Etg is notorious for fake adverts. From AI artworks to using other games, to just flat out not showing any type of relation to the game
bad games do bad ads game pretty but so dam expensive u cannot buy anything without real money in game and if u buy all tack is useless

The language in the 2nd Star Stable clip was Dutch, and they were basically saying: Stop dreaming, start riding. What are u doing, Get online and get on that horse JEEZ.

i uninstalled etg some time ago they did a really bad job with their discord and scammed alot of their community and i wont go on supporting this game at all

Me who used a horse as a reference to make a wendigo wolf walk on my animation, noticed how people call dog/wolf running a lope, and how Americans say lope for a canter, and finding no difference between a dog and horse walk but every difference in a horse to cat walk

Ugh, poor ETG. However we might all know that making a video game is hard, keeping hackers and new tech out is harder. That's what takes the money away, not the actual video game creating process. Great video!
The problem is that ETG is a good game, it just needs some love. I love the artwork, the animations, it just needs some work done to it.

Thank you for explaining the problems with AI art generators so well! I'm not against AI in and of itself but there needs to be better regulations and protections in place so human artists aren't being constantly screwed over. I'm already seeing mobile games that are clearly using entirely AI generated artwork and it's so disheartening as an artist. And I'm not even anyone noteworthy but it really makes me sad and scared for the industry and the artists I'm seeing more and more who are having their works stolen or are being laid off and replaced by AI, it's starting to happen with the writing community too.
Absolutely, it would be a completely different story if artists were getting big fat paychecks from AI firms to use their art to teach the AI, but sadly that isn't the case.
- music is POWERFUL even in ads that first star stable ad couldve been so much better with music which changed with the scene
- honestly having content creators in ads is also a good idea because if they see your face and connect you as some who PLAYS the game on a regular basis you instantly have more credibility meaning people (i atleast) are more likely to download

2:18 subtle but important clarification- this is generative AI. “AI” is a very broad term and many forms of “artificial intelligence” (better called machine learning as true artificial intelligence does not exist yet) exist and there’s nothing wrong with the vast majority of them, but specifically the kind that can generate images and texts like explained here is called “generative AI”. so “AI” as a whole is not problematic, generative AI is. (also, thank you for not calling it “AI art” lol as algorithms cannot create art, they’re AI generated images.) otherwise you are SPOT ON especially in pointing out why generative AI is so bad, so thank you!!

i must say that rival stars cross country makes me chuckle. the rainbow sparkle effects really give me "12 yr old horse girl makes an edit of her favourite lesson pony" vibes
As awful as those adverts are they're unfortunately not breaking any laws regarding false advertising because the game itself is free to download, if the app required you to pay up front then it'd be a different story and they can be sued for falsely advertising things that aren't in the game.
However they can get in trouble if the AI is found to have used images that are Copyrighted as some artists can sue them if they find traces of their own art within the image, after all AI Art is NOT protected by Copyright due to the nature of it's creation and many game devs ban the use of AI in their games along with even Steam rejecting any projects that use AI Art.
Either way they're still digging their grave deeper and deeper, it's so frustrating and disappointing because I seriously wanted to love this game and followed it's development until then..

I think ads really reflect how a company communicate to their customers. It’s important to educate ourselves to see how a company present their product.
ETG have been very sketchy about their ads and repeating to people they took care of the misrepresentation that their ads shared and then followed by not doing it, reveals a lot about their transparency and honesty.

Absolutely! While the game isn't my cup of tea, I know there is a big community who really love game and it's their own community who are being let down by this.

This is a breach of trust for me so I don’t see myself supporting them anymore. I unfortunately don’t see them go for the better and establish a healthy relationship with their player anymore 🥲

As a swedish/finnish person I was just about to angrily comment that it was NOT swedish nor finnish since I couldn't find any comments talking about it but you saved me! Also, didn't know it was dutch, it did sound somewhat similar to danish imo but maybe I just don't talk enough to danish people to recognize it properly.
As a SSO player, I agree that the ads could’ve been a little better during that time range. Of course, they have updated a lot since then, and have made the game more realistic, and definitely included more color and graphics! ❤ (Of course, I love Abigail so much, and I even watch Rattle now lol, so I’m not hating at all 😅)

with the AI point, you dont even need to PAY to get these images, there are free apps on mobile that generate anything you type in (or add a photo of your choice) and create whatever you want, all free...

Abigail, you showed so many "early access" horse games, which I enjoyed. But for me it's sooo hard to decide which one is really good. What horse game, would you say, is really worth buying at the moment? Is there even any? And what comes to the reason the "star stable news" ended, was because Ylva did everything, editing, sound etc. And she actually got a burnout every week since then, so the sso ceo decided to stop the news, as Ylva's health was unfortunately dying... Rapidly... And even if they continued it, they would have changed the blondish girl, because she left sso.

Another huge issue with AI is the environmental impact. The pollution caused by the server farms needed to run the AI generators is something that doesn't get talked about enough.

The SSO add that sounds Afrikaans, was Dutch. But in a very weird voice like someone is kind of shouting ( Being overly enthousiastic) with a high pitch voice lol. Wouldn't recommend listening to a voice like that for longer than those 10 seconds lol.

I'm still convinced that mobile game ads are generally made to make you click on the ad/get the game instead of representing the content accurately.
Similar to how comercials for cereals are filled with upbeat music and action paired with mascots: That ain't included in the cereal, but it sure makes your kids interested in wanting to buy them, right?
It's better to never expect what you see in a mobile game ad. Because even the good games will clickbait you with amazing cinematics and graphics when all it really is ingame is a pixel, round-based fighting (or rather click-button-to-bonk-enemy-with-sword) borderline idle game.
It's sad, but still reality.
They don't even have to pay for it Midjourney is an AI art tool that is currently free to use as it's still in the beta phase. So they aren't even paying firms.
ETG was one of the first horse games I played but after a while I got bored of it because there's really nothing to do and to get tack you might need like bell boots you have to spend real money and also I don't understand why they have dressage in the game if you can't actually do dressage shows and it's very hard to make money in the game😅

About 6-7 years ago I tried starstable and just found it terrible in graphics and super boring. To roam past the initial area you have to pay and I am just not into having to pay to play a story like that when there's nothing to do.

Rival Stars does have some of the best visuals, which is very tempting. But I will never support horse racing in any form.

Most horse game ads are so very cheesy. They - for the most part - aim for a younger audience though so I get it. I only play one horse game and it's Rival Stars mobile (i personally hate desktop) because it seems to be aimed to a more mature audience. You don't get unicorns and pink horses and sparkles you know? The main reason that game has kept my attention though is the graphics. It has the best horse graphics I've seen in a mobile game ever and even outside of that I can only think of RDR as being obviously better (but not comparable considering - well oh so much).
