One move: put your palm on top of the stack and rotate 60 degrees.
@@beccaiskenough17 You do realize, that rotating an equilateral triangle 60 degrees essentially points it in the opposite direction. And obviously here, they didn't flip anything 180 degrees. Sorry translational geometry is difficult.

My teacher gave us this puzzle in my first business studies lesson. I was the first to solve it. He always gave us puzzles like this, because he said the main problem with modern day business men and woman is that they can't solve problems in creative ways.
He is retiring this year and I will really miss the brain teasers next year

Step 1 - grab camera
Step 2 - rotate camera any multiple of 60 degrees
Step 3 - laugh in this guys face as you have flipped the triangle with only two moves
No you didnt, the triangle is still in its original orientation, simply shifting your visual perspective isnt moving the triangle, its moving YOU

Hint. The inner part of the triangle creates a hexagon shape. From there, you need to determine which way you would like the triangle to point.
This. I noticed the symmetry. But I ALSO noticed... Because he said THREE moves, it got me thinking about which three pennies were... conspicuous. The brain trains itself to see patterns like that. So I saw the hexagon and the corners independently.

Or another way to think of it is that you need 7 coins to stay stationary, and figure out which 7 would overlap if you imagine an upside down triangle overlaid on top of the original
A minutes silence for those of us who still after moving the first coin couldn't guess where the remaining two went.

True, only takes a bit of logical thinking to figure out in less than a minute
I thought all the pennies had to be heads up so I was thinking this guy was an idiot.
This was not even a "not difficult one". It was elementary at best.
When I was a kid I remember a professor Layton and the Curious Village ad that had a lady playing it and it was this puzzle with some plates. I bought the game despite my mom saying it looked lame because I remember being captivated by the one puzzle and already knowing the answer. It's my favorite game series, and because I was a dumb little kid and asked my mom for help a lot she also ended up loving the series. One of my favorite bonding moments with her and it was all sparked by this brain teaser

Or you can move the corner coins in either a clockwise or counterclockwise turn

The way i solved it was a simple clockwise rotation of the tips

Me before you make the first move: "dang, I can't think of anything that doesn't involve at least 4 moves."
Me as soon as you make the first move: "ok now I know exactly what the next 2 moves are. Wow, that was so simple, how did I not think of that?"
If you look at the 7 main coins they form a hexagon which is the basic shape of the arrow . Then you can manipulate the 3 outer coins to make the arrow point whenever you want to

I thought he was going to flip over the coins to where they were all heads but still in a triangle.
This was actually really easy
Moving the outermost 3 coins in either 1 move clockwise or anti-clockwise works just as well. The benefit of this method is none of the coins break contact to the rest of the puzzle.

Take the two from the bottom left and bottom right. Move them to the second to last row then take the lone coin at the top and move it to the bottom middle
My first thought was to just put my palm on all the pennies and rotate until I get my desired result. Never said that I had to play by the rules you laid out.
For puzzles like this, I always forget that the simple answer, is the right answer.

Move the corners to their opposite vertical positions: upper corner goes to bottom, each of the sides go up.
Or move one spot to another and you will see an upside down triangle

Looks simple enough… wouldn’t just moving the bottom corners to the second row, then moving the top corner to the bottom, do it?
Exactly, it's the other way of creating the same design.
There can be an additional rule where the coins must always touch two additional coins during a move and those cinnected to the main shape. I.e. cant remove a coin from the second row from the top first as the tip of the pyramid would only touch or be adjacent to one coin.

Move the two bottom corner coins up 2 rows, then move the top coin to the very bottom
This was crazy easy. As soon as I looked at it I could see that the main body makes a hexagon and it have 3 branching parts. Just flip the branching parts on the hexagon to get inverted image....

There’s another way to do it. Grab the the coins at the vertices then you’re left with a hexagon. Next put two coins at the top left and right corners, then the last coin at the bottom.
Flip the triangle boom.
Move the right most bottom one to the middle bottom, then the left most bottom one to the left of the second row, then the top one to the right of the second row.
I didn't realize the objective so I thought we had to flip the coins that made the triangle to the other side of the coin so I thought " flip the first 3 coins on the top cause that makes a mini triangle!" 😭😭 If I had known the goal I probs would have figured it out-

I immediately noticed a circle of pennies in the center and realized those must not change so I knew it had to be the three corners

I had the same solution and I figured it out within a second
Rotate the 3 coins on each corner so that the one on the side os on the bottom and the other two are each corner of the top
Move the original corner pieces to the opposite side of the triangle for all three moves.
This is the first one I solved before the solution, nice

Moves 1 and 2: move the bottom far left and far right coins up to the left and right of the row 2nd from the top.
Move 3: Move the coin on the top row to the bottom row.
Took me a minute but I got it on my own. It just feels way better that way
