    I mean tax services like this only exist because of government corruption. The IRS could provide the same service like most other countries on earth and automatically fill out the forms for you since they already have access to all your information.

    I’ve always loved turbo tax. When my taxes were simple, it did the trick. But with more complicated taxes, I always recommend paying money fir a QUALITY accountant. And don’t skimp on the price.

      He did say their software works. It's all the spam you now get to upgrade services or get loans, credit cards, etc. I'm the type of person who hates being upsold on services or other products. I've used TT for years and every year they get worse on this front. Just like how at first Credit Karma was no frills, here's your score. Now all they do is try and get you credit cards or loans! I'm just about done with both those companies.

    Personally I wouldn’t do taxes if I had assets and more than one income. I think turbo tax is for the simplest taxes. Anything else I would do it w an accountant I would trust if I wasn’t knowledgeable enough to do taxes.

    Turbo tax charges more for filing and they show a less return on my tax returns. It’s always a good idea to look at other places before you actually file your taxes! I saved $4000 in tax returns because I didn’t use turbo tax.

    yeah, sounds like Turbo Tax wants a piece of the pie that is interest and payments. I understand how people might need to pay for expert advice to review the return but if you going to do that, might as well go to a local accountant and get them filed. TurboTax should at least be upfront about not all returns are "free". Missing that form sounds like its on the user, they should have notified someone or called asking how to include the form. I'm not sure if someone reviewing a random return would be able to determine you need to include it (don't know the requirements needed to include that form).

  • @Buchananmtrspts
    @Buchananmtrspts 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I've never had any issues, but using "free" software is gonna come with ads and products being peddled to you. Just be aware of that going in.

    Turbo tax does try to charge you for Deluxe but a tax professional i person was changing me $180 to file for me. He didn’t do it electronically only by mail so my refund was delayed. Turbo tax is really not perfect but you need to realize how much it costs anywhere else. Idk how to file taxes without the service.

    I feel like you guys are playing up the people that had issues and not considering all the people who don’t. Just like with the last video where the guy with the credit cards was saying that he was paying his card off every month but getting charged interest doesn’t make since. I usually really trust Dave Ramsey and his personalities, but these 2 videos really seem deceptive and tailored to your point of view. Instead of giving a realistic point of view and giving all the facts

      I very much agree. Even with this, they are transparent that the free part is only for simple returns if you read a little bit. At least before the “free, free free free, free” commercials. Not sure now as I use the paid self-employed version and dont pay attention to the free version

    I totally disagree that Turbo Tax is at fault. I’ve used Turbo tax for the past 20 years with zero issues personally, and I’ve used it for hundreds of others with zero issues. These people sounds like they were trying to prepare their own taxes with zero experience in doing so. Turbo Tax doesn’t know what your financial situation is and therefore only looks for uncompleted information like a birthdate, or SSN. Turbo Tax also does ask if you have health insurance, prior to the Job Act change where health insurance was required in 2020 it was not. However, if you received a tax from, you’re responsible to make sure you have entered that information before you file your taxes, not just send it anyway. Lastly because the IRS used your 2018 tax information to determine if you qualified for a stimulus check has nothing to do with Turbo Tax. You guys were totally being unfair with this podcast in my opinion.
