Dokken are neither a glam or "hair" metal band...they are a melodic heavy metal band. Check out a tune like Kiss of Death or Tooth & Nail and then try calling them a glam band! Drummer Wild Mick Brown and guitarist George Lynch are two of the best musicians in the genre.
I hate the term glam, but I’d have to lump Dokken in with that genre, if people are going to use it. It I think we should use it and should instead use the original terms of hard rock and heavy metal.
Takes me back to the days of Z-Rock when it was syndicated out of Dallas, Texas, where I lived at the time. That's where I discovered Dokken, Dream Theater, W.A.S.P., and many other metal bands. Damn I miss that station!
The 80's. Wow. True musicians. Vocal talent. Underated. Dokken is a fave of mine from way back. Donnie D. could really belt it out. Drums pounding 😏. Jeff, firecracker 💥with intense eyes, George, explosive n smokin🔥. And definitely on my top 10 guitar heros list. ☮️to all
Thank’s Jon and Dolly 😊 Donald Maynard Dokken is his real name. The first and last are 🔥 not that there’s anything wrong with Maynard lol but not as good of a rockstar name as Don Dokken 😊
Does it sound sped up here and there at the beginning of the song?! Always love me song Dokken? Mr. Scary is by far my favorite guitarist and it’s not hard to see why…. Great reaction guys… thank you 🙏🏼
Dokken is one of my favorite bands ever. The only issue a bunch of us ever had was with the production of their earlier albums. Don's vocals, especially, were a bit muted. I wish this song had been recorded more like it was performed in concert. Very underrated band, though. We all just considered them a metal band, because they didn't fit the glam category, and "hair metal" is a term that emerged after the 80s scene was over. George Lynch is still recording music, and is still pretty impressive with what he comes up with. Some of his singers are duds, though. Their songwriting skills are not for the big leagues, and can drag the albums down. The band itself had many big songs on MTV, but they broke up just as they had been offered a headlining tour. 💖🤘
One of the most underachieving bands ever. George Lynch was amazing and they had some great songs but never ever achieved top billing status. They were an opening band their whole career.
@@patrickbateman7369 I have been very fortunate in my working life to make enough not to have to worry about money for the rest of my life so I spend my money on what makes me happy. As an example this July, my wife and I are going to Greece and the Greek Islands for 7 fantastic fun-filled weeks.
@@taylortyler1867 bet your mom does too. She like you doesn’t she? Edit: Sorry it was a joke but you walked into it. If you don’t like them don’t listen to them. We’ve got enough negativity all around us. No need to spew more of it.
Lynch is one of the best and most influential guitarist of that time!

Both so talented to be fighting!!! George Lynch is an amazing guitarist!!!

Congrats..y'all are now rockin' some Dokken!!\m/💯💥💥💥
Yes younglings, we were a different breed in the Gen X era.
Always a great time here.
Blessed to have seen them 3 times. Lived and breathed this band as a teen until 20.
They were a step above their peers.

This was on tour with Areosmith. They were the opening act. Aerosmith had just revived their career the year before with their collab with Run DMC
John & Dolly rule 💯🤘🤘🤘🎸🎤 cheers from Pasadena CA 🤘🎸🎤
Beast from the East is the best live recording from them. All hits and George doing what he does best
Lynch is the Man 🎉
80‘s best time for music ever that was Philly the Spectrum Arena Dokken toured with Aerosmith in 1987
I WAS at this show
Dokken killed it.
I miss the Spectrum..
Rokken with Dokken superb stuff

Great songs. An asskickin band, and the man George Lynch.
Still got a "Dio n Dokken" ticket stub...one of those shows that you wreck ya neck at.
that right eye twitch!!!
With the drum set that close to the edge of the stage it looks like may be opening for another band, anyone know who? DOKKEN ROCKS!
Yes, they opened up for Aerosmith back in that time. I was like 19 then and Dokken was my favorite heavy metal band
Aerosmith

You need to listen to Fates Warning - eye to eye and silent crys
Dokken is a great band I definitely wouldn't consider dokken a glam band, poison would be the definition of a glam band onto dokken
3:14 almost starting like What do you do for money honey-AC/DC
WTH is a them g?
He's a guy that has literally given them thousands of dollars to simply react to music

Many subs and very little views. I think you guys need to calm down and not get so crazy in your reactions
Dokken, Dio and Iron Maiden all take themselves way too seriously and they can't write a good song to save their lives.
@John Foxton I could say the same about _YOU._ I think I will. Whatever drugs you're on, make you say stupid things....and listen to stupid music.🙄
Don't know what you're smoking but that's a bunch of BS. All three of those bands wrote/write great lyrics. All three had their own styles.
@@NaturalMystic69 I bet you like the 3 Stooges too. 🙄
