    Thank you Rolando. Please show the brown box. My 5200 UC Voyager did not come in a brown box. It came in a black charging case. How do I know that the charging case is fully charged? How do I know that that the ear bud is fully charged? What is the time span for the charge? This ear bud is brand new. Why isn't the mute button working? Does it have to fully charged to work? Is it a faulty unit? How do I know that I was sent what I bought? There is no 5200 UC Voyager imprinted on the devise or the charging box and no invoice or identifying paperwork like a warranty statement of instructions were included when it was shipped to me from Amazon.

      Victoria,
      Love the questions!
      How do I know that the charging case is fully charged?
      Poly has recently released an new design on the charging case so I will give you responses based on the older design which is what most people have.
      The plantronics charging for the Voyager 5200 has 2 rows of LEDS on the outside of the charging case.
      The lower row has 3 LEDs that light up blue. When all 3 LEDs are lit it means the charging case has a full charge. Press the button on the front of the Plantronics 5200 charging case to see the LEDs light up.
      How do I know that that the ear bud is fully charged?
      If you insert the Poly Voyager 5200 headset into the inside of charging case you will now have 2 series of LEDs that should light up. You will also know which LEDs pertain to the Voyager 5200 headset because it will have an icon of a headset next to a row of LEDs. If all 3 LEDs light up blue you know you also have a full charge on the Voyager 5200 bluetooth headset.
      What is the time span for the charge?
      It typically takes about 90 to fully charge the Voyager 5200 bluetooth headset.
      This ear bud is brand new. Why isn't the mute button working? If the red mute button on the Voyager 5200 headset is not working I would highly recommend that you download the PLT Hub mobile app on your phone. This will help distinguish the mute button and status for it. Additionally you can activate "mute" notification that will remind you when you are mute with audible "mute on" "mute off". If after going through that you still find that the mute button is not working it is possible that something is not working with your unit.
      Does it have to fully charged to work? No. You do not need a full charge for any features to work on the Poly Voyager 5200 UC. As long as you don't get a "low battery" status on the headset you should be fine.
      Is it a faulty unit? Again check out the PLT Hub mobile app and see if maybe some of the buttons have been disabled by accident and check out the prompts and notifications so that you can better determine the root cause.
      How do I know that I was sent what I bought? When you pair the Voyager 5200 to the PLT Hub mobile app you will get all the details pertain to your headset. This will confirm the model, firmware version, serial number etc. With this information you will know exactly what you bought. And it will also help determine if you unit is still under warranty and available for replacement by Poly.
      Let us know if you have further questions. I have placed a link below to the Voyager 5200 UC with images on Amazon so that you can check out what normally comes shipped with a brand new unit.
      Thanks for watching and sending your questions!!!

    Hi, I am using the Plantronics Voyager 5200 UC. It is working great with my laptop but when I pull up the Plantronics hub it says no device connected. I have restarted my laptop and unplugged the dongle. How do I get the Plantronics hub to detect my device. I would like to be able to see the battery life.

      Don,
      😃 Thanks for watching our video. 🙌🙌🙌
      Here's a comprehensive list of voice commands for the Plantronics, as well as iPhone Siri and Google Android phones.
      You cannot add or modify the voice commands. Below are several of the voice commands available on the Plantronics Voyager 5200. You can also say what commands are available. Additionally you can interact with the voice commands on your mobile phone using the voice assistant (Siri, Google Assistant, Alexa, Cortana, etc). When you're able to do that you can do a whole lot more on your mobile phone.
      Plantronics Voice Commands:
      "Answer"
      "Cancel"
      "Check battery"
      "Ignore"
      "Pair mode"
      "Redial"
      "What can I say?" (Using this command will give a list of all the voice commands you can use.)
      Siri, Google Assistant, Cortana Press and hold the Call button for 2 seconds to activate your phone's default voice assistant. Wait for the phone prompt to activate voice dialing, search, and other smartphone voice controls.
      Note: To use your mobile phone's voice assistant, please make sure that the voice assistant is enabled on your phone settings.
      iPhone Voice Commands:
      When Voice Control is turned on, you can say commands such as the following:
      “Open Control Center”
      “Go home”
      “Tap item name”
      “Open app name”
      “Take screenshot”
      “Turn up volume”
      To learn more Voice Control commands, go to Settings > Accessibility > Voice Control > Customize Commands, then tap a category.
      View a list of iPhone commands:
      To see the full list of Voice Control commands, follow these steps:
      Go to Settings.
      Select Accessibility, then select Voice Control.
      Select Customize Commands, then go through the list of commands.

    MacBook does not have a "dongle" port... will the Bluetooth setting work well enough?

    • @WhatTheTeckShow
      @WhatTheTeckShow  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Great question. We use MacBooks in our office and they are unreliable with Bluetooth connections. You can listen to a podcast, music, or listen to an online meeting and it may work well for that. But when it comes to two-way communication is when you're going to experience problems (with native blue tooth connection) when you have to conversations.
      It also becomes unreliable when you have to move around your MacBook. Hope that helps. Let us know if you have further questions.😃

      Eujon,
      The Plantronics 5200 UC can do multipoint connectivity. Which is what you are looking to do.
      According to Plantronics : Multipoint technology enables you to pair and connect your headset to two different Bluetooth audio devices at once. Note that you will not be able to use two devices simultaneously; instead, the benefit is that you will be able to answer an incoming phone call from either device using the headset.

      Thanks for watching 🤩🤩🤩.
      This all depends on the app. I have been able to force the Bluetooth headset to connect if I connect the Plantronics Bluetooth dongle to the mobile phone.
      I have not tried the Facebook app using it in this manner so you will need to go ahead and try this and see if the Facebook app works with this workaround.
      You will need a USB adapter to get the Plantronics dongle plugged into your mobile.
      If your mobile has a USB c port then all you need if a female USB-A to USB-c. You can find these on Amazon for around $10.
      Let us know how that worked out for you.

    Hi there.
    Does the Voyager 5200 mute the mic when using MS Teams on Android?
    Thanks

    • @WhatTheTeckShow
      @WhatTheTeckShow  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      The *Plantronics Voyager 5200* will not mute MS Teams on Android. If you run Teams on a PC and use the Plantronics 5200 UC with the Bluetooth Dongle (BT600) you should be able to use the various call control functions. If that is something you want to do make sure that you also *download the Plantronics PC app - Poly Lens* to your computer to activate "teams mode". Let us know if you have any other questions.

    • @WhatTheTeckShow
      @WhatTheTeckShow  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      How do I pair a Plantronics Bluetooth headset to my iPad?
      To pair your Plantronics Bluetooth headset with your iPad:
      On your iPad, press Settings > General > Bluetooth.
      If Bluetooth is turned off, tap to turn it on. The iPad automatically searches for your device.
      Place your Bluetooth headset into pairing mode.
      When you see your Plantronics device name, tap it to pair and connect.
      If you are prompted for a passkey, enter "0000" (4 zeros). NOTE: Do not be alarmed if you are not prompted for a passkey, because not all headsets require it.
      You should see your headset name with a status of Connected (e.g., "1xxPlantronics Connected"). Your headset is now ready to use.

      Use the new Poly lens app. Download it to your mobile. Pair your Plantronics Voyager Bluetooth headset to your mobile and make sure your mobile has Bluetooth turned on. Once you go inside the lens app you will be able to change the language of the Bluetooth headset. If it does not happen from the simple menu options then you will want to do a reset of the Plantronics Voyager headset. You can do this through the mobile app. Let me know if that helps.

    I have as PLT Legend Voyager 5200. Until recently I was using it with DragonNaturally Speaking 15 without any problems. Firmware is current, v.110, it's paired to the PC and sees the Plantronics Hub. In Device Manager it's showing up under Bluetooth devices, but not appearing under Audio Inputs and Outputs. I'm not using it with a phone and only want it as a microphone to use with DragonNaturally Speaking. There used to be a setting that had to be OFF so that the headset would not look for a SoftPhone; I cannot find that setting in the Plantronics Hub including Special Mode Settings. Can you offer help or ideas? It's as though the computer knows it's onboard, but doesn't want to add it as a PlayBack Device. Could this be a comm port setting, in or out? Is there a way to reset the headset to factory settings? Does the Plantronics Hub Softphones & Media Settings need a particular setting? Thanks in advance for your help.

      @@WhatTheTeckShow Thanks for the quick reply. Initially, I had the device connected Bluetooth only and it worked forever like that. Initially it worked for a bit (less than 10 seconds) but doesn't seem to stay on.

    • @WhatTheTeckShow
      @WhatTheTeckShow  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      For the sake of this test make sure that you do not have the 5200 connected to your mobile or any other device. There is also a little button on the side if that dongle go ahead and press it for a few seconds to reconnect. Also download the Plantronics Hub app to your mobile this will also allow you to further check the pairing to the dongle and see if it staying connected. Lastly also try to keep your dongle within line of sight of the headset. If the connection only drops when moving away from the dongle this means your connection to/from the dongle is going down.
      I other option I would also check out is the Plantrbicd app for the PC. This can also ensure that your single is chosen as the preferred audio device for your microphone and check the firmware version on your dongle. Give those options a try and that all fails we can work on a few other things.

    when I am on the phone, my headset losses connection- I cant stand this headset- I to know why

    • @WhatTheTeckShow
      @WhatTheTeckShow  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Brian,
      Thanks for sharing that question. This is more common than you think.
      There are several reasons why this happens.
      1) Environment - If you have multiple Bluetooth devices that are on but not connected to your device you may have interference from other Bluetooth signals. This will cause your connection to drop. Bluetooth devices all fight over a small narrow slice of the frequency spectrum.
      2) Bad Bluetooth antenna - not all Bluetooth devices have the same chipsets and components. And the small teeny Bluetooth antenna placed in the wrong location can easily be blocked by your hand or body. This lowers the signal strength which in turn causes the connection to be dropped.
      3) Mobile Phone and headset- depending on your mobile phone and the version of Bluetooth that you have You may find that the connection cannot be kept up and alive. Low cost headsets can have very spotty Bluetooth capabilities. The more established well-known brands tend to invest more in research and development. This generally means that you're going to get a better product than some no name device that are low cost on Amazon. Additionally the more established brands will also have the ability to upgrade firmware on the Bluetooth headset. This will allow you to get the latest and greatest version and repair any bugs that are usually encountered with the release of new mobile phone firmware.
      If you want a better illustration of some of these topics I have a video on this. See the TH-cam link below : th-cam.com/video/SHlutdYL9oQ/w-d-xo.html

    • @WhatTheTeckShow
      @WhatTheTeckShow  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      First..have you downloaded the Plantronics Hub app to your Galaxy phone? If not please go ahead and do so.
      After you have downloaded the app to your phone check that you have the latest firmware in your Plantronics headset.
      You can do so by pairing the Plantronics 5200 UC to your Galaxy Note phone. When you open the Plantronics app and your phone is paired it will immediately check for the latest firmware version.
      If a new firmware is required it will take about five minutes to push the new update to the Plantronics Voyager 5200.
      Once you have done that test a few phone calls and see if everything is working okay.
      You can also enable the auto-answer feature on the headset so that it immediately picks up the call. You can do this on the Plantronics Hub app also.
      Give that a try and let us know if that takes care of your issue if not
      we can tackle some of the more advanced features and see if we need to tweak those within the app.

      The Voyager 5200 UC works best when using it with a mobile. As we have mentioned in other videos if using the 5200 UC with any desk phones or laptops you are only going to get good audio when using the BT600 blue tooth dongle. Otherwise, you will get crappy audio even when using expensive laptops like Macbook. The Bluetooth dongle is essential because these devices do a lousy job implementing Bluetooth technology for voice communications.
      This is vastly different than just simple audio streaming like Spotify or your smartphone.
      There are only a handful of manufacturers with desktop phones that work well and play nice with Bluetooth headsets; Yealink, Mitel, Polycom, Avaya, Poly.
