    Thanks for the shout out and yes I did do the original climbing mechanic, but Malcolm Nixon takes the credit for improving it to the version you're using in your game :)

    Seeing how you made those rungs, you should probably use "bridge edge loops" for stuff like that. Has a ton of useful settings and is much cleaner. Just put a copy of the origin point at a 90° angle where you want the curve to go and you are good.

    Are you going to do the thing when the hand “glues” to the ladder in a fixed clutches position until you let go?

      For now I want to get all my systems working (in at least a basic form) and then at some point I want to go through and make things look better. It definitely looks a lot cooler when the hand actually fixes itself onto the thing you're grabbing so that is something I'd look to do in the future 👈👈🤖

      @@Blekoh Cool. Have you run into any issues with the 3D that has made you look into Godot 4 yet?

    • @Blekoh
      @Blekoh  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@torq21 Nope hah not really it runs pretty well and looks about as good as I would expect lol. Godot 4 has a lot of breaking changes so I would have to redo quite a bit to convert it to a Godot 4 project. As much as I’d like to take advantage of the new renderer we’ll see if I convert it at some point or not. But I wouldn’t even consider it till it has a stable release
      The only reason I updated to 3.5 is because I wanted to use the new nav features for some enemies and even then 3.5 broke some features as well
      It still looks cool though I’ll use it for something at some point lol 👈🏻👈🏻🤖

    how do you avoid nausea while playing?

      I don’t get motion sickness playing vr games but the game does support some things that reduce motion sickness for people who do:
      -For one, the movement can be set to warp movement instead of moving around smoothly which is a big reason people feel sick
      -Also, vignetting can be enabled so that while turning it vignettes the outer vision (blacks out peripheral vision) which actually helps a lot as well since turning is the biggest reason people feel sick playing in vr
      Unfortunately though at the end of the day some people still won’t be able to play even with everything turned on to reduce motion sickness which is a huge downside of vr games. But I’m kinda just making this game because I think it’s cool so I have to accept it’s not for everyone

      @@Blekoh damnit, I've tried using the warp feature, the vignette feature, and even the cage feature in other VR games and even with weed I can't last more than 30 minutes. more power to you tho! cheap consumer omnidirectional treadmills when?
