is there any chance that these videos could show the viewer a glimpse at the metrics after every pitch so we can better follow along? that would be awesome
Keep an eye out for some future videos. We can't retroactively add it to pens recorded a while ago, but have added it to bullpens with big leaguers in the past and some videos to be released soon. th-cam.com/video/8H6TmC4tXgs/w-d-xo.html th-cam.com/video/I1-CxhI40QA/w-d-xo.html
We were taught all the wrong things back in the day: push off the rubber with the back leg, keep your arm up, don't aim it, just throw strikes, just worry about command- velocity will come.... 😑
💯 I’m 28 & could touch 93 at 17 but I never got any legit coaching outside of the few tips I got from coaches during travel ball or when I did a few bullpens over the winter at a place called ERA
Would love to see a video where you get like one of these kids dads that knows nothing about baseball but is just supporting his kids sport and then see how fast y’all can get the dad to throw
Was really curious about his lower body mechanics? It seems like maybe there was still more to develop in the stride? Like most of the power war from the arm rather than the leg? But just never got the view to check
Wrong. Greg Maddux was a 1st Rd. Pick. He threw in the high 80's on a Ra gun in high school which is 3-5 mph slower than a jugs gun or 1st gen stalker. He was not a max effort guy like everyone one of these guys thats shown. Pitching at 90 with command like maddux did is a whole different thing
You cut to the "from behind" view too quick. It would help our 10U guys to see, from the front view, his foot land so we could stop action his hip/trunk/shoulders.
When our athletes are in-house, most of them are on a two bullpen per week schedule. The days vary from athlete to athlete. The warmups also vary. Here are a couple examples: th-cam.com/video/Af8Sn24NRsQ/w-d-xo.html th-cam.com/video/7_ajJSP5nf4/w-d-xo.html
I love that these tread guys have massive egos and get defensive being surrounded by more talented athletes everyday. Probably starts to take a toll on them.
It's different for everyone. There are instance where increasing intent is an easy unlock for some pitchers, while others muscle up and disrupt their sequencing. It comes down to understanding how your athlete operates and cueing them appropriately.
I don't understand this. I played semipro baseball in the Bill Speros Allstars leagues out of Memphis Tenn in 69-72. I had a 96 MPH fastball at 16 years old. A fast 18" breaking curveball that would trigger the bailout out mode most batters only to break over the plate ,Another curve thrown straight at the plate that broke out of reach, The catcher would have to dive to his right to catch it. So you better have our signals down. A slow pitch curve about 75MPH or slower. And two speeds of knuclke balls. We knew very well the idea of how to set a batter for a slow pitch and mess with their timing. You throw consistant 96 MPH fastballs in the strike zone and you are aiding he batters blast them out of the park! I had catchers that could and did burn me out! from a squatting position simply throwing the ball back. OUCH!!BAM!! and the dust would fly off my glove. When they threw it to second base from a squat the ball would SIZZLE over my head! Some of those outfeilders could throw over the backstop from 400FT ?out. Some could hit the plate from 400ft out much the amazement of a nite crowd. Why?? Its all we ever did and some us had pitchbacks in the back yard, You throw that ball a few million times and you get good at it!!
The reaction of the guy in the back at 04:27 is priceless, lol.

asked for that in a short, would be nice to see spin and movement plots
@@samurai_8917 Yeah. They should layer it out like a little window in the top right hand corner that displays the Rapsodo or Trackman screen.
You stay away from my recruit! Don’t worry about his metrics. Lol

This kid has a bright future…. Good luck to him, his consistency was sick..🎉🎉🎉
30 yr olds in the comments punching air because we never got coaching anywhere close to this good. What I would have given to have trackman in college

What took me a whole summer learning how to gain spin efficiency could have been done probably in a week today. Sucks

Coach would be like Uncle Rico, show you how to throw a ball and then be like, “throw it like that”
The consistency he gets with the armside run is insane
I've officially changed from loving this channel to being downright envious😳
Listening to victorious in the background is such a vibe

The slightly patronizing tone is absolutely hilarious to me
They're boys. It's all love!
Hurts my shoulder just watching this
Such a fun pen
This good coach/bad coach technique is interesting...
That 76 curve was wicked! It was all over the place.

Thanks for the video!!
Give him credit where it’s due. Greg Maddux barely hit 90 lol
I think those days are over. D1 colleges won't take a pitcher unless you're over 90 now. Even junior colleges. 90 just isn't a big deal anymore.

Love this coach!!
How much warm up do they do before throwing a 30pitch bullpen? And how many times a week are they throwing with full intent?
When our athletes are in-house, most of them are on a two bullpen per week schedule. The days vary from athlete to athlete. The warmups also vary. Here are a couple examples:

Investing in this guy now.
Where was this couch when I grew up n pitched
Trying to throw harder is the best way to go slower.. passive front would help more.

@@treadathletics Gotcha. My cues were usually stuff like drop and drive.. passive front.. weight back.. mechanics were always the key.
I blew my UCL just watching this

Technology is cool, but damn… good coaching is the best!

Take this kid over maxed out 93
I so wanna do this.
The kid is badass
Finish your headline
As a batter, I have a name for all of those pitches. They are called Home Runs.
😂
I'm assuming cuz you "Run Home" whining after going 0-3 w/ a weak ground out to 2nd, and 2 K's one swinging and one looking?
@@jeffrogers3876 No, they are Home Runs. Dingers. Moon shot. Bomb. Tater.
@@jeffrogers3876dudes idea of a grand slam is his daily breakfast platter at Dennys.
As a "PRO" hitter, which I was in the late 80's, they could turn this guy into something. His stuff was pretty electric for an intern. WTF!
The constant negative coaching and berating is counter productive. The coach needs to ro wash his nuts so he stops itching them.
