A couple comments,,, firstly,, good video 👍🏼…. Always measure the flame sensor before and after cleaning. You want to quantify what progress was made (or not). Imo the sand cloth debate is bunk. I don’t think it would make grooves but even if it did why would it matter? We are sending voltage to a piece of metal. That voltage is being conducted through a lit methane/propane to ground. The board measured the amperage to determine how well there is a path…. Grooves might even help with rectification due to additional surface area? The silica in the sand cloth will not coat the metal
Thank you! Yes, we normally check the micro on the Flame sensors. My Son was having a time getting the connector off. So I just said to take it out and clean it. I already knew exactly what was happening. They have cat litter boxes in front of the furnace and all that dust gets on the flame sensor
Yea I agree with you. I've seen flame sensors with grooves and had them still work great. I've cleaned some of the ultra low nox flame sensors with sand paper cuz they get a thick layer of corrosion on them. Steel wool grade #1 is my go to. Good for copper too
@@ADVANHVACI enjoy your content. Did you delete a video where you went to a guys house that installed good own over sized Goodman furnace? He had a small house but installed like a 100k btu furnace. I thought that was your channel .I’m looking for that video but can’t find it anymore.
Good job Tyler, we all started in the same position.
One tip: before cycling power, look for fault code.
Merry Christmas 🎁🎄
Thanks. He is doing great, I keep telling him he is doing well it is all part of the process. And Merry Christmas.
How come you didn’t check the micro amps on the flame sensor? But it nice to see your son put interest in what you do.
We normally do. He couldn't get the spade connector off the fs. I already knew what was going on.
I like the flashlight; what's the make and model? Thanks

I heard that if you sand it the little scratches make it get dirty faster is all.

You are correct.

He doesn't realize how lucky he is to have a great teacher, maybe when he gets a little bit older😂
Thank You. It also teaches me patience.
Those are sleep apnea hoses on the wall. Did I guess right?
You got it!

@@ADVANHVAC one last question sir, what’s the title of that video so I can watch it again? Have a Merry Christmas.
@Ryan-RM Merry Christmas to you as well. DIY Goodman Furnace Install: What We Discovered Will Shock You!
So it's OK do run gas flex line inside of the furnace?! Not code here, must be iron pipe, and we install drip legs.
No your are not supposed to do that here either. This was a hack install.
from the thumbnail i thought you were dwight shrute rapping about scranton

I cracked up when he guessed high limit ngl
Ikr. He is still Green on service.
Flame sensor.
I had a company tell me to replace the flame sensor and not clean it 😄
The only time to replace if it's been cleaned a lot over the years or if the porcelain insulator is broken.
