Jason Stroemer glad to know this video helped! Happy Motoring!!!!
I have a problem with a 2005 ranger by Polaris. So it will not start I can spray a little starter fluid in the filter and it will run and burn them fumes. And then after that it will shut down like it's not getting any fuel. Is there anything that I can do or check to see what the problem may be? I would really appreciate some education on this situation.
You need a new fuel pump.
How do you grease the hub.
Whats the axle nut torque spec?
where did you get vice gripp slide hammer
I do not remember if it was snap on or matco, however there is an adapter that fits on to the end of the slide hammer that your can screw into a vise grip. Most kits come with this adapter. I hope this helps! Happy Motoring!
I also know harbor freight has these units.
Make one with a piece of threaded rod
Forgot beveled washer under castle nut. Not too good.
Crap, after doing this job a few years ago I now need to go back out to the location of this thing and take it apart to verify.!
I bought a slide hammer and it cracked the race in the original joint and never did get the cv off the shaft. I bought z new axle and it wouldn't take the cv joint off of it either. Dont waste your money on a slide hammer because they only damage the axle.
OK ya didn't even replace the AXLE you only replaced the boot.
I just replaced the CV Axle, and the boot. At the time this video came out you were not able to purchase the entire axle assembly for less than 500 dollars! It was crazy, so we did the cv portion and the boot. I think there are better videos out there with how to do the complete video.

My axle joint will NOT come off. Hammered on it for an hour and it didn’t budge. This video will just mislead other idiots like me into thinking they can save some money. BUY A NEW AXLE and save yourself so much frustration and the cost of the boot kit.
I am sorry that this video caused you so much frustration. When I made this video originally there was no option for a complete axle assembly and if you could find one it was from the dealer at $400 dollars. Where the boot kit was more affordable. Sorry bud.
Don’t even try to disassemble, total waste of time, replace entire axle and save yourself hours of frustration
Getting an entire axle is awesome! When i made this video they were not available.
You should try to shoot this video again and maybe in a darker place. Got to show people something put some light to it
Just for you I’m going to film it in the dark.
But I will have night vision goggles on
But you won’t :)
Thanks for the feedback we have better lighting in our newer videos. I am just trying to help you.
For free ;)!
@@Revitauto nice customer service. I'll be sure to leave that in your review. Honestly was just trying to leave you some advice especially on your video taking. You have a nice day
@@chrisburton9659 I appreciated your feedback and I always try to put a little humor in there.
Sorry if it rubbed you the wrong way.
Make it a great day.
@@Revitauto completely understand. I took it the wrong way. I went and changed my manpon and got over it. I do appreciate the humor. Have a good one
Thanks very much, was about to give up....I guess I should have watched this first!

OK, this says it's how to remove & replace an axle and boot. But the axle was never removed, just the outer joint. What about the inner joint?
John Dough before you get too grumpy old man (your profile photo). The video description States CV axle removal which is what we replaced the CV joint attached to the axle. If you are looking to remove the entire axle as an assembly what you'll do is pull straight out on the axle shaft. If you have everything else removed / this video all you have to do is get the axle pass to see clip I have a video showing how to remove an axle on a Mazda 626 which is a similar process to this end describes and shows the axle C clip. If we have to do another one of these I'll be sure to videotape it and send you a link Happy Motoring
Thanks.
John Dough I thought we said not to get grumpy.
"Thanks" is grumpy?
John Dough one word response is for sure. I am also reading all of your posts in the puppets voice . Just poking fun at you.
This is a fantastic video.....thanks for posting.
Thank You Tuan, I hope it helps you keep your rig working. Happy Motoring
Great Vid, was def a big help!! Where did you get ur cv metal guards from?
Hey Ben, really happy to hear that your repair was easier because of this video! I am not sure where the guards came from. It was equipped when it was purchased! Happy Motoring- Blair
How is final axes torque done when you have newer solid aluminum wheels>
Thanks
I am not sure about that one, I would use a torque wrench and then check with the factory service manual on torque specs. Sorry I cant be more help there! Let me know what you do! Happy Motoring- BLair
My aluminum wheels still have a plastic center cap that knocks out from the rear. If yours doesn't you can wedge something between the lug studs and the ground, or have someone inside apply the brakes.
how do you know when the axle and boot are going bad? Thank you
An axle boot will get hard, crack and start splitting. At that point, you know you will be having boot failure. Most of the time on these Polaris UTVs and ATVs you get a stick through the boot before it gets old enough to split and fail due to age. . Happy Motoring!
Bad method , if its stuck you'll wreck the other booth and the retaining ring on the other side. Plus some models have a circlip that you have to spread like on a polaris sportsman rear axle.
Hay spaz 000 that cv has a SNAP RING holding it together have to remove it with Snap Ring players.
@@couchrider6228 Yeah yeah thats what I meant, I am Canadian and we call them circlips here in Quebec, just a different name, same thing.
