(We rest our case).

Why does MSNBC find it necessary to recycle old audio to provide filler? I would like to hear Mr. Weissmann and Ms. Murray address Justice Gorsuch's suggestion that the Supreme Court will be writing a decision for the ages. Will it be a decision that will come to be regarded more like Dred Scott or more like Brown v. Board of Education?

If the Supreme Court would only do its job properly (i.e. decide on matters of law only) then the outcome would be simple and immediate: no person can claim the cloak of office for immunity from breaking the law. Without an overseer (the Constitution, the law, etc.) to define their powers, the gaggle of children playing justice would allow the nation to run amok. We can do without that. Bring back the adults in the room.
If the Court was not crooked they would have upheld the 14th Amendment, Section 3 and disqualified Trump from ever holding public office again. That was a clear cut, easy, layup for them and they choked on it. This Court is far less than worthless.
Trump agrees with you. He is using reverse-psychology on Democrats. Trump wants SCOTUS to rule AGAINST him. It's the last thing Trump needs to do before he starts arresting the Russia-hoaxers, etc.

The average American only makes $1.7 million in income over their LIFETIME. That's 30% less than the $2.4 million Justice Thomas failed to report to either the IRS or the Chief Justice, who must make the disclosures public! Try not reporting that lifetime of income to the IRS and you’ll end up like Wesley Snipes. The whole lot of "gifts" should have been timely reported to Chief Justice Roberts and the forgiveness of the $250k RV loan certainly qualifies as reportable income for tax purposes.
The current Supreme Court is not there to decide critical Constitutional questions that come before it, it is there to rubber stamp MAGA issues. It should not be this way, but that is what it has become. Gorsuch should not have been on the court because that was a position that Obama should have filled and Alito and Thomas should not be on the court because by all rights they should have to recuse themselves and about half the issues that come before them.

I'm not a lawyer but I have this burning question. Since the Constitution declares the equal separation of powers, and no one branch of the federal government has authority to dictate to another branch of government what it should or should not do, then how can the Supreme Court which is under the judicial branch of government have authority to dictate to the executive branch of government in terms of this immunity issue?
The courts are trying their best to get this buffoon back in office. America needs some serious therapy.

This issue exposes how ALL rulings of courts need to be measured against the Preamble as to justice, domestic tranquility nor to Form a more perfect union. Thomas in his ring does non of that and is thus in rebellion to the Constitution of the United States and could be argued is invalid as a disqualifying activity through Section 3 of the 14th amendment
