FROM CHICAGO GOOD JOB 👍
4:50 need to use the reverse bender attachments makes life easier.
Yup, since that video I purchased the Navac, yes that makes life easier.
I have a York gas furnace from about 2010, slow amber flash. Draft inducer runs & sounds normal (and is only two years old), all 5 burners light and stay lit, but blower motor never starts. After about 3 minutes the burners shut off but the draft inducer seems to keep running. Any ideas?
Sounds like it's not getting the signal from the control board.
Turn the furnace's power off. Remove the lead where the transformer lead is 120v. Then, remove the blower motor lead from the heat tap. Move that to the Transformer 120v, then turn the switch on. If the blower turns on, that will tell you if you have a bad control board.
Easy job turned into a questionable job first of all you remove the test t then ran galvanized pipe and a water valve and even the flexible line has to be yellow
The Flexnline is from Generac, so let's get your facts straight. That's not a water valve.
Mine failed in just three years! Being replaced. Constantly having failures.
Sorry, JCI sucks, if I knew they were garbage I would never installed these in my customers homes. Good luck.
Heat exchanger failed on my 3 yr old unit. Being replaced. Can’t handle repeated failures.
I will be replacing my third JCI heat exchanger this year. The one that I found yesterday was only 4 years old. Very sad!
Thank you so much for this video!! My heat wont blow hot air and I thought I would save a few bucks and fix it myself!!! 2 mins into the video I realized wait this dude is a professional. He has the education, knowledge and experienced to repair HVAC (I truly mean that) not me so I gave up my attempt, just going to bite the bullet and fork over the money and call one of your fellow HVAC colleagues in my area to do the task they are trained to do. Lord know If I try it will be a train wreck? Or should I just give it a go myself and save a few bucks and take my chances? I bet you would or should tell me "no hire a professional" and in your head thinking this chick would have zero clue and even if she fixed one issues eventually she will have to call a professional because she doesnt have the education much less knowledge and field experience of even the newest tech!! I think most professional would agree that Homeowner need to call a professional before they take on something like HVAC repair. Yet you guys don't adhere to your advice and launch your own TH-cam not realizing not only will you never be a successful TH-camr but you are also hurting your HVAC career. Support your local SB and hire a professional... or stop the madness thinking brand management is a side hustle. Hire a professional and make sure you verify education. Theres a lot of people who think YT is a tripod and camera. I mean you dont have to hire locally but I find once you establish a relationship the whole quid pro quo always comes up. ..again I dont say this to be mean. Im the first to admit I am not an HVAC tech, plumber or laundry list of things I hate having to pay someone else for because they are the professionals. Idk why people think turning on a camera and even buying fancy tripods is all you need. You have 10k views and 50 comments i dont even need to read your analatics to know nobody is watching your videos. The 50 comments you have are negative or advice from people who also have no clue. Hire a professional in your area. Or dont youtube. Not only are you ruining any chance of a TH-cam video it reflects poorly on your actual business and makes you look like a quack. If thats your goal keep doing what your doing. But if your goal is to build your business and online presence hire a professional. I guarantee anyone in your area who thought of calling your company and saw your TH-cam went elsewhere. Again I am not trying to be mean. Hire a professional and they will tell you the exact same thing and bill you a few hundred bucks...Dont hire off Fiver or upwork and for the love of god dont pay anyone offering their services on IG.
Keep your pipe/tubing clean. Use black fittings not galvanized, which is code. It also didn't look like you used the correct pipe dope.
Here in Michigan, the code is Galvanized. Or black pipe that is painted. I didn't realize that there is a certain pipe dope that needs to be used, and been using this style of pipe dope for 32 years without any issues. So I don't know what you are smoking?
I am thinking of a generac 22kw. Will this generator provide power to a family home with a 200amp service and connected from the home a shop with its own 60 amp panel?
It should. If in doubt go to the 24 kW I'm not an electrician. I would have an electrician figure that one out. Just to be safe. 😬
Thanks! Good stuff. My house has one of these and I like to be prepped. Stocking some of these common failure points.
That’s good!
Go check out our latest short video we swapped this old Bryant out with an Armstrong.
The heater is above the vent how’s that going to work?
Working just fine. Draft inducer, that's how.
Bad valve fixed or replaced?
Replaced under warranty.
It'd be nice if someone was explaining what was going on....all I'm getting is some guy fiddling with wires and a screw driver.
I don’t understand how someone can casually sit in front of a piece of equipment that has the potential to kill you. I am always positioned a in a defensive posture when I’m working on all types of equipment. I can always move quickly if necessary.
If it's propane, yes, natural gas, not so much.
Usually those honneywell smart valves are trouble..but not this time..someone obviously had blower our but did not re install correctly
Thanks, you solved my issue. Did everything but transformer. Will follow your post. Also, at the end of the videos can you explain the ( Why) on how it was done. Thanks again, Ch
I try to explain the why but sometimes I forget.
LOL LOL LOL boy couz you are the best love your videos but this one rocks ,,,,,,,,,lol
Hardstart
Ok my heater is on but it's not heating up the house, what do I do?
Check the air filter. Is it even trying to come on? Flames, blower?
A portable generator has to be 10 Ft away from the house, generac doesn't.
Locally we have been told not to use galvanize pipe for gas, black only. Any thoughts?
Every jurisdiction is different.
Worst video ever can't hear what he saying back ground noise out of this world
It's about time to send that rag out to pasture 😂
Hello, This video is helpful. Could please share the part number for the igniter?

Thank you for saving me an expensive service call for the rubber 90 elbow that needs adjusting to prevent short cycling on my brand new 96% Goodman because it keeps the 1st stage pressure switch from closing. Goodman needs to fix this problem immediately!!!!! If they don’t I will never buy another Goodman furnace! I worked on the furnace for days! Until I came across your video you are my hero man!! Thanks so much!!!!!
I have the same furnace! Brand new! I installed the furnace myself. Kept getting a EE2 code for pressure switch, jumped the switch out and furnace ran full cycle. But noticed gurgling when the inducer motor started. I thought it was normal. Anyway ordered new pressure switch. Now that I have come to your video i’am confident the condenser water is the problem causing switch to remain open! I’am going to adjust the rubber elbow to level down like you did to drain the water out of it and stop backup of condensation water! I’am not a trained hvac guy. I’am a retired guy who just can’t afford to pay a contractor to install a new furnace and I have no problem doing it myself, i’am not happy with Goodman as I thought they were a good brand. They should send a replacement upgraded rubber elbow to all the people that bought that model. Anyway I haven’t adjusted my elbow yet on my furnace but i’am confident that you have the fix! Thank you and keep your videos coming!!!
I had a 22kw Generac unit installed 2 yrs ago. Good unit. I changed the oil/filter late summer of 2024.
I'm lucky and have electrical contractor take care of the oil changes for me.
Yes indeed, that's exactly what's wrong with my GE Motor ECM. It's brunt to a crisp, blew burnt plastic smell through the house vents and shut down the blower motor. With no identifying numbers on the Thermistor, how do I find the right one?
How big is your ECM motor what hp?
You`re a life saver! Yes, Adjusting the Flue Elbow angle fixed my furnace shutting off/restarting intermittently when trying to get up to temp, only 1 year old goodman. after several service calls, I fixed it myself.
That's awesome!
I just ordered one. Hope it works good. Unsure about that carrier or icp really putting out that much co though, unless it was the early icps that split the top of the primaries open.
This one smells very Pungy!
@ADVANHVAC on propane? Yeah shame on carrier. They don't rot the secondaries anymore, now they rot the primaries!
@AmericanFarmerHVAC2024 This one was about 14 years old and was on natural gas.
The only thing I don’t like is the line set cover colour should be matched with the exterior colour
Eat a lot of beans the night before service calls, that keeps the helicopters away fact
😂
Your videos are amazing. I really like it. I am a new subscriber to your channel. Can I talk with you?
Simple fix my arse !!! And your video almost put me to sleep...
Ours runs just fine on AC but the minute it's switched over to heat; the heat pump or to emergency it trips the breaker. Ugh. We had it installed brand new in 2023 and it's not even 18 months of us using it. I changed the batteries in the thermostat. No idea what's wrong.
Dead short somewhere if its tripping the breaker.
I think manufacturing home furnaces are loud like this. I was told by the gas company that came out to check mine that I could insulate. But there's no room for insulation fun times. Probably gonna need a blower soon sadly. Also I do hear less noise after you did something to the wires. If I couldn't really tell what you did, or I would try it myself l o l
Some technician may dispute my solution to this problem, which I believe is a high speed, high volume blower. I don't want to change the dynamics of the furnace, but I don't want a jet airplane taking off every time the furnace starts. I have a double louvered access door, floor to ceiling in front of my furnace. I covered the top half with a common throw rug. I don't believe this will significantly reduce the air flow, and tho I don't have a decibel meter, I believe the noise is lower by at least 1/3.
👍🤠!! Do you have any advice on a ECM motor. Fan runs all the time. I’ve got it down to losing 24V plug to the motor or the heat relay? It’s still under warranty but I also read I just can’t replace the module, the whole motor has to be replaced. Ugh!!!!
That's correct the newer motors you have to replace the entire thing.
Holy trip hazard!!
Not at all.
Thanks!
Thank you!
I had problems with my Amana. I replaced the igniter and the flame detector. Didn't fix it. Then I saw that the control board flashed four times. Then I checked the continuity for the primary limit control and the auxilliary limit control. Good continuity. Then I read the wiring diagram and checked the circuit resistance for the inducer blower vacuum switch by sucking on the hose to the switch. The resistance varied from zero to 500 ohms. So I then replaced the inducer pressure switch and now my furnace works like new. The pressure switch is tied into series with the primary and auxilliary limit switches. When the pressure switch had high resistance, the igniter would not light up, or sometimes it would light up for a very short period, and even sometimes it would light the flame and then the furnace would flame out and occasionally it would work fine. A 21 year old pressure switch was a real pia.

Add 10 years.
@ADVANHVAC wow! Seems like a nice guy, I wish him happy birthday. Also thanks for posting the video on cleaning the sensor, I woke up with no heat today, and thanks to you, I have heat now!
LMAO! The guy just wanted a BOSCH logo to match.
Very nice man, I learned something today.
That's one tool I haven't got yet. I will be buying one soon. Thanks. Merry Christmas
MAN IT IS SO EASY TO ACCESS EVERYTHING COMPARED TO MY 1996 Bryant 90 Plus
So Bosch doesn’t use 24v?
It does.
Horizontal connect is too long. All I hear is a snap
It's not going to snap if a 200lb person jumps on it. But Why would they jump on it?
Nonsense design. There is no where for 2” of water to drain, it just permanently sits at the base of the back cover below the secondary heat exchanger tubes. Mine only last 8 years before it sprung a leak. I was shocked to see how much rust was on the inside when I removed the cover. Hopefully I get more than 8 years out of the low grade (magnet 18-8) ss cover. Never buying a JCI product again.
If you slow down the blower do you have to worry about the heat exchanger getting too hot?
Yes, if you slow it down too much, it could start going off at a high limit. This is why it's good to do a temperature rise. Take a probe thermometer, stick it in one of the nearest supply registers, wait about a minute, and write that number down. Then, go to the return and write that number down. The difference is your rise. You should be what the manufacturer suggests.
I thought I was going crazy. I was hearing the faint sound of screechy music like the theme from The Three Stooges or La Cucuracha. No tv, no radio - but I clearly heard goofy scratchy music. Then I realized I only heard it when the fan kicked on. Saved me a trip to the psychiatrist but had me hating the noise even more. (It's bad when you need to watch tv with the remote in your hand to constantly adjust volume.) I asked chatgpt what I should do to dull the noise and it suggested putting sound absorbing material on the walls in the laundry area or framing out a door all the way up to the vaulted ceiling. No thanks to both. Which is why I'm here. Now I need to figure out if that's the solution for me and if I can do it. I'll kind of miss my Mexican Hat Band but I'll enjoy watching tv again.
That's funny, do you have a newer manufactured home furnace with this type of blower? If so grab the manual and do what I did. Hopefully, that will help your music lol. Please turn off the power first. 😬
