I followed Skunkie’s instructions and modified my Reisong A10 EL34 amp. And yes, it sounds so much better. You really couldn’t turn that amp before the mods without anesthesia. Now it cranks, pure and sweet!

I did that as well, but left out Skunkie's feedback loop. It sounds and works very much better than stock after that.

Hi Rene...I was watching these with interest because i notice this amp before and could not find any review ... but i will like to know about tube bias - is it automatic or you have to done manually?

Generally, Applause (or Appluase) seems to have produced a good affordable piece of gear. Just recently stumbled upon their 833A tube based amp, looks really insane as this tube is hungry but powerful. One day I guess I'll buy one (obvisouly if they ship by ocean, otherwise that's insanely expensive shipping 😁)

Dear Rene' I'd like to buy the Appluase 300b. Please let me know if there is inside the box the user's or the service manual to set the bias of the 300b tubes. DcAmeter how should be used? Dear Marco, thank you for contacting me. There is not only light but also some shadow: Chinese devices don't have manuals and if they have, they are useless. There is no manual bias, the a-meter will only tell you when you are totally out of range. In this case you need a technician to decide if a manual correction is still possible or it is time to replace the tubes. There was no shipping damage, packing was sufficient and I had no repair so far. But some time has passed since I made the review and 300Bs have become a fashion since then, so take a look around before you decide. There are more options than 2 years ago. Thanks a lot Rene. At the moment I didn't found anything better at the price of Appluase. There are other competitors now but it seems that Appluase has good output transformers that others haven't at this price point.

@@TheMarkingegno make sure that the bias is at least adjustable by a technician, if bias is fixed I would stay away from it. I'm warning you because not even the Willsenton R300 for 1000 US has adjustable bias... and I wonder why they never answered my question concerning this feature

Hello Rene, May I know the reliable seller from Ali Express which you bought the Applause 300B amplifier from? It is worth knowing this very helpful information after watching your TH-cam channel sharing your frustration from a number of sellers in China who did not provide you with proper customer response/support. Thanks for asking. Unfortunately I cannot give you a 100% satisfying answer, as things have changed a bit. While communication with the Hifi Port Store was really excellent BEFORE buying, the shop did not answer at all when I had a problem with my other tube amp I had bought there and I did not get any compensation for the repair. The technical blueprint they had supplied with the amp was totally useless and the seller did not intervene and help. The same thing might, of course, also happen with a different store, you never know before. Warranty claims are never welcome! In case you do buy from Hifi Port nevertheless, you can refer to my case and see what excuse they have. A subscriber of my German TH-cam Channel reported to me that he was satisfied with the BREEZE hifi audio store, where he recently bought the Applause 300b as well. You can write to them and check out how reliable their answers are and build up the necessary trust Sorry I don't have an unrestricted recommendation. good luck with your purchase, maybe you will let me know about your experience...

I truly love your reviews because you don't have a axe to grind & I feel you are being totally honest & all the humor you add which make my watching interesting & entertaining , & I also drool at what you have acquired over many years both in your Hi Fi & the glimpses of your magnificent home .
I have watched a few of THE LADY from Skunk design on some China tube amps & as you said THE PRICE ,THE PRICE ,THE PRICE.
your reviews have given me some inspiration to maybe give it a try & start slowly replacing some components in my system that are over 40 years old (I turned 68 on the 4th of this month. )
Buy something on the cheaper end & add a skunk upgrade could be the direction I may go. I listen mainly to Blues a little Jazz & rock & occasionally classical by what you said about the APPLause rock & blues are its downfall where it sings with more acoustic numbers.
Have you broken in those power amps as I don't see a review or I haven't looked hard enough.
being a petrol head, over the years that is where all my money went so getting 2 for 1 love your cars.
my favorite album has to be Albert Collins , Robert Cray & Johnny Copeland's album SHOWDOWN only 1 album THATS IT !!!!

Dear Rod, thank you so much for your message, which was definitely the most heart-warming I have received since I opened my four channels. Looks like we have a few interests in common, we're even close in age, I turned 71 in May, but you win over me in regard to the age of your components. Cray/Copeland was an aera when the music was good but the recording quality was poor. I really welcome your plans of upgrading, it's never too late and keeps you young(er). If you want to avoid hassle, be careful with Chinese stuff, it sounds good, but can be poorly assembled (I'll make a video on this subject later). When you have a good technician around, it doesn't matter that much, but the Chinese often let you down with warranty claims. Please let me know when you have made your decision and how you like your new gear. Good luck and health in return, let's stay tuned, René
