  • This one is a chunky profile coffee table. The only design request is that it has the finish of the longboard skateboard I made out of pallets. Another enjoyable build and more new things learnt. Enjoy and thanks for tuning in

I've spent the last 3 days milling up 25 pallets, sliced each slat in two. Busy with glue ups. Already got three nice planer sized blocks 1m x 30cm x 35mm. Dont know what I'm gonna build with this, but I'm loving the look. Thanks for the idea mate, lumber is so over prized ATM this a great way to make pretty and usable stock. Another great excuse to pass home time in the shop. 👍

G'day mate , there is a picket fence calculator you can get online that will give you the measurements of the slats that you made the under shelf with, you just enter the dimensions and it tells you the distance you need to space things at ,it only takes 2 secs to do and is accurate. Cheers from Victoria mate.

This table arrived well packaged and on time. th-cam.com/users/postUgkxn94T8Mu1iMnsLCMNOI9srXSsLkI4JXKW Like another reviewer advised, I pulled everything out and made sure everything was included (everything was!). I built it alone and it took me about an hour. The color is great and for the price the lift part works well. As others have mentioned, it’s not the smoothest opening/closing, but it works. The screws do show, but I plan to order white sticker covers if that bothers us too much. Really happy with this table! UPDATE: it’s been over a year since we got this coffee table and we still love it! It gets HEAVY use as our dining table, foot rest, and school desk. Over time, the opening and closing mechanism has gotten smoother. I added a new photo with the white screw cover stickers. They blend in perfectly and make it look a little cleaner. 100% recommend!!!

If you have sam's near you get the Elmers glue for really cheap I pay 4.99 for the gallon at sams anywhere else even Walmart it is 10 to 15 dollars a gallon! It is just like wood glue but white and dries clear once you cure it boom great to hold. And most projects are covered in some kind of poly or lacquer anyway. Your joints look great! I'm gonna have to try them!

@@perindneI'm so sorry but sometimes my "get a life" detector pops out. How about you go get a life and not correct such a minor and pointless error. Nobody, absolutely nobody on the internet wants or needs comments like this. Especially on a channel that is about learning. If this is the kind of comment you feel you need to post maybe find a better meaning to your life. 99% of the time I'd say reading is good but maybe you should actually STOP reading dictionaries daily and find out what people actually use as conversation topics. If you are the kind of person who corrects other people at a party I will be impressed they actually invited you and it wasn't a group message with you accidentally in it.

Hey Mark! Big fan of your videos here. I was wondering, when you glue up the boards face to face like that, do you need to account for wood movement when you attach them to the legs / frame? I see that you use those figure eights in this case, but any experience from other tables? I'm just getting into these sort of glue ups, and in my research I found that the expansion seemed to be mainly across the width of the boards.
