if youre a pro.
If youre doing true magazine type shoots you likely something not covered on channels like this...like hasselblad.

@@27photogger hard to edit files, and little downsides that make people debate before buying it. I have the R6 ii and I love it, but there's always a little annoying cannon issues
@@dubbleA100 I mean Canon released the 1dx line cameras at $6500 and those still had the cripple hammer. Canon is known for this which is why they don't provide clog 2 in their pro-sumer line cameras so they don't cannibalize their cinema line cameras. Raising their prices isn't gonna make them not cripple a camera. They've been known to do this for decades now.
Any word about the "Soon to be realeased - as in July-August" R10 Mark II?

There's no way they're releasing an r10 mark II. The camera only released a couple of years ago. They typically refresh cameras after 4 years. Also, I've never heard of an r10 mark II. Whoever started that rumor might be doing some wishful thinking.

@@usernamemykel I wouldn’t recommend it without knowing what you plan on using it for, but I just bought one myself to use for sports photography. It’s a very impressive camera for less than a grand (even more impressive when you use the fastest memory cards)

Guys as long as a camera is not officially announced, it is under development. What’s the deal, it says nothing about the stage of development there in. What surprises me is the Price for RED. Means the EBITDA is between 6-7 Mio $. That’s nothing. So I guess it was even negative and they just paid the price for the patents. So great deal for Nikon 👍

Price between $6499-6999. Can't see why they'd price lower than the A1 which was priced the same as 1DXIII and D6. I doubt they will chase the Z9's lower price.
R1 is not in the same class as a1.
