- For hundreds of years arms and armour played an important role in the education of elite children. Boys in particular learned how to use both in preparation for their entry into the adult male world and their future responsibilities as warriors and leaders.
Join Keith Dowen, Curator of Arms and Armour at the Wallace Collection, as he examines some of the armours and weapons made for them and discusses the wider social contexts in which they were used.
It amazes me how much of these traditions were still kept were I was born in the American South. I fired my 1st gun a 3, got my 1st broken bone at 4 by being thrown from my horse, had learned to fence epee & saber by 12. I descend from a Sir Johnathan Owen so I'm guessing that's where my family got the tradition from.
shoutout to my mom shoutout to my dad
God bless your soul))
I was wondering whatever happened to Toby Capwell. Congrats to you Doctor Dowen.
Frustrating to watch this on TH-cam and not be able to go up to room 3 after this is over XD
