P.S. Atlanta has a HUGE and thriving film community, debatably more so than L.A. these days. Digital technology and the like has opened up massive filmmaking opportunities in numerous states across the country.

In today's day and age with Skype, etc., I'm living proof that one doesn't *have* to move to L.A. in order to make a feature with a budget. Grew up in Ohio, moved to L.A. area initially to act in film, few years later moved to Northern CA, found myself more and more behind the camera, made frequent trips to L.A. (since I had established contacts and friendships there), however, was blessed to shoot my first feature-length film in 2016 (not released yet) with name talent, but had previously moved to Northern CA. Yes, the shoot was in Southern CA (Thousand Oaks), however, my family and I reside in Sonoma County.

Did he get support from family or did they try to talk him out of it? When will we learn more about the interviewer?

I have lived in the LA area all my life and have been pursuing filmmaking for 10 years now and let me tell you it hasn't gotten easier with living here or the advancements of my knowledge I've obtained over the years. Not to discourage anybody but this industry has become crazy over saturated. The good part is everybody wants to be the next Steven Spielberg and the next big director or DP, but there are so many other areas in the industry you can be successful at and if you keep that in mind you can probably make a dent in this industry, which a dent is a big deal in this industry.😎

Hi, when are you going to upload the full Wendy Kram interview? I’ve loved all her clips and when you interview female screenwriters in general. It’s inspiring to see long form interviews like this from women. Thanks!

You moved to LA to do nothing but short films? Couldn't do that in NY?

Thank you for watching! He made a feature film that is on Netflix and has another feature arriving shortly. This was after he arrived in Los Angeles.

I grew up in Ohio, however, did my college internship for a quarter in L.A.... and that was the year of the massive Northridge quake, that was around 20 minutes-ish from where I was staying in Studio City... I braced myself in bed against the wall, understanding CA was associated with quakes, however, kept thinking, "How long is this gonna last?!" Turns out it was the biggest one in that area in a number of years!
