Been waiting since April 2023. The more videos I watch the more I'm convinced it's what I need for a part of my use case (with Rode VideoMic NTG). I'm just waiting for the french release hoping the price is gonna be fair and not excessive like always here.
What hardware revision you got? Hardware version 1.0 is very noisy That’s why they delayed the product over and over so they resolve the noise issue. You can find the hardware version in the menu Thank you
I’ve been waiting for this since it was announced. My use case is pretty different from yours. I will be using it to record board mixes and press box feeds so I don’t have to be tethered to either of those. I don’t do a ton of gigs that would require this, but it’s a Swiss Army knife that I’m looking forward to having up my sleeve.
Good video. I like the concept of the PR-2 but I have so many audio things I need to upgrade, and I already have a couple of Tascam DR-10L units, not sure if these are a priority or not.
Nice video, question, when you connect it to the camera to have security audio, can you have timecode on one of the two channels as well? that would be great!
Hello! Thank you very much for the quick walk through! I've been refreshing youtube for uploads since it was announced waay back, and happy to see that they started shipping! It seems to have everything that I want! Is it possible to use the box as a timecode generator via 3.5 mm audio? Aka, replace the need of buying more TC-1 boxes for cameras? 😁
You’re welcome. I’m excited it’s finally here too. Yes, the PR-2 can be used as a timecode box only. Just set the Output to LTC-3v and then connect your device 3.5
Excuse my newbieness, but I don't get the point of this device, I mean, the lower tier DJI mic etc records to pocket AND to the camera audio track simultaneously. I realise the PR-2 is a more pro device but why not add a receiver on the camera so you don't have to sync? or am I missing something?
It all depends on your needs. The DJI mic does not do timecode and the Rode Pro can only do timecode when it's communicating actively to the receiver. I do not use wireless because I am often in a signal heavy environment or I'm filming out of range for the wireless to work correctly. My needs are straight forward: • Timecode • Small and lightweight • 24-bit or 32-bit mono • Good preamps The Deity PR-2 checks those boxes. Again, I don't need wireless so if they had that feature it's fine but I would rarely if ever find a use for it.
I am in the market for lav mics. Can you tell me why i would get the deity instead of the rode wireless pro? Disregarding price. They seem to be very similar, no? Sorry if that sounds stupid. I‘m no pro😅
Yes, the audio recorder needs to match your cameras frame rate. The one exception is slow motion since audio sync isn't needed for those shots. But normal speed requires they are the same.
I’m looking to Timecode sync four Pocket 4Ks. In the past I’ve used the switcher, but it seems like this might save me the time of running 500 feet of cables. I’m just not sure how Timecode would get into the camera (I’m using the USB port for recording). Any suggestions would be appreciated!
@@evanthecameraman so with the PR-2 I would record from the pass through/output into the camera? Sorry… I understand Timecode a bit (and I’ve jam synced these cameras through the input) but trying to manage my expectations and use sparse funding efficiently. I’m producing videos for an orchestra.
@@mrshaheedmalik That’s an issue with my inexperience doing product overviews as well as not working off a script. Hopefully you still found whatever information you were after.
Who else is excited for the Deity PR-2's official launch?!
I subscribed, you too

though confusing to confirm, based on their website the US models does not do lav loop out to the output port via the switch on the top.
@@SuperGeekTime I’ll take a look. I now know the output mutes when recording so my thought is it loops up until you actually use the record function.

Nice walkthrough.
You talked about the rechargeable lithium batteries but I can't see where your link is.
Hey sorry here is the link to the exact set I've been using and happy with. amzn.to/4fyMFd9

Does it sync to Blackmagic Cam on iPhone like tentacle sync products do?

@@evanthecameraman Great to hear that it's possible through 3.5! I'm definitely picking up a few of these
does it keep the timecode after 12h when you jam sync with camera? if I turn it off in between it will be at timecode all zero after 12h
@@AlexKroke I haven’t tested anything more than 12 hours.

@@evanthecameraman good points, thx
Thank you for sharing! But the more important part is the price! How much is it?
@@jimihuixiao7073 Through Gotham I paid $239 (USD) each unit and ordered 4 total for myself.

If I change my frame rate on my camera, do I need to change it on the device also or does it do it automatically?

Pocket cameras natively take timecode through the 3.5mm mic jack. So you can jam using that port and still record out using the USB-C
