I thrifted that exact doll with the sculpted leggings from a lot box, and I have wondered what to do with her! Covering the leggings with fuzz is a good idea! Also, my doll had the same gross sticky glue -- I had to switch out her head with another one because the glue got all over her face!

My asthma is so bad this year because we’ve had a lot of rain in Louisiana, USA and the heat and humidity means a lot of mold and mildew. And that is what really gets me gasping.

Ah thank you! And thank you for sharing. I'm sorry you're poorly ❤️ I'm not diagnosed hEDS but I have a lot of issues with hypermobility because of ADHD/ASD and then the pain that comes free with it. It actually wasn't so much the label but the sudden change in what I'm able to do and thinking that I'll never improve. It's very drastic and I have to be conscious of how little I can do without getting worse, but having ADHD I forget. Then the guilt of not being "productive". I actually found getting the label kind of empowering. My health issues have been ignored and minimised my whole life so being taken seriously means a lot...

Ooh! Welcome ❤️ So Caran D'ache have AMAZING pigmentation (tbf sometimes too much) but they're expensive! I only own about 4! I started with Albrecht Durer by Faber Castell and liked them but I think if I had to start again I'd but a set of magicfly (the ones in this vid. The discount code might work. Idk. I don't get any commission from it or anything) or arteza (Kay's ooak factory uses those and they get great results) but then shell out and buy the ones I ALWAYS use (black, white, grey and a few fair skin tones for water lines) from the Caran D'ache museum range. As for pastels I love pan pastels but they're pricey. I use Faber Castell or mungyo as well which are more affordable. The only paint I use in face ups is gouache and I use the arteza ones but tbf, I personally only really use the white and the black and v sparingly. But this is what fits MY style and you might find that yours is different. I started with JUST cheap water colour pencils and mungyo pastels and then over time added to my art stash. I've spent a lot over the years and failed a fair bit with products :/ I want to make a vid talking about it...

I don’t remember who does it but one of the doll artists I follow cuts a couple slots in the neck hole before reattaching the head. Also you should totally do a colab with Hannah from HU Dolls! Your guy’s styles really remind me of each other!

She is wicked cute, she'll have a million gfs!!! i am going to buy that paint .__. chunky yarn is the best for making doll hair. god knows i don't have the patience or wrist strength enough to work with actual yarn :'D And the entirety of the art community is kind of elitist. The "crafts" community, if you want to call it that, is maybe too forgiving.

Bestie! Omg!! I remember when they first came out (I'm so ollllld!!!) And they wouldn't come out at the same time as the book either so you had to wait 4-6 months. When the 4th one was released (8 cassette tapes!!!) I had £50 that I'd saved for a new mobile phone (look it was a different time!!) But I saw HP4, ALSO £50!!!! Guess which I got. Lol!!! Yeah it was Harry potter. As soon as audible became I thing I hurled money at them! I used to be completely obsessed with HP but then got pretty sad over some of the recent things that have happened. I'm listening to all of then from the beginning again. I'm on Azkaban. It's been really nice. Stephen Fry wrote/read "mythos" as well. That was incredible

I think you mean to add the horns? Cutting the vinyl heads with an xacto knife makes them prone to splitting, which is why I use a drill. Glad it works for HUDolls. This is what works for me
@@Dolleemixtures actually I was talking about tips for putting the head back on, you can make 3 little incisions inside the neck hole so it can flex better and it really helps when reattaching the head
Omg that sounds even worse!!! Cutting the vinyl makes it really prone to tearing. If I cut the neck hole THEN pushed something through it 100% it would split.

I just came across your channel and subscribed right away… then you talked about how you feel about the label of « disabled » and I felt drawn to leaving a comment. I have a rare genetic disorder (hEDS) that’s eating at my life but I refuse for it to define me. I am told I would get disability but I refuse the label… rings familiar? And just like you, my therapy is art - I paint and make t-shirts for kids.

And thank you for sharing. I'm sorry you're poorly ❤️ I'm not diagnosed hEDS but I have a lot of issues with hypermobility because of ADHD/ASD and then the pain that comes free with it. It actually wasn't so much the label but the sudden change in what I'm able to do and thinking that I'll never improve. It's very drastic and I have to be conscious of how little I can do without getting worse, but having ADHD I forget. Then the guilt of not being "productive". I actually found getting the label kind of empowering. My health issues have been ignored and minimised my whole life so being taken seriously means a lot...

You should try trimming the neck peg to get a better fit and get the head quicker back on. Your mushroom stencils turned out aaaaamazing and the doll is simply stunning!
Yeah I probably should trim the neck peg. I don't have strong enough wire cutters/scissors ATM. I'll add it to the list.

So Caran D'ache have AMAZING pigmentation (tbf sometimes too much) but they're expensive! I only own about 4! I started with Albrecht Durer by Faber Castell and liked them but I think if I had to start again I'd but a set of magicfly (the ones in this vid. The discount code might work. Idk. I don't get any commission from it or anything) or arteza (Kay's ooak factory uses those and they get great results) but then shell out and buy the ones I ALWAYS use (black, white, grey and a few fair skin tones for water lines) from the Caran D'ache museum range.
As for pastels I love pan pastels but they're pricey. I use Faber Castell or mungyo as well which are more affordable.
The only paint I use in face ups is gouache and I use the arteza ones but tbf, I personally only really use the white and the black and v sparingly.
But this is what fits MY style and you might find that yours is different. I started with JUST cheap water colour pencils and mungyo pastels and then over time added to my art stash. I've spent a lot over the years and failed a fair bit with products :/ I want to make a vid talking about it...

If you cut the long part off the neck peg above the roundy bit or the prongs on the side putting heads back on is so much easier

I don’t remember who does it but one of the doll artists I follow cuts a couple slots in the neck hole before reattaching the head. Also you should totally do a colab with Hannah from HU Dolls! Your guy’s styles really remind me of each other!

Bestie! Omg!! I remember when they first came out (I'm so ollllld!!!) And they wouldn't come out at the same time as the book either so you had to wait 4-6 months. When the 4th one was released (8 cassette tapes!!!) I had £50 that I'd saved for a new mobile phone (look it was a different time!!) But I saw HP4, ALSO £50!!!! Guess which I got. Lol!!! Yeah it was Harry potter. As soon as audible became I thing I hurled money at them! I used to be completely obsessed with HP but then got pretty sad over some of the recent things that have happened. I'm listening to all of then from the beginning again. I'm on Azkaban. It's been really nice.

@@Dolleemixtures holy fuck same experienced here! I hated the waiting part! I had to wait for years since I discovered Harry Potter when she only had the first three books published. So it was years of waiting for the next four. And yes the audiobooks I have was on cassette tapes haha! I listened to it in my car on my way to and from work 😂

you can make 3 little incisions inside the head with an exacto-knife, I'd recommend checking out HUDolls channel for a visual reference
I think you mean to add the horns? Cutting the vinyl heads with an xacto knife makes them prone to splitting, which is why I use a drill. Glad it works for HUDolls. This is what works for me
@@Dolleemixtures actually I was talking about tips for putting the head back on, you can make 3 little incisions inside the neck hole so it can flex better and it really helps when reattaching the head
Omg that sounds even worse!!! Cutting the vinyl makes it really prone to tearing. If I cut the neck hole THEN pushed something through it 100% it would split.
