    It’s a phenomenal vehicle, super comfortable, great tech inside, and they look fantastic imo. My favorite feature of the hybrid RX is the space ship sounds it makes when the engine is off or while braking.

    I am a happy owner of a 2020 450h - I just loooove it. I tried the ES as I was considering it as well, but enjoyed driving the RX more - I think just being a bit higher up was more favorable to me as a short person. Considering purchasing a new RX f sport but I just can’t decide between the 350 or the 450H, from the reviews it just seems like the 450H has way too old of a hybrid system and it’s not worth the additional money. Plus what you’ve said, the MPG difference is very minimal.

    • @MeynMotorGroup
      @MeynMotorGroup  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yea for this generation I would probably just go with the RX 350 but if you want a hybrid RX maybe wait for the 2023 refresh. If you want a good Hybrid Lexus that truly gets amazing mpg like 40 mpg plus, the ES 300h is amazing but it’s a sedan and the seats don’t fold down in the back.

Does the regular 2020 350 drive more like a a sportier car than the 2017 350? The two videos that I’ve watched of yours on the 2020 2350s have just about convinced me to go pick one up.

    The screen is a touch screen unlike all the other current Lexus models, I’m surprised you missed that! Only thing I don’t like about the F Sport is the seats aren’t full leather, even the base model gets leather. Weird thing for Lexus to cheap out on for the F sport.

    I have a 2022 450h F Sport. It drives beautifully and delivers mostly 35 mpg which is great for a 3.5 litre car. However some niggles are the infotainment system is not very good. The voice control is infuriating. I find the F Sport seat is uncomfortable with the side bolsters digging into my thighs, (and I'm not a big guy 190pounds). A big irritation is that the cruise control allows over speeding downhill. My Kia Sorrento didn't do that. The overspeeding is all the more annoying because if you reduce the set speed say from 60mph to 40 mph the car actively slows down but having achieved the new speed it will then allow run away down hill so you brake removing cruise control. I expected better from Lexus.

    Rx has pros and cons. But one thing is certain. I'm with on the same wave with reviewer. I have owned MB, Audi, Škoda. SUVs and sedans. I can't imagine anyone adopting the "boring" sentiment nonsense. Currently we have ES and RX in the household. I can't find nothing boring about them. Super calm, super quiet and reliability and post sales care of the dealer is, well...unparalleled. But yeah, I'm 42 years old. Perhaps when I was 25 I wanted that MB bliss - that is only until the first service bill. To everyone their own. But Lexus is rather magical than boring to me 👍🏻. If only LS hybrid was on RX level with its smoothness.

  • @ns00
    @ns00 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Love your videos. Personally I think the Lexus SUVs are just too heavy. After owning a 2010 RX350 AWD, we ended up getting a CR-V. I guess it's rather pedestrian, but I like the low end torque and fuel economy. I'm not sure if things have changed with the new RX, but I wish they had made the fuel tank bigger, and/or reduced the threshold where it gives you the low fuel warning. I could only manage like 300 miles on a full tank. Seriously why pay so much for a SUV if you're running to get gas so often.
    Also, this vehicle is probably marketed toward older people, and while it's super comfortable, it kind of takes the fun out of driving. Look at how small and high up those driver/passenger side windows are. On the flip side, if you're worried about safety that door is going to protect you if you get t-boned. I feel like Toyota is really pushing the RAV4 hybrid/PHEV now, and Lexus has lagged behind in terms of innovation. There are also a lot of safety/convenience technology features that come standard on mainstream vehicles (RAV4/CR-V) like lane-keep assist, adaptive cruise control, and collision mitigation braking.
    The Cayenne might be a better choice - larger fuel tank, power, baller-ness :-)

    I want to pull the trigger for an RX 450h (I know I want the hybrid, I do mostly city driving however once a month I have a 400 mile round tripper).
    But I'm torn...
    I love the look of the F-Sport, its just pops and makes the the standard RX look a bit boring. If I were to get the Fsport of course id get with the variable adaptive suspension. You kept commenting how good it was (steering, ride, turning, road feel) even though you would then say the non F sport is better lol.
    Here are my questions, since I will do a lot of city driving with a 1 day a month of 8 hour driving:
    1) Is the adaptive variable suspension only active in Sport+ mode? Tightening up the suspension would be great for smooth highway drives but would make for a harsher ride in city driving. Does it return to typical lexus perfect ride comfort out of Sport+ mode?
    2) Anyone have comments regarding the front seats? Ive heard a mix from varying reviewers; some say the Fsport seats are less comfortable for long rides compared to the non-Fsport (luxury) seats but you said it was very comfortable.
    Great review, look forward to any feedback you can provide.

      @@MeynMotorGroup An update for you. I finally pulled the trigger on the 2022 RX F-Sport. I placed an order back in Feb, it was finally delivered late October (the biggest hold up was the Mark Levinson chip). Love it. I was almost tempted during the wait to cancel and wait for a 2023 but I'm happy I remained patient. I like the clock, CD player, the physical buttons, and the known quality of the Lexus V6.
      The Sport Handling package is actually quite nice. Its not noticeable on routine city driving but I do have hilly/curvy terrain to travel thru and the handling/suspension really shines on those roads. Not quite Audi/BMW but still a highly engaging ride while remaining uber comfortable. City mileage is meh... 24mpg or so but on my once every 2 weeks round trip drive of 400 miles... it bumps to 31+ mpg (cold weather, likely this will improve in summer). Not bad for a heavy SUV which is so refined, comfortable and fun.
      Perhaps in a few years if the 4 Cyl. Turbo is proven reliable and they improve the Infotainment (with a return of some physical button functions), I'll trade up for the RX500h. Admittedly that looks like quite a fun car to drive.
      Keep up the great videos, I just noticed I wasn't subscribed. I am now...

    You do have to compare the RX hybrid awd against the RX awd for apples to apples. The hybrid version is $1250 more. It gets 30 mpg vs 22 on the standard RX awd. Hybrids do give you better braking capability with their regen. Granted it might take five years at normal miles per year to payback that extra $1250. As far as discounts, Toyota Lexus has rebates on standard hybrids. Primarily because the next gen hybrids are their plugin versions that get ev range and 300 hp with a four cylinder that pushes 40 mpg.

      The 2010 Lexus RX350 made 275 hp, and the 2010 RX450h made 295 hp.

    So let me get this strait, you said get the RX 350 because they have good deals? Dude that might be true, deals are better on the RX 350, but the RX 450H drives much better… I have driven RX 350 and I own RX 450H. I wouldn’t compare Lexus with German engineering also, lol

      Then why didn't you just get a German car?

      @@MeynMotorGroup the cost to maintain is high, much higher than that of the Lexus. Don’t get me wrong I love my RX, but you can’t compare Porsche or a Mercedes with it

      Maybe not a Porsche but some of these other budget Euro cars aren't really all that like you might think. A GLC benz feels like a tin can compared to an RX. Need to spend 70k plus to get a decent Euro car.

      I think lexus extended the warranty on their hybrid systems but for the RX anyway, I wouldn't really recommend this car just get the regular RX 350. ES300h was the only hybrid I truly liked.

    hmm why do they keep making these ugly SUV's. If you take a look at Genesis GV80 you will see that it looks much better than this car. Even the interior is in another level compared to this. While this looks like a cheap car, the genesis looks expensive and classy.

      Looks are entirely subjective and is not an indicator of vehicle performance
