I love that you shared your mistakes! So refreshing to find a how-to that allows us to see the imperfections and/or dilemmas that real DIYers experience, so that we can all learn along with you.
I was looking for DIY waterfall edge videos for a countertop. When I saw she Chiefs blanket I had to watch. KC native here but live in cowgirl country now, Dallas, TX. I make sure I rep my Chiefs everywhere I go though lol. Thanks for the helpful video.
That’s amazing! You’ve totally got it 🥰 Make sure to send some photos my way or tag me on Instagram at jesse_and_company so I can see your masterpiece!
Love your video, and thanks for sharing your lessons learned! Are you concerned about the wood bowing at the center? I love the clean, modern look! I need something just as long.
Thank you for stopping by! I was, but we haven’t had any problems at all! We also don’t keep anything heavy on there; just a decor tray and video game monitor, then we’ll also eat there sometimes when we want to watch a movie with dinner 🥰
Thank you! We’re so happy with it. Check out the description box for supplies. Measurements for this one, which was for a very odd and specific area, are listed below: Length: 89” Depth: 15” Height: 29.75”
Thank you! If you’re wanting to do pocket holes, I would recommend a Kreg Pocket Hole Jig and doing it on a practice piece. If you want to do the dowel system like I did, I’m not sure I would recommend doing it the way I did, which involved a lot of guess work and eyeballing. If you go that route, just go slowly and start with a test piece if you have one. Also, if you put the mitered edges together before drilling and draw the line the dowels should make across both edges, that can help you visualize the angle the dowels (and therefore holes) should be running as well. I really like the custom jig Tamar makes in the video listed below, but it requires at least several tools that I definitely don’t have. But if you do or can get your hands on them, I recommend giving that a try! Hope that all made sense…feel free to tag me on Instagram @Jesse_and_Company if you give this a try! th-cam.com/video/PWcACkNqXek/w-d-xo.html
Hello Jesse, I loved this project and tried to do it myself. But the 45degree angles aren’t perfect when I’m trying to join the two ends. It’s more than 90degrees (around 95degrees) I wanted to use angle braces to join both the ends but now I can’t as the angle is bigger than 90degrees. How should I join the ends and what should I fill in the gaps?
Speaking as a non-expert, I might adjust your circular saw, try on a test piece of wood, then go over the edges again with a new cut. You wouldn’t need to cut off more than 1/8”. Even getting it as close as possible, however, it’s not likely that you will have a perfect edge with no gaps. I like to mix wood glue with the sawdust collected from sanding it, and use that paste as a wood filler. With the sawdust being from the same of wood, it should stain the same color as the table.
Haha oh it was so easy to make, you should give it a try! If you’re in the Tennessee area though, I have been looking for an excuse to give it another shot 😁
I really appreciate it! I’ve been quiet for a bit due to some family stuff but I have SO many DIY’s I’m hoping to get done and shared in the near future 😁
@@jesseandcompany IYes, I noticed that you haven't posted videos for several months now. I will lift you and your family lifted up in prayer for a breakthrough and that you are able to come back to TH-cam and share your many talents and crafts in peace and with a joyful heart💞🙏
The length is 89”, depth is 15”, and height is 29.75”. Super specific to the space I built it for. It’s super easy to customize to your own dimensions!
Hi, Louise! I got those from Home Depot. Linked below: www.homedepot.com/p/BESSEY-2-in-Capacity-90-Degree-Angle-Clamp-with-1-1-8-in-Throat-Depth-WS-3-2K/204958410
I’m SO impressed with how this turned out. You amaze me. Would the process be the same with a different wood? Anything I would need to consider if I used a different type of wood to take a crack at this DIY?
Thank you! I would imagine so, at least in terms of the process and cut pattern. The big differences would probably come if using a different wood, specifically a harder species (different saw blades or drill bit, different miter joint requirements such as biscuits or larger dowels).

Love your sincerity, it's refreshing and frankly I'd make the same mistakes if I wasn't advised against them beforehand, so thank you 😘
That means a lot, thank you! Let me know if you end up giving it a try 😊 Thanks for stopping by!
And whoa, is that a chiefs blanket? We lived in KC for 13 years. Moved away in 2018 and we miss it every day!
Yes! We’re diehard Chiefs fans, since birth! We got that for a Christmas present last year 🥰 Thank you for stopping by!
You did great! Thanks for the helpful tips-I’m guilty of so many of the same “oops” actions. Live and learn!
Thank you! I’m great at those 😬 Mostly because I get impatient lol!
❤ you’re cute..thanks for the smile and great tutorial for an easy Dyi. No crazy wood working tools most of us don’t have.
Thank you! Thanks for stopping by - let me know if you end up giving it a try 😁

Hey Jesse! I’m about to begin this project. I bought a dowel jig but I’m unsure how to approach the correct angle for the dowels. Any tips?
Did the joint last long 😢 looking for a stronger joint

Such a great job. I’m wanting to try this but I have no idea how to drill the pocket holes. Any tips?
