Can i add sub with this?
of course you can. Most easily when your preamp has two pairs of outputs
I was at the Munich expo and heard the universes. Very impressive. I love tapped horns for bass and I have designed and built some. 130db at 16hz with 3% distortion is a cool experience.
The 16 Hz are missing, but the Universums are still great. Thanks for your comment.
@@renesklangwelt4393 Nah, you're missing much more than just the 16hz and you'll never know what's the difference until you experience it.
30 Hz way enough for me!😊

Enjoyed the content Have never heard an explanation of those iconic speakers I am glad things that exist
Do they sound coherent and have properly sized images? Will definitely put on must audition list. How they compare to Avantgarde?
Avantgarde? For 3 times the price you will get any amount of bass you like and the room is even more densely filled with music.
@@renessoundlife235I actually don't like Avantgarde uno or duo. Haven't heard Mezzo or Trio which are way expensive. Universums MK IV seems to have the ingredients for a world class speaker! Thanks for your feedback!😊
Was the sound properly sized and natural?
Yes, I was really impressed by absolutely everything (only extremely deep bass e.g. of an organ concerto is not on the menu, bass goes down to only 30 Hz); beautiful 3D rendering, no harshness or colorations.
Sounds beautiful and effortless. Silly question, but what are those wooden structures on the ground? Wishing you a Happy New Year. Brian
Hello Brian, even more so in reality. I had absolutely nothing to criticise. Grandeur of scale, overwhelming in detail and relaxing (or should I say: intoxicating?). But at almost 40 000 Euro a bit too expensive, although it is a bargain compared to a German Avantgarde speaker. I'm always happy to find your comments here, thank you so much; happy New Year to you as well. Looking forward to continuing our contact in 2025, René
Oh, by the way: those objects are meant for acoustic room treatment. Seems to be very widespread in Japan, where they come from. If you are interested in learning more about that, please watch my respective video, unfortunately in German only, but you might get the gist of it by a translation and the pictures. th-cam.com/video/qTgL7L9cltQ/w-d-xo.html
Hi !! Most showroom used synthesized music instead of real instruments. That way it is impossible to verify the accuracy of the speakers. I always use voices, piano, saxophone, violin and trumpet to test the naturalness of the tones, and if they still sound real at 90+ db, they get my thumbs up. BYE !!
Hi, Yves,, I fully agree, but synthesized music can be used additionally to check if the equipment is an all-rounder or a classical music specialist.
Hello Rene, thank you for putting this all together for us. I really appreciate to have your thoughts and observations in English (much appreciated). Interesting: funny how we fuss, and fuss over our audio setups only to be humbled at the simple setup Yamin had playing his guitar with voice. Humbling. Kindest regards, Brian

Always a story to tell. The XA25 PassLabs is also class A and had vice like grip of my PMC Twenty26.
I got a bit PO'ed by this. Juicy, and you show a picture of oranges, you think we can't imagine? Never mind the irrelevant pictures. In my country Br08 cost $940.. The MA 100 cost $5k. It is five times the price, and you're surprised they were a tad better? Not to mention that you chose to put those two speakers against each other.. Do someone cross shop them you think? And the music.. Maybe include the rest of the 99.99% that listen to not so strange music you have to pay $32 to listen to. Thanks for nothing I guess. Just to add, Why didn't you use the Triangle Magellan 40th anniversary Duetto instead? I don't know who you are trying to reach with this video.
I saved for ages for Verity speakers will be same kinda wait for top turntable for me. All my income is now disposable disposed right into gear lol.
If it makes you happy - why not? Good luck for the turntable search!

Hello Rene, congratulations on your new phono stage. The jumpers kinda reminds me of my old “naim superline” with their DIN style plugin for cartridge loading. Take care, Brian
Hello Brian, thank you for the congrats, still looks (or better: sounds) like the Flight deserves them. As I don't play around a lot with the few possibilities I don't mind the jumper fiddling in the beginning. The Naim has a fine reputation, you'll probably be satisfied, too. @@renessoundlife235interesting, very impressive given you’re using the entry level Accuphase CD player.
I’m considering a DP-450, did you compare a number of CDs before settling on the 430?

Dear Rene' I'd like to buy the Appluase 300b. Please let me know if there is inside the box the user's or the service manual to set the bias of the 300b tubes. DcAmeter how should be used? Are the tubes well protected in the box during transport? Thanks for your answers and greetings from Italy! Marco
Dear Marco, thank you for contacting me. There is not only light but also some shadow: Chinese devices don't have manuals and if they have, they are useless. There is no manual bias, the a-meter will only tell you when you are totally out of range. In this case you need a technician to decide if a manual correction is still possible or it is time to replace the tubes. There was no shipping damage, packing was sufficient and I had no repair so far. But some time has passed since I made the review and 300Bs have become a fashion since then, so take a look around before you decide. There are more options than 2 years ago. Hope I could help you a little, best greetings to Italy.
Thanks a lot Rene. At the moment I didn't found anything better at the price of Appluase. There are other competitors now but it seems that Appluase has good output transformers that others haven't at this price point.
@@TheMarkingegno hi Marco, if you can live with the minor restrictions, go ahead! I would be very pleased to read your opinion once you are proud owner of the device. Good luck, Marco!
@@TheMarkingegno make sure that the bias is at least adjustable by a technician, if bias is fixed I would stay away from it. I'm warning you because not even the Willsenton R300 for 1000 US has adjustable bias... and I wonder why they never answered my question concerning this feature

I tend to get a bit short of patience with those displaying their rather churlish jealousy in substandard and dismissive comments: enjoy the toy…..$19,870 USD is insane to SOME, but not all those who love world-class performances. Nevertheless, massive A-300s, Accuphase’s, Esoterics, and especially M-10x Luxmans ARE NOT toys, by any stretch of the imagination! Any SPLs in excess of 105 dB delivered on perfect oscilloscope roundness is a tremendous crowning, monumental achievement. Any loudspeaker capable of MY FAVORITE parameter: Peak Transient Composure, is certainly no one’s toy! They’re precision instruments that command serious, sobering respect.🌷
I have Plinius per/power which I had upgraded by McLaren audio of New Zealand,I live offGrid ,so the power draw from the wall was too much continuous,McLaren audio is a master of A/B and modified it ,now it sounds better then it did in class A and uses much less power . Congratulations Glad u get goosebumps 😊
If it sounds better than class A that was a stroke of genius! Congrats as well! So nice to know that two people are happy in different countries with the same device now.
Such a satisfying video. I’m so happy that you finally found happiness and closure with the Jadis debacle. Rene, I’m not sure if it was covered, but which preamp are you using with your new Plinius? Did the Jadis preamp also go or only the power amp ? Brian
As you have been a loyal companion on my cumbersome journey I would like to thank you very specially. Finally and to my surprise the JA30 turned out to be the sore spot (not the JP30), therefore for the time being the Jadis Pre is going to stay (nevertheless it would be interesting to find out in the future if the Plinius Pre would outperform the Jadis as well, but this will be difficult to check because Thailand is not a Plinius stronghold). The mix sounds as great as described so there is no need for action at this moment. René
Great review; enjoy your new toy.
so nice of you, many thanks!
Congrats on your new toy, Wish you happy and trouble-free listening.
Thank you for both! Looks like your good wishes might come true this time...
I get by just fine with 7 watt SE Tube amplifiers For me it is not about power but we make our choices 100 watts class A would get as hot as the sun if your amplifier were not so substantial Enjoy your video content Glad you got a new amplifier
We belong to different Hifi realms and I totally understand and respect the low watt league. I'm happy you like my work and thank you for your friendly sympathy.
I was watching one of your videos where you were trying new equipment. You were saying that the Thailand Electrical grid fluctuate. My suggestion is use batteries that can be charged the same time as they are discharged. There are many products, at least in the U.S that offer that option. You would get pure power at a very cheap price. Which may solve your noise product with your amps.
The scenery is amazing .. =)
Rene, thank you for the show report. The Totem Loon ... being a relatively new model I find it amazing that they are actually in your country. I’m close to the Totem factory and it’s incredible that such a modestly sized company can produce and export so much product. Take care, Brian
Thank you for showing up at the exhibition, Brian. Indeed, the Thais seem to be very active in opening up new markets and establishing new business connections. Funny you live so close to the source!
I found the focals are bit metallic and bright in the treble and a bit ‘plastic’ woofer like in the mids. I think theres better out there in Thailand for the focal dealers asking prices.
Yes, they have never been famous for a sweet and silky sound. And for 20 000 there is some choice indeed.
