Absolutely loved watching the process of this! I've got my book picked and pages/pockets ready to be inked and glued. Now to do all the fun stuff! Thanks for the inspiration, Barbara! You're a pleasure to watch and listen to!
There is not one episode you've ever put out that I didn't love, but this series has to be hands down one of the best tutorials I have ever watched. Love your style, love your colors, but I confess you had me at the first episode I ever watched of you because of your accent! Love all your tutorials, keep them coming!
This book turned out just lovely and the very best part for me was when you figured out how to stencil the rose with watercolor. I was cheering with you and I will definitly give your new found technique a try. Sending a big hug.
you probably dont care but if you are stoned like me during the covid times then you can stream pretty much all the latest movies on InstaFlixxer. I've been binge watching with my gf lately xD
The trip you took us on transforming your book into that beautiful junk journal has been fabulous. So fun and educational. Thank you as always for your sunny disposition and sharing with us all your beautiful work! 😷🤗🥰❤️stay well!
❤ Beautiful and inspiring!! You are so proficient with collaging… you put them together so effortlessly! Also … I love that you are so meticulous!! 🎉🎉🎉🎉 Thank you
Wonderful!! I love that you include lace. I made my own wedding dress and it was all lace. Also, one of my favorite songs that you use in your background is WHAT CHILD IS THIS, Johannes. God Bless🙏💜
I have watched all 8 episodes and am in love with your ideas, creativity, and art! I will try my best to create a work of art in an altered book. Thank you so much for sharing with us! ❤🙏👍
Beautiful journal !!! I'm not often write comments, but your ribbon on 38.08 with butterflies has a words in Russian ;))) In Russian this phrase "В этот чудесный день" and in English it means like "In this wonderful day" Love all your videos! Thank you!!!
I really enjoyed this whole Victorian Altered Junk Journal series! You're so talented and enjoyable to watch AND a great journal teacher..... and I agree with your Triangle color matching in 3's
I just watched every episode from start to finish and you have truly inspired me to go to my goodwill and look for a book or two and start one. Your journal is absolutely BEAUTIFUL 💗💗💗 Thank You for sharing all the steps. I enjoyed it so much. Your truly talented 💕 Have a wonderful weekend 🌸💞
Barbara, thank you so much for all your inspiration in this altered book. I have enjoyed creating along with you throughout the process. Also the happy accident with the new technique of stenciling was amazing. I love the way my book turned out. 💕
I think this is my favorite book/journal!! But, I say that with every new one you create. I so enjoyed watching this series and look forward to the next. I seem to learn something new in each one.
Love, love this journal, so beautiful. Thank you Barbara for your inspiration and for sharing your talent with us. It makes us newbies hopeful of being able to ONE DAY maybe, doing something just as beautiful. (HOPEFUL!!!!!) Sending blessings and hugs. Diana Fox - Cape Town, South Africa.
I absolutely love this journal. When I was watching part 7 I was thinking 'why didn't she just add blue paint to the gesso'. Looks so much lovelier with the blue. You are so creative. I love how you experimented with the stencils and showed us the fails also in them and others through out the journal. Absolutely Gorgeous!!! Thank you for going through this book with us step-by-step. Last night I started tearing apart a book that had signatures actually sewn in and can see why you say to use glued in pages. I will continue with it as a practice run and use (washi) tape f (and glue?) on any pages that might want to come out. ☺♥
Barbara, This is fabulous! I loved going along for the ride and watching the amazing progress. You have so many goodies and your selections are great. I was pleased you put the word at the top of the one tag or journal card, I liked it there best, but I was sure you were going for the bottom. It tickled me you were so pleased with your stencils, they did look beautiful. The ribbon was tough too, but I loved your choice. All so lovely!
It turned out beautifully! I'm getting ideas from having your videos playing while I'm making my first one (to sell). So many great tips & experiments, thank you. I love the style you favour as well, very gentle and inviting.
I am so sorry this series is over. I have loved watching you produce this beautiful altered book. Your style is fresh and your laugh is lovely. I have learnt a lot. Please start another series soon. PS Can you please refresh my memory regarding the wax paste you used. Thank you Sue
Thank you Sue, so happy you enjoyed it! I will be starting my December Daily series soon 😃. Here is the wax: Prima Marketing Art Alchemy-Metallique Wax-Rich Copper (similar to what I use): amzn.to/2LAeMvC
Barbara I just have to tell you I loved this series and I’m on journal number two. I’ve made several kinds of journals but I think this is my fav. Thank you for the inspiration!❤️
Dear Barbara, this was a video of an emotional rollercoaster. Just when I yelled "Yayyyy, B. is using another distress ink than vintage photo" you went and covered it with gesso....Noooo, don't do it....Whyyyy? I admit the first outcome was a bit aggressive but you could have used a brush to soften it. So I thought the inner Barbara is resisting to change.....and then....! You used pink with that flower stencil (by the way this was an awesome technique, best discoveries come through accidents) and I said "Yes, hope is not lost". Conclusion: admit it, you are intrigued by change, hahahahahah. Thank you for a wonderful journal journey, I would hoard it too. :-)
18:45 let’s try new things - “even with wet baby wipes” 😂 You are just brilliant!!! I love your passion, your energy, and your creativity. You have so many great ideas. And I love that you’re not afraid to show us when you make mistakes and then how you find ways of fixing it. What I really love is that with you, there’s always a way. Always a way to fix things, always a way to hide a mistake, to turn it into something else, etc. And you are not afraid of change and of trying new things. You often say that it can be stressful and overwhelming, I know, and yet.. you still do try new things. And then if you make a mistake or if you don’t like how the new thing you tried turned out, you just improvise - and then we get something absolutely brilliant, just like this improbable idea with the stencil, the baby wipe and the honey-coloured distress stain! Thank you so very much for sharing your passion. Your energy and joie de vivre, your humbleness and your creativity are awe-inspiring. So, again, thank you, for everything!
I loved this series too! It did inspire me to try an altered book that I am currently working on. Since I am so new to paper crafting and journal making, it has been very frustrating to me. You make it look so easy. I'm not giving up, I want to change frustration into joy. Thank you Barbara!
After seeing many videos, I always come back to your channel bc I like your esthetic. Your explanation on why you do each step, especially the artistic decisions you make, are very helpful! Thank you!
So very beautiful! Love the "triangle" process you use. And the gesso is fun, as well. The watercolor 'happy accident'...I call it, is fantastic!! Going to try it soon. Love the ribbon you chose for the closure! (I had hoped that you picked that one) Thank you for the fun! Hugs 🥰 Suzy
Absolutely scrumptious, beautiful work. I have made 3 altered books so far in the last 2 years, you have just inspired me to make a third for a Christmas present. I love watching your videos Barbara. xx
Hi Barbara, I am so glad you used a different color distress ink. I am trying them myself. Thanks for the altered book journey together. Your creativity. Is so lovely. 😻
I love this series. THank you so much. I have two identical books I purchased at the dollar store which I plan to make as Christmas gifts. So I will be rewatching the videos. ❤️
Another beautiful project by you. :) I have been trying to follow along but have gotten really far behind - still on episode 4. I do not have a color printer so have not been using downloads but it's been a great opportunity to use up some of the "stuff" I have been hoarding for soooo long. I'm really enjoying the process & hopefully I will get done sooner rather than later. Thanks again for all the tutorials & inspiration Barbara. Hugs. :)
That was beautiful when you try to make watercolor and rose stencil. Everytime when I want to give up something I will remember how Barbara tried the same method for 4 times and result was amazing. Sometime you know something but still you need to see that in a little moment. Thanks!
Just watched your whole series these past two days. Wonderful tutorial. Haven't done a journal in awhile, looking forward now to following along with you as I work. Lucky you, living in Vienna! Thank you so much. Delightful narration 😘
Barbara, what a beautiful journal. Love those stickers you used and that rose turned out so pretty. And I think you picked the perfect ribbon to close it. Off subject, I just watched a Hallmark movie, Christmas I’m Vienna. Thought of you the whole movie. It was a good movie and loved seeing some of the city. TFS! ❤️
@@49dragonflies you’re so welcome Barbara. I should read my comment before I hit send. LOL. The movie is Christmas in Vienna. Good movie though. Maybe it’s in Hallmark.com.
Just discovered your tutorials, your work is absolutely gorgeous, and your instructions are very easy to follow, thank you so much for sharing your ideas and time, thank you form Australia
I love your decision-making process! You are meticulous, you never take the easy way out by leaving something you don't quite like. Very admirable! and I've learned so much from you technically. Thank you!
