- Another Minnesota Duck Hunting opener has come and gone. Here is the video once again on the weekend. The Family Tradition continues. Great time, awesome campfire food and duck hunting. Graphic warning, we will be shooting some ducks.
You are truly a lucky man to spend such quality time with your chidren! Camping and hunting with family is priceless.

another outstanding adventure, I really enjoy watching your videos. You do a wonderful job capturing all the different parts of your adventures and it is like we are there with you from being to end, no story line missing. I was waiting for this video all year... The weather was probably the biggest factor for the duck numbers... Happy Birthday Sara!! ...Can't wait for "Deer Hunting 2016 (The Movie)"... Hopefully ya'll get one this year
joe , you must love ducks or duck hunting. after watching all the prep work im guessing any duck you get will be worth at least $100.00 a pound. loving the outdoors is special but im afraid the new generation will never enjoy what you and your family do. great and thank you.

Awesome video, and happy belated birthday to Sarah. Look forward to this video every year and like how you always seem to change it up. Its great to see the tradition you guys have and the history. Love how you light the oil lamp in memory of your grandfather. This is what hunting is all about. This year was tougher because work is super busy for me and the week before I flew to Louisiana and worked all weekend on the house then flew back Monday night, back to work Tuesday thru Thursday then back on the road for duck hunting. The weekend prior to Louisiana I went to the tent. I feel like I have not had a "Day Off" in weeks lol.
Must be a lot of Grouse their eh! That’s pretty cool. Here around Phoenix, AZ there’s tons and tons of quail, tons of rabbits and doves which is awesome!!!

Even though my Dad is 72 and in great health we always are happy every year he joins us up there. I have one of his picture albums that has pictures from the first trip to that spot. It was in 1953. Thats a long family tradition.. You just never know. Thank you Rodney. Joe

That is living! It is more of a social occasion than a stock up of meat. Fantastic to see the family involved and enjoy it. Congratulations, you are doing it right.
I always enjoy relaxing with your videos. One suggestion to your gear load out: take a wheelbarrow. Great for hauling gear from truck to site, and also for hauling firewood from where you cut it to the camp.

we need more Ladies like Sarah, down here in Southern Ontario, she does everything(like gutting a deer or cleaning ducks, fish, we say Partridge, etc. And you guys all work as a family (or you just edit the arguments ,lol) keep up the great work and excellent videos

Thanks for making the "movies." I really enjoy watching / listening to them while I work. It's been MANY years since I have been hunting (and not sure when / if I will ever do it again) so it's nice to enjoy the experience through your videos.
Why did you stop hunting?
It's never too late to start hunting again!
I would go with family members when I was younger. When I went out on my own I didn't keep up with it and, as life got busier (work, children, etc.) it just fell lower on the priority list.

Nice. Looked liked a lot of fun. Deer season is just around the corner, can't wait. Just wanted to let you know that my husband got his antelope. I put a picture of it as my profile picture. He got a nice buck. Now we have some excellent meat in the freezer. :)

Love going duck hunting with your family! Our shelter is always full of Labs! I will rescue one for you! BLACK OR YELLOW......you just let me know and I will send on the plane. Not a replacement for Max, just a new beginning. He was such a good boy! Blessings Joe!

Not one mallard at all. Mainly woodys, a couple teal and some early rings. It needs to cool down a bit and then the flight will begin. Thanks Corey. Joe

Awesome video as always. Our duck opener where i live in norther NY State opens Oct 8th. Can't wait to go. On a side note, that grate you used to cook with over the fire, i have one of those i bought from walmart this past summer, those work great don't they? Have a safe 2016 hunting season!
I like the warning, on a duck hunting video, that "we will be shooting some ducks." It's polite and gentlemanly.

I have the same folding fire rack, they are so simple but once you use it you can't go without it. I always have to oil it up with vegetable oil because they tend to rust.
I have had many fire grates and I do believe this one seems to be the sturdiest I have used. It works very well. Thank you. Joe
