Luv how you opened with showing us the fabric!! I don't sew but I was all in on looking at those beautiful fabrics. Seemed expensive at $50 a yard but they were nice. I only do big holiday decor for Thanksgiving, Christmas and Easter. I don't go all out for Halloween. Thanks for taking us to Joann's!

Regarding the fabric prices: ‘special occasion’ fabrics do tend to cost more than, say, a quilting cotton. All fabric prices have gone up like everything else though. Quilting cotton can now run $10 or more a yard, depending on the manufacturer or the designer. There are brocade fabrics that can run as much as $300 a yard (I’ve seen that in NYC and at G Street Fabrics in Rockville, MD which is a suburb of DC). And that’s not even talking about Home Decorating Fabrics! Brace yourself if you ever look at those! Hope this helps! ❤

I'm in fabric heaven! ❤ Some of the pearls and sequins are sewed on by hand. That explains the prices.

I dont decorate for Halloween, but i decorate for fall. I change up some of my decor for fall at the start of September and keep it up till Thanksgiving. Then Thanksgiving night i start changing it for Christmas!

the fabrics you showed at the begging of the video look a lot like the ones Moroccan use to make traditional Kaftans and Tkchita which are Moroccan traditional gowns for women especially for brides here about two and half meters can cost from five hundreds up to thousands of dollars :)

I saw the Halloween things few weeks ago. They have some really gorgeous bar ware with silver skeleton hands. If they go 70 percent off I would consider buying them for a friend that loves Halloween.

Decorate for fall in August and then add in Halloween in October. I also decorate my office for Halloween.

I feel the fabric prices are outrageously expensive for JoAnne’s, as they are not a New York 5th avenue type of store. But to put the price in more perspective, since a yard is 36” what can you make for $50 out of a yard of one of those fabrics?? Not much. Imagine what the price would be to make a dress or gown or something requiring lots of yardage at that price point.
It used to be that sewing your own clothes was less expensive, but not necessarily anymore. Just as preparing your own dinner isn’t always less expensive these days. Just my opinion, since you asked. 😊
