@@longbeachmushrooms Something I am just now trying to figure out is shocking to induce pinning. As someone who is also in a hot climate, do you have to shock to start pinning? If so how do you do so at volume?
@@stormagorist6129I don’t cold shock my chestnuts and they do great! I’ve found they need higher humidity than most to get going. And a long incubation time.
Great job, I was wondering if you're throwing out your spent substrate after harvest? I wanted to come down and fill up my truck with some of your spent bags so I can Incorporate them into my Permaculture food forest. I'd like to figure out the logistics please
Thanks for the great content! I’m getting my farm going and in the middle of the split AC setup. Can you let me know what brand AC split you use and tonnage/btu? 😎
I use mr cool since I can install them myself. When calculating btus for your incubation, calculate the square footage and also take into account how many bags you’ll have in the room. I calculate 4btus per bag.
@@longbeachmushrooms I just got a 12,000 btu (1 ton) Mr Cool and am swapping it out for a 2 ton unit. The 1 ton didn’t seem to cool very much at all and I only have 400 sqft.
Keeep on keeping on brother
I’m excited to do this one day too!
Your making great progress, it must be so much better for you to be working from one location.
It definitely is a game changer for us!
Great insights!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Thanks for the videos.. I am trying to build my own set up, but I am a long way from sales. It helps to see your progress.
You got it! Let me know what content you’d like to see in the future!

Specifically I am working with chestnuts this time, but I've been growing lions mane, and oysters without shocking

@@longbeachmushrooms Thanks. Mine seemed to quickly take over the substrate. some are in the fruiting room so I'll see how they do.

Yes!
We give our spent substrate away every Saturday from 8-10!
How are you cooling the tents
Do you have solar panels (or a possibility to install some) to make your business even more sustainable?

@@waterdog4433 how many blocks are you incubating
@@longbeachmushrooms For now, it will be around 100 and plans to get to 400 if I can incubate 100 on each of my 5 tier shelves.
@@waterdog4433 add that to your btu calculation. 4btu per bag
