It's horrifying. At the present, we are transforming the entire education to teach a religion, and religion that offers nothing useful to the individual nor society. Unfortunately, many students do want to learn about identity politics and want alternative views to be banned. It is terrifying how quickly universities have been captured. Cases like these are incredibly important. Typically with crowd funders like this, the average donation is £25. If you can afford to donate, it is very empowering to be part of reestablishing free speech.

I studied and gained my degree with th OU in the days of Summer School. The tuition and course material was first class. However, the lefty attitude and what is now called woke made me very glad to to get away from the residential parts. It was more than oppressive.

Every subject had to do with gender ideology, critical race theory, feminism, class struggle., They literally had lectures marxist lecturers critisising capitalism and extolling communism. They would have non-binary poets as examples of the different genres and refer to them as 'they'. The digs at Western culture were constant, from derating the virgin Mary and make a femminist symbol to defend Islam on gender issues. The worst part is that I learnt very litttle about English or Literature and had to folk out a lot of money.

As an OU undergraduate I applaud her! I am studying philosophy and have certainly noticed the curriculum guides you to thinking in a certain way when it comes to political issues but gives you much more free space to think when writing about non-political philosophy. Wokeism and it’s ‘academic’manifestation of critical theory, is in my view, pushed by people in very powerful places and with a lot of influence to destabilise society. The end goal? Who knows? Possibly the destruction of the nation state and the establishment of a global government eventually after enough engineered crises.

I was a STEM student at the OU until very recently. They found out about a criminal conviction from my past and a faceless board decided to pull me from my chosen degree (after 4 years). I was then told I could I could pick another degree but, only from the same restricted prospectus given to rapists and murderers serving life sentences. (So much for reeducation and rehabilitation). Anyway, my local bricks and mortar University was more than happy for me to join them, so sod the OU.
And meanwhile this pseudo conservative government does absolute nothing to stop this ridiculousness. Indeed the silence from this Tory government on a whole range of cultural issues is almost deafening

I was a STEM student at the OU until very recently. They found out about a criminal conviction from my past and a faceless board decided to pull me from my chosen degree (after 4 years). I was then told I could I could pick another degree but, only from the same restricted prospectus given to rapists and murderers serving life sentences. (So much for reeducation and rehabilitation). Anyway, my local bricks and mortar University was more than happy for me to join them, so sod the OU.
So, this so-called inclusive institution discriminated against you. That's not right.
And yet they are promoting paedophilia.

I loved the courses and summer school with the Open University. But that was back in the early 90’s. Even if I could afford to do so now, I wouldn’t study anymore through the O.U. Like everything else that was good, it’s f**ked.

This lady is in no way against trans people. Her job was neither to promote nor to suppress but to guide her students to see the different opinions and still highlight how the law sees these issues. The OU appears to have prevented her from doing her job.
This is such a shame. I did a degree with the OU in the 1980s and it changed my life enormously. I did mostly physics and maths, but I'd bet the EDI people have got their claws into that area too!
