@@Baff0000 its a clip from Mac and Me - a rip off of E.T. Every single time Paul Rudd comes on Conans show with a clip - he plays that scene instead of whatever he was supposed to show.
Baff0000 For many, many years, Paul Rudd has been going on Conan and claiming he brought a clip from whatever he’s promoting. He, instead, plays this same clip from a terrible 1988 dumpster fire of a movie called Mac and Me.

Let’s just take a moment to appreciate the fact that he had someone digitally add another Mac just for this gag. The dedication to the bit is inspiring.
I like to imagine that Paul learned how to edit himself just to make this clip
You should see the interview where he was promoting Ant-Man and added Ant-Man into Mac and Me.
AND this is a new HD transfer. They went out and got a better version of the original clip. Previous ones looked like dirty VHS tapes from that one weird family friend that archived and recorded everything and had walls of hand labeled VHS tapes.

Conan pretends to get more insane about it - not in a bad way, bu he has been fooled many times - and while conan gets annoyed rudd acts like nothings happened. Plus every so often rudd adds stuff to it.

As funny as it is to see The Mac and Me clip, one of the longest running jokes on Conan’s show at this point, the real genius of this running joke is Paul Rudd’s continued deadpan delivery and conviction that the clip is from an actual trailer and not from Mac and Me.
And him almost always taking a long sip outta his mug right after while Conan stews 🤣

The only time he didn't show the clip on Tonight Show with Conan/Late Night with Conan/Conan is when Judd Apatow physically flew over to the studio Conan is filmed in, and made sure that Rudd didn't use a different clip than his film that was being promoted, Knocked Up. Other than that one instance, Rudd has always brought the Mac and Me clip, even when he was promoting Ant-Man.
