Long time fan, I'm really proud of Ray and how far he's come, I still love his energy and his overal musicality, but I really do miss 2019-2021 Ray, PEAK Ray imo was with bangers like nosebleed, feeling thsi way and insane, nowadays its hard to feel the original distinct ray volpe sound anymore. The kicks and claps feel like any other subtronics formula and the drops feel so mundane and repetitive. The energy of the songs went from unique to generic and samey.
I dont mean to be a downer, i know its not exactly easy to find inspiration especially when the pressure has been especially on since laserbeam exploded, i just miss old Ray. I hope that he continues to blow up and get more recognition and 2024 will be a great year for him. This is just my dumbass opinion in hopes he releases some classic ray bangers whether it is a matter of confidence or label expectation.
I absolutely love this set. But bros barely put his headphones on throughout the entire thing.... I'm the biggest Ray fan, but come on... It's synced out of its mind
appreciate the first part but want to clarify! you don't **need** headphones to DJ these days, it's a really outdated concept. i know my set very well, hell over half of the songs are my own, i know the mix in and mix out points, and from there there are things at the top of CDJs called phase meters that visually show you how far your tracks are on beat, and you adjust it from there with the jog wheel. i don't use sync in my sets :) i pride myself on my sets doing everything without sync and doing doubles live etc!
