Great review, appreciate your perspective, although their previous album, It Takes A Nation of Millions (1988), is generally considered their masterpiece. Check it out sometime!!

great that i found this vid on MLK day. as a latina woman, allyship with the black community in the fight against white supremacy and all the systemic structures that uphold it is very important to me. as groups we share similar struggles.
also, this is one of my fav albums of all time, especially the title track. i'm actually a little mixed, 25% polish. but my mexican features and experiences make me "not white." that song always makes me think of how white supremacy is so irrational and evil.
'911 is a joke' relates to my experiences as well, since my family is from a minority area in detroit where the police department is rightfully regarded with cynicism and has a track record for late response times.

This response is the reason I do this. What an auspicious reminder for today. Thanks so much for the gift of your perspective.

The Bomb Squad production was next level at the time. When one of the creative goals was to "create discomfort" you know you are trying to get a certain message into the mind of the listener.

You have a great little statue of Frank Zappa on the bookshelf?! Where did you get that??? I want one! (Also, FOABP is probably one of the most played albums I've ever owned. Thank you for this little review.

You are welcome - and the statue is actually Neil Peart circa 1977. A present from my wife, who is clearly awesome.

I started to watch it and then you started a disclaimer that you should never have to do… Virtue signalling my friend not good. Because of that I had to stop watching your video and I was very interested.

Thanks for bringing that to my attention. I'll attend to that in my future posts.
