    Fished Crooked creek today and used your recommendation of the Berkley pinch crawler in brown and yellow. Caught ten on it, and it was hot. Thanks for the tip.

    After watching your videos, I purchased a trout magnet kit for my granddaughter, she's only 4 but loves to fish. We used the pink trout magnet under a bobber. I would help her toss it in a small hole and she caught one on her first cast. She caught 3 in 10 minutes. She snagged it and we lost that hook so we tried a red, it took a few casts but she caught her 4th. We switched to the green and white and she finished her limit.
    When jigging do you use a sinker?

      Wow that's great to hear! Congratulations to you both. And no I never add weight while using a trout magnet hook.

    i do the same thing when using the trout magnets, my favorite color is the dark green with the red flakes. the main reason i use the green with the red flakes is this, the red flakes looks like little blood spots to the trout.

    I prefer using a smooth braid Berkley nanofil or the X9 6lb braid for soft plastic fishing, I use a 4-6lb fluorocarbon leader too. I’ve always found with mono or straight fluorocarbon you don’t get a good cast or you’ll loose touch with the lure. Thoughts?

    Another great wee vid pal i need more advice if you dont mind, im dying to try the trout magnet set up but a few of my friends are saying it wont work over here in Scotland for wild browns and its only stocked fish that go for them, can you clear this up for me if you know? ive been fishing for trout for 35 + years but until 2/3 years ago i only bait fished and then i got into spinning by mistake, i found an old gold spinner stuck in a tree so i decided to try it out and caught lots of fish i was more or less hooked,(excuse the pun) lol ive also been using hard body lures i.e rapalas/salmos abu garcia tormentors but i really want to try the stuff you are doing with the trout magnet jig head and the huge assortment of fake grubs n worms, so yeah, do you think our Scottish wild browns would take these soft baits? thanks in advance take it easy n take care Tight lines ❤🎣✌💙👍 Craig 🙋‍♂️

    I still don't get how you cast that trout magnet so far with 8lb line. I can do it with 2-4lb SOS line. I do like using them atomic teasers. They're lethal! Anyways good luck to all! Fins and grins!!

    They must put a heck of a lot of stockies into your rivers. We only get a few rainbows (escapees from fish farms) in Scottish rivers, its mainly wild brown trout in our rivers.

    Black trout tubes are my go to warmer water slayer. Any dark color trout worm jigged fast works well for me in warmer water. I prefer black worms with splitting the tail at the very tip with a razor blade to add more movement on the tail.

    I think the trout will bite just about anything if there is no natural food in the creek for them to eat. I have good luck with the Pinched Crawlers on Jennings, Upper Peddler and Ty River.

    • @bjnelson9490
      @bjnelson9490 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      All creeks have natural food. Takes them about a week to start truly feeding on wild offerings. Those stocked fish that remain a week after a stocking are much more wary than any native would be. Mark of a good Trout Fisherman is if he can consistently catch a limit a week after a stocking. Take it from an old guide. Test yourself as such and you'll see what I mean
