  • Meteora is a stunning area in northern Greece, about four hours from Athens, next to Kalabaka. It's famous for its monasteries built on top of incredible rock formations. The name Meteora means "suspended in the air," which perfectly describes these breathtaking structures.

☁ I went this past February, and this was my favorite part of our trip! We booked with a tour bus and got there around 1 pm. The tour had a lunch stop in Kalabaka but the moussaka I had was not very good unfortunately. I think your way of renting a car is the way to go to have more agency on where and when you visit. Do you have / need an international driver's license?

Yes, you need to have an international driver's license. Hope you get to try some good moussaka next time!
