Thank you. S24 ultra is my first Samsung. I was worried that the camera was not so good as I thought. I learned a lot. Loved the advice on the settings
This completely made my day. Wasn't happy at all with the default behaviour / performance / settings of the camera, coming from a pixel phone. This now really brings me to peace with the S24 camera! Would have never found or even tried to explore all this. Thanks a million! Also, it's SO great to see Burleigh Heads here :D We lived in Brisbane for 5 years. Countless trips there, good times memories! 😍🤩
Thank you so much. Just got my S24 Ultra a few weeks ago. And wanted to optimise my camera functions but wasn't sure how to. This is a TREMENDOUS help ! Especially the S Pen part ! Thank you !! ❤
Thank you for this video, Sir, it was highly informative and interesting! I was disappointed in the change from directors cut to dual recording because you can't zoom nor change the lenses while recording but thanks to you I leaned that I can save them as separate files and zoom in editing after the fact and I would have never known this because I didn't even see the value in saving them separately. I watch all your videos on the S24 ULTRA and I'm always learning something about my new phone especially since I'm coming from the NOTE 10 PLUS I'm rusty and out of touch on all the new features and hardware updates since then 🥰🙏🏾
Amazing, thanks. I got this phone because of its non cam specs and physical quality but thanks to you I will exploit the camera more. I love the fact it can picture the moon quite amazingly!
This is a fantastic video for learning about the complexities of the S24 (Ultra in my case) camera. I knew there was a lot to learn and now I'm learning it from this video. Thank you so much. Wonderful.
I'd have a caveat about the zoom-in mic. Turn it off for concerts. The sound isn't coming from the singer/band, it's coming from speakers that may be nowhere near the thing on your screen. As a result, audio from concerts often sounds muffled or distorted.
I used the S21+ for years in my role as an event photo /video director. I didn't change anything outside of pro video mode. It did so well. I'm super curious about distortion and mic quality on the 24+.
I noticed that by turning off the scene optimizer, the image has less delay and does not add exaggerated contrast and saturation, the best option is to have it at maximum quality with the optimizer turned off
Thank you Daniel for an outstanding run through of all the features and settings for the Camera on the S24U. I knew it was a great camera...just not HOW great! I saved it for future how to's as I explore that portion of the phone...mind blown! I've only had the S24U for less than 2 weeks and have been sorting through and organizing my data folders. I made the right choice in getting it!
Great video thank tou. I never used a single feature of my s24 ultra (and older phones) other than tag position. All pictures made in point and shoot mode. But thank you, I will improve

Really full video! Thank you! Any specific suggestions for recording a classical music instrument? To make it as close as possible to some fancy really expensive mics? Is it possible?
First, sir, thank you for all these Galaxy S24 videos. Before and after getting my S24 Ultra I've been binging on your videos. So many things that are absolutely awesome and really, REALLY useful I uncovered that I didn't even know I've got thanks to your efforts. All my family are on iPhones and I just don't get it. Apart from the fact that cameras are and have been great for many years, they seem very basic, simple phones with a bunch of limitations + every generation kind of seems like pretty much the same phone to me. I was buying iPhones for my kids recently and it was really painful... they want a more recent generation, and I'm like 'why do you want to spend this much more money if there's nothing but bragging rights?' In your daily use, there's really no difference if you are on 12 or 14 IMHO. Galaxy S24 Ultra brings so much stuff that I ACTUALLY use and appreciate that the price tag makes sense. Sorry for the rant. Just wanted to say thanks :)
This video is only for people who are already very familiar with the camera functions and terminology. It's a check the box off on a list type tutorial. He moves very quickly from item to item difficult to keep up with if you want to write it down or make any changes on your camera at that time. Seems like a nice guy though.
: Would you recommend s24 ultra, as the best camera mobile phone, on android so far? Considering overalls like macro, simple portraits, astro, vediography etc etc.... I wanna buy a mobile phone, just for the camera....
Hey great video! May i ask you- how do you remove this after photo automatic AI overproccessing? I am so frustrated as it ruins more than half of the photos...do you think they will fix that with some an update?
Thanks for another great video. I did some UHD/60 fps night videos the other day and experienced something nobody has mentioned, at least as far as I am aware of. How do you edit these UHD videos? The reason why I am asking, Samsung creates 10-bit clips that a lot of editing software cannot handle if they are limited to 8-bit. I had to find converter software to "safe" my clips. What editing software are you using?
Great video thanks from the UK 😊 Which mp would be best to use for good quality pics so that when you view at 100% after, you don't lose the sharpness hdr and quality please, 12mp 50mp 200mp? ❤
Thank you 🙏 12mp still offers the best. Especially viewing at 100% on phone screen or even a TV. 4K TV's are 8mp in resolution, so a 12mp photo will come out just fine! But if you want a balance, 50mp will strike a great middle ground of detail and HDR processing
Great video, looking forward to your Camera Raw one. 2 questions, what is that brigthness toggle in portrait mode and how can you zoom all that way with the S Pen? When I try the zoom I can only zoom a single step each time.
The brightness toggle is for controlling the brightness level on the subjects face in certain portrait effects. For zooming, when you rotate the pen a full circle, you have to keep holding the button to keep zooming in
This is the equivalent of going into your tv settings and enabling every little option and setting it to maximum intensity. Where as what determines the quality of it is how well it performs with everything disabled.
That's like saying "see how these shoes fit and stay on your feet without laces". Those toggles and settings are functions of the phone to enable it to perform at its best.
I enjoyed learning about the features on my phone. However I have a small suggestion. Slow down a little. I had to rewind quite a bit because you were going too fast. Also when your talking about features it almost was like your speaking a foreign language because I had no idea what some things meant. Maybe give a brief description of what a certain term is. Your super knowledge and I definitely appreciated your video. Thank you.
My decision for buying a galaxy 24 is an option to voice control of the camera through settings in the camera. Can you give me some info in that regard?
It's not a silly question at all! Video is optimised for 16:9 to suit playback aspect ratio. There is a workaround to capture 4:3 video, in photo mode. If you hold down the shutter button, it will start capturing video in the set aspect ratio of photo mode. Because the way the video resolutions are set (4K mainly) it crops into that part of the sensor of the phone. (Fun fact, 4K is 8MP of resolution) As there is no resolution that suits 4:3 for video it wouldn't give you the best clarity or quality. For photos, as the sensor is in a 4:3 ratio and its full native shooting resolution is 12mp, it can take advantage of it!
@techwithbenefits ah, makes sense - thanks for explaining, I did discover that workaround but I just didn't understand why this wasn't selectable having only just been enlightened as to why 4:3 is the best photo aspect ratio - I've been using 16:9 for years just because it fills the phone screen! As far as codecs go, for the average user who just records for their own use (ie not a content creator/video editor) which would you recommend? My S24 ultra was set to HEVC by default but I see all of my carried-over videos are in h.264 🤔
Question for you...I have the s24 ultra. Do you recommend getting the lens protectors? The face of my lense on my s20 note ultra got finely scratched and and my camera could no longer focus much of the time.
Hmm, it can degrade the quality of the photo. They have recessed the camera glass in a little bit to help with that type of thing happening. It depends on lots of things though. A case can help too as it further recesses the camera lenses in
@techwithbenefits thank you. By the way...I'm very glad to have found your channel. Looking forward to watching the videos I tagged to figure out my phone. :)
i there a way like on the 21 ultra to take a photo while you are videoing? I loved that feature and cant seem to find it on the 24ultra. Also do you have to change a setting to get the pen to swipe etc I cant seem to get mine to do that>
THANK YOU SIR as somone who is about to update his 8 yr old phone im lost at where to start other than just use auto mode on the the S24 plue I plan to get this month
Great video, very useful, thanks. Great camera, great features, but no card slot means it's only for playing around. Forget about holiday videos, you'll need a proper camera where you have unlimited storage. Good engineering, bad management, as usual.
Thank you for your dedication. I have a problem regarding the 200mp mode : the photo processing is making my picture overexposed and if I double tap into it to zoom, the details are either flat and blurry or they're all looking as if I had poured water on a painting, making the ink leaking.. to say it simpler the photo isn't sharp and looks like trash. How is that possible ? On the S23 Ultra there was kind of a filter in the post processing but the pictures looked awesome and full of details. I don't understand why new phone has to mean going backwards, I mean isn't it the same 200mp sensor ? I hope it will get fixed very fast via an update. Did the S23 Ultra 200mp pictures looked that bad when the phone was released one year ago? I hope some people can reassure me because it's just not good.
As you mentioned in the section about dual recording (which I'm also big fan of. One of the features that you showed in one of your videos that just got me off the fence and in a buying frenzy), you miss SSD cards. I'm also planning to shoot my son's football/soccer games in 4K in dual recording mode. I'm worried about running out of space. May I ask, how do you solve it? External SSD, thumb drive or external SSD card with adopter? Or you just don't bother, go home and offload the footage? As much as I love my Galaxy S24 Ultra I miss having SSD tray in the phone. Pretty much my only complain.
So, I am in the same predicament regarding storage. At the moment, I use cloud based storage with one drive, and every so often, I will clear the internal storage and keep it in the cloud, which still allows me to view it in the gallery. However, I also have an external SSD that I dump a whole bunch of important footage onto as well (holidays, concerts etc). I miss SD card support immensely too lol
The dual recording function on the S24/S24+ is only in 1920x1080 30fps. This cannot be adjusted at the top of the screen. The same as keeping the photo button pressed, which makes the video recording start. This is also in the same low quality.
I know when you're on a web page you can activate AI and circle an item. AI will then perform a search and tell you about the person, place or thing. if you take a photo of a person place or thing does that AI function work?
Does anyone know if there is some kind of motion detection of the camera to start video? So for example if I put the phone on front of my ski and I want the phone to auto start recording video when I start to move.
You can preset for the filters for Expert Raw so I think any presets including lenses stay to whatever you set them to

About using the 4:3 mode. Does 16:9 give worse results? I understand that 16:9 is just a crop-in version of 4:3, but I don't see why is that a problem, because we're watching the pictures on a 16:9 screen anyway (PC/TV). If the phone takes better pictures in 4:3, I'll consider switching back from 16:9 mode. Thx for the reply in advance.
The short answer is the results aren't specifically worse, the photo has less overall resolution because it crops the sensor as you said. My comment is more speaking to people who believe using the full ratio or 16:9 gives them more of the scene they are capturing because it looks wider (something I have experienced people thinking first hand).

@@techwithbenefitsthank you! yes, that's a fair point! :)
Is like you have a different manufacturing of the S24 Ultra. Yours is so clear, brighter in colours and also detailed. Most of us are having issues about our cameras which is dull, flat without any details and also grey, yellow or green overlays on footages we took.
Since you have beautiful kids, i do want to know if somehow it's possible to shoot them indoors or low light conditions without the picture being moved. I never couldn't manage this on my huawei p30 pro. I did the comparison today to see if there is a difference between my Huawei p30pro and starting today with my brand new Samsung galaxy s24 ultra. And in every way, this camera is insanely sharper, has beautiful colors, and is extremely steady if you have shaking hands like me cause of my illnesses. Love the extra options to add background blur on a normal picture... The only thing I did notice is that my button to take pictures is a lot faster on my huawei p30pro in every mode. So I can take faster or more pictures with it in every mode. Why is this not the same on the Samsung Galaxy s24 ultra? Like in portrait mode, it is not very fast. Photo mode, on the other hand, is a lot faster. Fast-moving pics of my son are also moved or blurred indoors but they're a lot sharper and vivid, despite the motion or blur on some parts of my kid (did not test it outdoors yet because of the Belgium weather😂) if you have some advice for me (if it is even possible to take good shots of fast moving object indoors or in low light conditions) I would appreciate your advice 🙏 thank you for helping me in advance 🥰
The very first set of instructions caused me a problem. In settings the 'Scan documents and text' and 'Shot suggestions' options can't be turned on. The message says "Not available with the current picture size". I've toggled between 3:4, 9:16, 1:1 and Full with no luck
Is there a way to only take picture using only one of the 5 cameras? I'm a bio student and on my old phone I could take pictures looking through a microscope lens. With the s24 ultra it switches to a different lens and won't "see" through the microscope.
When you get too close to a subject it activates focus enhancer, which uses the ultrawide camera. It appears in the bottom left corner of the screen when you get too close. You can turn it off when you're close to something!
I don't have that video no, but it's a very simple process! You can download an app on your phone called Droidcam and you can download the same program on your PC and then follow the prompts to link it all together!
Watched countless S24 Ultra videos in the last month, but this is the definitive s24 camera video by far. Fantastic job!

My decision for buying a galaxy 24 is an option to voice control of the camera through settings in the camera. Can you give me some info in that regard?
Hey there! I mention it in the video!
What about pausing a video and then restarting the same video?
You press the big pause button on the video screen whilst it's recording
Great video mate. Might be a silly question but is there a reason why we can't shoot video in 4:3 when that is the optimum choice for photo?

Max resolution for portrait video is 4K!

The dual recording function on the S24/S24+ is only in 1920x1080 30fps. This cannot be adjusted at the top of the screen. The same as keeping the photo button pressed, which makes the video recording start. This is also in the same low quality.
Can you use the Camera Assistant S24 Ultra on the S24 Basic? I don't see an app for the S24 Basic in the PlayStore! Thank you in Advance!
I can't seem to find camera assistant in the play store. And suggestions?
It's in the galaxy store
I know when you're on a web page you can activate AI and circle an item. AI will then perform a search and tell you about the person, place or thing. if you take a photo of a person place or thing does that AI function work?
Where does the S pen sit again? but great video :)
Does anyone know if there is some kind of motion detection of the camera to start video?
So for example if I put the phone on front of my ski and I want the phone to auto start recording video when I start to move.
They really should have added photosphere 360
Dam true !
Also, wanted to know if these galaxies remember your presets of the pro mode when you choose another mode then go back to the pro mode 🤔
I'm not having any of those issues
In case of s24 plus what should i do for macro shots?
Best bet is move the camera back and use the 2x or 3x!
Hi...
How can I take photoes while take video with Samsung S24 Ultra...?
How to reduce motion blur on moving objects photos?
I cannot find the exact Camera Assistant App for my S24 Plus
I found it. It's only available in the Galaxy Store.
Like in portrait mode, it is not very
fast.
Highest resolution on the phones available right now. S24 ultra goes in on the top 3 best phone cameras of the year.
❤ amazing video. TH-cam need a superlike button or something bcos like...doesn't do it for me here. Great work.
Thank you! Took a few weeks to put this together so I appreciate the appreciation 🙏
The very first set of instructions caused me a problem. In settings the 'Scan documents and text' and 'Shot suggestions' options can't be turned on. The message says "Not available with the current picture size". I've toggled between 3:4, 9:16, 1:1 and Full with no luck
It means resolution size! Change it from 200/50!
@@techwithbenefits Cheers Daniel!
If I'm taking a picture and video, how do I turn off the sounds of the video and pics being taken?
Is there a way to only take picture using only one of the 5 cameras? I'm a bio student and on my old phone I could take pictures looking through a microscope lens. With the s24 ultra it switches to a different lens and won't "see" through the microscope.
When you get too close to a subject it activates focus enhancer, which uses the ultrawide camera. It appears in the bottom left corner of the screen when you get too close. You can turn it off when you're close to something!
S pen goes into the silo lmao 😂
I have a problem i dont have the portrait video on my s24 plus how do i get it
Have you got a video on how to make a s24 ultra a 2nd camera on a Windows computer
I don't have that video no, but it's a very simple process! You can download an app on your phone called Droidcam and you can download the same program on your PC and then follow the prompts to link it all together!
Thank you so so much!
I am not finding camera assistant in the google play store. Did they get rid of it to download?
You download it from the galaxy store!
