- From the Terrace is a 1960 American drama film directed by Mark Robson and starring Paul Newman, Joanne Woodward, Myrna Loy, Barbara Eden, Ina Balin, and Leon Ames.
The screenplay was written by Ernest Lehman based on the 1958 novel by John O'Hara that tells the story of a the estranged son of a Pennsylvania factory owner who marries into a prestigious family and moves to New York to seek his fortune.

Paul & Joanne were really wonderful together on screen.

For people who don't think Joanne was attractive, this film dispels that myth. She' very glamorous in this film.

They got married just after this picture. No wonder their marriage lasted 50 years until Paul died in 2008.
It seems that they got married in January of 1958 and this movie was released in July of 1960, @Joe 6868. I suppose they could have filmed it long before its release date. That sometimes happens when circumstances cause a long delay in releasing a film. At any rate, they look like they’re still on their honeymoon here. ☺️

Yes Jo Anne looked pretty good here!! But she usually wore bangs that did not do anything for her looks and her hair was better long!! She always wore old lady clothes!! Not my cup of tea or her ..husband!! I like tall men !! He was 5ft9.. I am 5ft 7 inches!! Gregory Peck and William Holden !! Those two are my personal Favorite s!
