- The Goddess of the Netherworld in Sumerian myth. She freely wields a spear-like cage; at times stabbing the enemy with, at times imprisoning souls, at times summoning lightning, she is the fearsome ruler of the netherworld.
Having carried out her duties of administrating the netherworld since birth, she is a goddess that disappeared along with the Age of Gods without ever knowing of the world above, or of freedom.
This form is not that of the Goddess Ereshkigal, but that of a Pseudo-Servant where she has possessed the soul of a human with a similar wavelength to hers.
Though she claims that her role is merely to supervise humans, like the netherworld goddess that she is... "...it's a problem if so many people are coming to the netherworld... it's also a big issue creating cages to confine all these souls... I wonder if I can provide them a more comfortable place to be in..."
In this way, it's hard to fully conceal her caring heart. She is truly a red angel of the netherworld.

Its not "Rin face" if its her own body, even though the inside is Ereshkigal. Same like ishtar because that also Rin's body.
Just like how Parvati and Kama are not "Sakura face" because their body is actually Sakura. BB and all the the other alter ego are Sakura face though.
By this logic, Arthuria saber, saber alter, lancer, lancer alter, and king Arthur are also not "Arthuria face" because they are that person itself. But Mordred, jeanne, mhx, souji, umu, laskhmi and all their variation are Arthuria's face.

She's really only listed like that because of her role as the Sumerian Goddess of the Underworld, who was perceived as a somewhat malevolent force at the time.
It didn't help that one of her predecessors, Nergal, really WAS a bit of a bastard who wanted the underworld to be a place of suffering for the inhabitants.
jack simpson Sure, as was the case with Hades. As a Roman God, he became more respected due to being a god of wealth in the later ages.
But I think she may be listed as that because of the actual Ereshkigal’s influence. Maybe Rin being her container and all mellows her a bit.
@@Detherocable Yeah, Rin's certainly been good for her. As far as I'm aware, one of the only darker sides the 'real' Eresh has that Rin's possession deals with is that she's a bit of a Yandere sometimes.
Consider her level 4 Bond Line, where she starts worrying about the player getting hurt in their journeys together, then starts to consider taking you to the Underworld to *make sure* you stay protected....only to stop herself and apologise for it in her Bond 5 Line. That's part of Rin's good influence.
I mean, even though she was extremely nice about it, she does unleash genocidal plagues at the drop of a hat, twice (once in Babylonia, once in Xmas in the Underworld)..
It's 40 seconds in, and she's already getting all DereDere for us....

Varies from servant to servant and singularity to singularity. Some retain full memories of your past adventures (Ishtar), some have only a hazy recollection (Hassan of Serenity), some have no memory at all (Meltryllis).

How *the fuck* can she have _Evil_ Alignment? HOW?! SOMEONE EXPLAIN THIS?! If she's fused with Rin just like Ishtar, and became _this_ beautiful angel, then *WHY* IS SHE STILL CATEGORIZED AS EVIL?! She should be purer than snow!
She's incredibly polite & humane about it, but she has a habit of unleashing genocidal plagues at the drop of a hat (During the Babylonia singularity against Kutha & Uruk, and later against Chaldea in order to wipe out all records of her in the 21st century). Also, she was secretly making preparations to obliterate Uruk from below, although fortunately they were able to repurpose this plan to secure Tiamat.
