Last night I participated in a Jumping Show and I directed traffic so that spectators could come and watch. It was hard. Next Year I am show Jumping with my 23 year old QHxPaint cross mare! So Excited!!🥳😆

The 5yo im helpign train cantered off with me yesterday. 2 weeks ago id had a massive confidence knock on him because he took completely control when i tried to jump him and almost fell off 3 times So yesterday i wanted to take things slow, only walking and trotting and some trot poles, no jumping or anything. After walking the whole arena once, he got bored and trotted extremely wuickly snd suddenly out of no where, not listening to the signals i was giving and cantered off. Almost crashed into the other hirses in the arena and the fence, SOMEHOW sat it really nice though lol It was a short canter, but VERY strong and speedy. Managed to take control once my internal panic stopped and i realised i was holding my breath and he slowed down and stood for a little while though

Imagine if i fell off today" And i indeed DID fall off lmao The 5yo im helping train, whom i mentioned in the last comment, was being a bit difficult to jump. He gets easily excited about jumping, he absolutely loves it. But that means he obviously gets harder to handle and turn etc. He finally went over one jump but forgot to pick his back legs up and one got caught on the pole. His entire back end went down, i honestly thought he fell completely but he stood immediately. Probably spooked himself by doing all of that and did one of those quick side steps to the side. I went on the side of the saddle which spooked him further and he did like a jump and buck. I landed underneath another horse which spooked that horse too and he kicked my leg that i landed on, but not too bad thankfully. The girl on him fell off too, i felt so bad cus it was her first time riding thst horse 😭
