I honestly think with how popular Van Life has become the past 5 years, has made some of these companies like Scout go back to the drawing board with their campers and seeing how people are able to do so much with so little room.
I have always wanted a slide in camper in a truck so wherever I go, I have shelter. I am getting my new 2025 Tacoma this week or Monday, this will fit... I like it, one of these may be in my future. I can imagine traveling with the nice weather and being at home anywhere.
Very nice! A little short on storage but this is a small camper so acceptable trade off. Like location of fan, great for indoor cookling and cross ventilation.
Interesting that you have a dometic fridge/freezer but no way to heat thaw it. I suppose you can bring in a dedicated countertop induction stove top. Or just grill outside as the weather permits.
I like it but the Rayzr FB has air conditioning/heat and a fridge and is 2k less. Still a good build quality for a prepper. Only want one for prepping.

We must remember how retail works: companies need to manufacture, market, and sell products at a profit. Not only does the business itself need to make a profit, but the company responsible for selling the product does as well. Additionally, it’s important to note that these products are made in the USA by American workers, not by individuals overseas working under exploitative conditions.

This is a nice camper for sure but, this is not a $16,500 unit. No way and guaranteed because thats just the MSRP, dealers are asking quite a bit more. In that price range, why wouldn't I buy a larger bumper pull? The entire point of having a camper is to bring a small amount of luxury outdoors, smaller camper equals less luxury. If I am sacrificing luxury for something, it better be significantly lower pricing, which doesnt seem to be the case with ANY of these small campers regardless of type, make, model or even build quality. This doesn't cost much more than a bushwhacker teardrop so what incentive do I have to buy this? How about a cheaper 20ft bumper pull that's also in this price range? How do you manage to sell a new camper to anyone who doesnt simply have more money than brains? Please tell me? I made an offer on a used 2018 Tag Teardrop 2 years ago at Bretz over in Nampa and they had that trailer marked at MSRP for a 2022 model and REFUSED to come down on price at all. That has been my experience buying any camper from a dealership and I still dont have one. For all this trouble Ill stick with a $900 canvas tent and a woodstove.

The other, which mind you was 28k, is literally falling apart after a small roof look went unnoticed and will eventually be nothing more than an odd shped trailer. Now, i hang a hammock with a frame style tent-like tarp that is also a hot tent. A few hundred bucks and i couldnt be happier. The corporate greed from these RV manufacturers is insane. And the fact that theyre so nonchelant and not even willing to attempt to cover up the obvious poor quality says a lot. In fact, the ONLY manufacturer i have seen that is fairly priced and a GOOD (not great) product is Little Guy teardrop trailers.

What size truck bed, and power of engine would I need? 2. I saw the quasi bench thingy, is there anything that becomes a table? 3. Outlets? Charging ports? If I missed you covering these, again I apologize, I would be especially interested if there are any in the bed area as I use a BiPap machine. To those agog at the price, in quite a few videos I’ve seen on campers, trailers, etc. the presenter, after giving the MSRP, also mentions that the dealer price is significantly lower. 1. This will fit on a 5’ bed or larger. You would need a small-midsize truck. The Ford Maverick is the smallest truck that will accommodate this camper. 2. This model doesn’t have a table but opens up several aftermarket solutions if you wanted one. 3. You will have various USB outlets throughout but no household plugs. If you opt for the 500W inverter option you would have a plug for your machine. Scout is one of the few brands that has total control over their pricing. We don’t dictate that at all. Price really is what it is with these.

RVs, cars etc. look at 99% of camper and rv videos and all of the comments say the exact same thing. I understand how worthless the comments are that state this should be below $10k. I get it though, you can’t comment negatively on prices if you want to make content w/ brands
@@chancer194 In general, the markup is approx inversely ~ equivalent to the volume sold. The markup for Mcdonald's hamburger may be slim.. 1% to 3% but they sell 100s thousands of them. I don't think the volume sold of these campers are that high. You will probably will have a much higher markup or else it wouldn't make sense to sell them. 🤔
Nice but to much money. The heater unit outside the back door is a little scary, if it sparks a fire it's blocking an exit which I assume there is one window inside as an escape. Position of the refrig would rather it roll out from under that sink that has storage. No way would I pay $16500 for a base price I see. Oh love they had a Yeti bottle opener and a Dometic 12volt refrig. I guess Yeti's coolers didn't make the cut.
When they start making one that is not going to delam in two years I will then think about getting rid of my starcraft. Just saying these glued together panels suck

There is absolutely no storage in this camper. It's basically a weekend camper.
Considering this is designed to fit on everything down to a ford Maverick, they had to save on weight wherever possible.
