120 mph sounds realistic. 1200 mph you'd be red mist. Gotta remember everything has a terminal velocity, a point where it can't fall any faster
You are exactly right.. term vel for a freefalling human is 120. If nose diving you can reduce the drag enough to get between 150 to 170.. but that's it. The only way to get higher is to use specific angles or techniques to induce speed and are thus not free fall. I'm guessing the 1200 is an altitude read. You should always pop before 3000ft. .. but the rule of thumb is 1000 is tour absolute terminal distance to the ground. Anything lower , that uses a rip cord, requires 1000 feet for the chute to open before impact. The only way to pop lower is a low speed combat jump that uses a short static line.. so your chute is open basically as you leave the craft
i skydive and i can verify that it's 120 not 1200.
@@joshythehand2960 For reference, the fastest freefall speed ever accomplished by humans was by Felix Baumgartner (I think that's his last name) with Red Bull, He passed 800 mph at freefall speeds because of how high in the atmosphere he was.
@@1x1nDone oh yeah.. he jumped from the stratosphere. There is almost zero air up there.. no density at all. I was referring to max freefall within standard jumping.. even at 13,000 you still have the same terminal velocity as jumping from 8000, but you are 100% correct about a jump above the breathable air line. There is also weird equation with distance after you go so high. What was cool was he jumped from so high.. with the ability to use angle to gain velocity.. that he had the option of landing in any several different states if he so chose. Lol. I did a jump from 12,000 outside of Vegas.. I swear it seemed like we had sooooo much extra free fall than from 10.. our usually alt. I know we really didnt.. but that extra 25 seconds or so seemed like an hour.

@derp derpin agreed!!! Me and my wife both had our best years yet professionally, went on an awesome vacation and never had to miss a single hour of work. Neither of us have had any sickness whatsoever by wearing a mask and taking a bunch of the proper supplements to our diet. Even though were both relatively young (30) we got flu vaccines for the first time. Screw the media and their scare tactics and divisiveness. I will wear a mask publicly and get a vaccine but these overreaching government orders had better come to a complete an absolute end once we get this under control.

How does a tilt lens make things look small? I dont know anything about cameras
@@TriXJester tilt shift adds blur, normally to top and bottom of the frame which gives the illusion of a shallow depth of field. Filming from distance, playing with color filters (making primary colors "pop"), and a higher perched angle and also speeding up the playback also help create the illusion

@9:35 idk if they ever saw the guy Felix who jumped from space for RedBull, but his 1200 mph wasn’t too far off from the speed he hit, cause if I’m not mistaken he was moving around 7 to 800 mph before he like reached the atmosphere or whatever it was that started to slow him down. But I couldn’t even imagine moving that fast through the sky or just jumping from that height. Or that guy who jumped out of a plane with no parachute and landed in a net on the ground. Which Travis Pastrana did it as well but when he jumped out of the plane he just caught up with somebody and hooked up to him and you know the guy pulled is parachute, but this other guy literally jumped out of a plane with no parachute and landed in a net, could you freaking imagine?
That parade float with Santa Claus sleigh that collapses? That was at Disneyland about halfway through the parade route. I was there that day...a lot of us were wondering what was taking the parade so long to finish.

To photograph things and make them look like miniatures, take the photo from a high angle (like from the top of a building looking down) with a lens that has a very narrow focus (like a telephoto lens with a large aperture, where very few things are in focus). When only the objects in the center are in focus and the surroundings are slightly out of focus, it will look like a miniature artificial world.
There is also a specialty "tilt-shift" lens (this camera lens is on a hinge and can turn a few degrees), which also changes the focal depth/the angle from the lens to the camera's sensor, creating the same effect. (These specialty lenses have been around for about 50 years, but not very used.)
Now many phones or editing apps have a "tilt-shift" option (the software will reproduce the lens effect) so you don't have to really understand how it works. This is why it has become more common in the last 10-15 years.

@@HBC423 That's only because he jumped in super thin atmosphere (about 300 times less than normal, ~300 Pa vs ~100000 Pa), where the terminal velocity is higher. By the time he reached normal flight altitudes the atmosphere would have slowed him down to around 150 mph.
