As a native of the Caribbean, I never cease to be amazed at how expats come to these areas, and are ready to call the "ordinance or admin office" as you call them, to possibly file a report on a Bakery truck, for God's sake. I am used to the truck coming in the evenings for the freshest bread delivery, in order to have it in the morning. I see the area is isolated and just like you see the juice truck in the hottest time of day, so the time for the bread delivery. Maybe this has been this way for ages, and might be their only source of income!!! So nice to have the privilege of changing things to suit your expat sensibilities. 10pm might be too late, so try and ask them if they can do 8pm then!! But talk to them first, see if you can work out a compromise. Try and remember it is not YOUR country!!
@@amg3021 Most developed countries have rules/ordinances in their towns, cities. Would it be more acceptable if a Panamanian made an inquiry? I’m not sure why people like to assign some negative attribute to an expat when Panamanians do the same thing.

You're a guest in our country, nothing more; you get used to the country not the other way around, it is what it is🤷🏼 You could complain all you want to the authorities and i can assure you the only thing you're going to achieve is having the moving bakery blast their horn louder, and be nicknamed by the police as the "gringa loca", nothing will change, not in a small town. That's why is better to live in the city; that it's hot, that's what the AC is for 😅

No, she should NOT ask the baker to arrange his schedule, his livelihood, to suit her sleep schedule. How ridiculous and entitled. She moved to a foreign country, into a foreign neighborhood. If she does not like it, she should move back from where she came.

I was thinking $350,000 for the location. There are many homes in that area where homes are priced from 100k-250k. In El Valle, prices are much higher.

I know, there’s a big weather event happening. I always feel a bit ‘done’ with the rain in November. I hope you have a car so you can drive around at least. And go to the visitors center and Victoriano Lorenzo museum.

I used to live around this area of Penonome. Keep in mind that there is water stability issues. The local water company was fixed at $4 per month at the time, but we only had water turned on 3-4 days per week for 6 hours at a time. everyone had to use reserve tanks and pumps. It was a very tranquil place otherwise.
@@newblicious1 I know that happens in quite a few areas in Panama 🫤 2 years ago we had some days without water here in El Valle but last year was fine, just low pressure toward the end of dry season.
I'm surprised how close my guess was! I guessed $500,000 or more. I love it.

Looking at the price tag on that beautiful property ask me wondering if I really can afford to move to Panama. I want to rent something i consider decent yet affordable for my $2,000 total budget.
@@angelstar7656 It depends on where you live and what your expectations are. If you live outside of a heavily populated expat area, rents are lower. If you take public transportation and taxis, it’s cheaper than having a car. Eat at local fondas for under $10 and cook at home. There are less expensive countries, of course - but then there’s the travel/exploration expenses and immigration fees.
I know the cost of construction, then it depends on what you bought the land for. Of course you expect to make a good profit once it’s complete and with furniture

@kimberlyramsey3737 perhaps I wasn’t clear; I am inquiring at the municipal office in town IF there are any business hour ordinances. We have noise ordinances, so it makes sense there may be other ordinances. I am not proposing any type of ordinance - that is not my place.

@@Pattybluehayes I agree it not your place. Having access to fresh bread in the morning would outweigh the inconvenience of using noise canceling headphones if one is insomniac. I lived in back country many years where singing insects and frogs create a cacophony after sundown.
@ If they came in the morning, great! But they drive through anywhere from 8-10:30 pm. And the siren and speaker echos through the neighborhood.
I can easily sleep to the frogs and insects. I love them.

Please don't become an Expat Karen. If you don't like the Panamanian culture, their way of life, then LEAVE! Go back to your American HOA. The bakery many has probably been blowing his horn, after 9pm, for years. Who are YOU to tell him, and the locals who rely on his evening service, that they have to change their behavior to accommodate your sleeping schedule? Unbelievable!! Yet, believable. Expat Karens have ruined many parts of Mexico, which is one reason I left years ago. I moved to Mexico for the culture, yet left because the American, and Canadian Expat Karens were constantly running to the government to tell Mexicans how to live in Mexico.

Did you consider the bakery truck that comes down the street late blasting the music is culturally acceptable in Panama? Maybe it signals people to come out and get their baked goods for breakfast the next day. You are a guest in their country. To report them seems to me that you are trying to impose your customs on them. If you went there for a better life, be considerate of common customs. Eventually, you probably won't even notice it. And if you do, buy some earplugs with all the money you're saving.
@@nicolemurray2673 Yes, it could be. That’s what I want to find out. It only started happening months ago, a new thing. As I mentioned, I’m not imposing anything - I’m inquiring if there are biz hours. If there are, they were implemented by Panamanians, not me or any other expats. Just because we have residency here doesn’t exclude us from inquiring about established rules.
First thing the property is beautiful it seems very isolated from society also the price is not reflected from the low workmanship of Panama architecture and materials and the cost of life I’m guessing the price is probably pursuing people from other countries not Panamanians I really wish you all the best in your journey.
@@JT-er8wr It’s been my observation that there are many different types of construction and varied levels of quality. I’ve seen modest zinc-roofed breeze-block homes that look more well constructed than some beachfront mansions 😆 The sellers of this property are Panamanian; the wife designed the project, and it’s got such a great flow - and beautiful natural light 🌞

It's not worth anywhere near $450,000. It is a beautiful home bout the land is not worth much because its not flat enough. Plus i could see in the video that that river has been pretty high during rainy season,maybe even into the lower yard.
