    Just an update to everyone on the spa!!! Please read!! After 1 and a half years of use the spa still holds air and doesn't leak! The paint on the inside has faded some and the lid does not hold air! This last weekend went out there and found it was completely shut off went to find out why and saw my GfCi was tripped! I reset it and went out to the spa and turned on the bubbles and the pump, everything worked great until it hit the heater button..... instantly my gfci in my house tripped again! Thought the plug might have gone bad so I replaced the gfci plug in my house and the plug on the hot tub! Unfortunately the problem was not fixed! I took the entire pump unit apart and found I have a dead short across the heater element! This is not something you can replace! Unfortunately I've ruled this hot tub dead and will be giving it to a friend to use as a coy pond! The pump and the air pump still works just fine but once you activate the heater it will tril the circuit it's on! I found it strange however that the gfci on the unit itself never tripped, it always was the gfci in my house. Still I only paid 230$ for the thing and got plenty of good use out of it!

    $599 on Amazon 03/14/2021. But after reading all these comments and watching videos I don’t think it’s a good investment. It’s basically going to cost me a hundred bucks a month, because it seems like most people use it for about six months until something goes out on it.

    • @soumyadastidar8732
      @soumyadastidar8732  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Definitely didnt cost me 100$ a month, I barely noticed it was there most of the time, I'd say me energy bill went up maybe 5$ but honestly wouldn't even be able to truly tell the difference, costed me way less than it cost now so I see how that works, overall the thing did die on me after 2 hard use seasons and I put very little into it to maintain it.

    So if the waters green ... you turn it on and wait 3 days and it will do all the filtering for you? Sorry if it sounds stupid I literally have no idea about these things

    • @soumyadastidar8732
      @soumyadastidar8732  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If the water was green, that means it was off for quite a while, I did manage to wipe off the walls, clean the filters and add some extra blue chlorine. This brought the water back to a clear however the smell didnt fully go away, I would personally recommend just drain the water at that point and tighten up your obedience on restarting it.

    Has anyone thought about hooking this pump up to a real hot tub? Probably just a couple PVC pipe connections would do it. 🤔

    • @soumyadastidar8732

      Well I've now had the hot tub for 2 years and just last month unfortunately I declared the control unit dead! The pump still works to this day along with the air pump for the bubbles, however when the heater is activated the gfci (or braker ) trips immediately, I tried to replace the plug on the unit, replace the heater, replace the plug in my house and the braker in the house all with no luck, my best guess would be the control unit itself has shorted out or has just decided to retire permanently! So Um Ya..... replacement parts are technically not available, the only way to fix this would be to purchase a whole new electrical unit, aka the egg looking box! Individual parts are not available, customer support is also non existent, so in conclusion the tub is dead permanently for me, my buddy has taken it and turned it into a non heated coy pond! Could still be used as a pool I guess but I dont care for that! After 2 years of serious use in temperatures below what the manual said was usable, I'd say I got my money's worth! Yes I did only pay 250$ for it from Amazon and I really didnt have to do anything special to maintain it other than reset it every 3 days! Hope this gives you all the information you were looking for!

    • @soumyadastidar8732
      @soumyadastidar8732  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      You could totally do that is you can get one that is heavy duty the only problem would be when the tube loses power the tub doesn't turn back on without actually turning on the control unit and setting the temperature again, so the answer is yea but unfortunately it would be useless!
