I definitely don't mind GoPro footage for vlogging. Plenty of big channels do it. The video and audio quality are good and it's just convenient. Recently switched to mostly using GoPro myself. One thing I do recommend is switching to linear framing for shots that don't need the wide view. Also just be careful with lighting because footage in dark areas is not phenom.

@@Draft_7 Oh man I had a huge issue with my GoPro Hero8 when I first got it. It would literally twitch the entire frame and messed up a whole vid for me. After a firmware update and changing some settings I haven't had a problem. I didn't notice it in this vid, but it's def possible.

When he was building it he was all gung ho about getting it thrashed and letting it be the car for everyone to drive and learn and bang up, one love tap and he's heart broken. Guy needs to build and drive more of his shit, he babies and parks them too much.
It's drifting, shit happens. If he felt uncomfortable he could back out of the tandem at any time. He went hard, people got closes, and shit went down. He knew rando was behind him and kept sending it.
I’d toss in some extra non factory bracing here and there to help keep the car strong, maybe even stronger than factory. Like some gussets and/or tubing

A year and a half ago I went into a body shop and asked if they needed an apprentice, he was interested and asked me to come in the following monday. Fast forward to today I work by myself on commission R&I, bodywork and prepping. I kinda realized bhall, you changed my life for ever. Inadvertently you put me on to my dream job, I have shit Id never think I'd have like cars and bikes. You didnt know it I didnt know it but I really appreciate it. Much love stay safe.
Intertia of the engine in an accident is enough to break a motor mount on top of tweaking the frame. Check the engine to make sure things like the harmonic balancer aren't cracked and all the freeze plugs are still in it
Yo Jimmy glad you had B to help you through this. I know it sounds cheesy but when I dropped my bike I lacked motivation to fix it because of my accident that I knew could be avoided. It just made me mad. Admire the strength to even take this thing apart to be pulled. IMHO, that cast motor mount is what saved the driver side frame rail. If that was a steel piece it may have brought the impact energy to the other rail and completely shifted the WHOLE front end. I would replace with oem. I have seen this happen to an e46 chassis as well, my friend ended up cutting the whole frame/apron off and welding on a replacement from a donor. It worked out great and car drove straight AF. B hall has sick talent and can get that rail better than how it was i'm sure. Do a TJ and keep moving forward son!

Ehh I don’t know if this is the time for it because yes it was a big hit, but a tube frame wouldn’t 100% solve this because usually people keep the stock frame rails which is the issue here.

e30 stock chassis doesnt take hits that well unless you rebrace it though maybe. make the e30 pretty again and maybe with tubing frame front end. meanwhile for the rest of the season slap that m52 on that e36 parts car for some seat time. at least after this coronavirus thing dies down though. dont mind the gopro though as long as you give us videos we all good. love the content stay safe

Really sorry about the E30 man! It's def pretty bent, but if most of the bend is in one spot at least you may be able to pull it fairly easily. If it was a front end impact and all crumpled it would be much harder. Good luck!
Jimmy and Brian should build a shell trolley for the instances where a car is on the lift with no ability to roll on its own wheels. Just roll the trolley in, drop the car onto it and wheel the car out of the road. It would really save the pain of having to work on the ground if there's something on the lift.
Slap an m60b40/m62b44 v8 in there from a 7/540i shell... all that stuff can be had at junkyards for cheap. Easy 300hp plus you get a sixth gear... That aluminium v8 only weighs 50 pounds more than the old iron m20b25 that comes stock in a 325. all you really need is a custom driveshaft engine mounts and trans brace... Plus i would really love to see an m6x e30 swap series because i plan on doing one in the future. it would sound SO GOOD chipped with an exhaust...
Just a heads up....hunt parts out of South Africa - loads of them and little rust (unless coast cars), they don't have snow so don't ice....and the dollar exchange is deff in your favour...can prob ship whole cars...RHD of course
One can see it clearly from the outside. 0:29 and 1:30 between the wheel and the door. It is "clean" there but it points inwards. Too much inwards to be a side effect of the wrinkles in front of the wheel.

no it's the coolant, the coolant is blue and the color of it got a little darker when it's all in the pan. in 4:21 you see that he used the pan for the coolant
To be honest, the average viewer probably wouldnt even notice the difference if you didn't point it out. GoPro is just as good for capturing a moment, the software is kind of annoying but its not like you have to use it. Love the content, brother~
My theory on that broken mount is fatigue from clutch kicks than the impact from the accident broke it. For a drift car I would make some steel mounts. Just get another mount to make template and make a steal version.
I bid a guardrail in a high-speed pursuit from the Madison county sheriff's department in Huntsville Alabama about 6 years ago in my precious 86 z31 which is now my daily again now that I've got it back together but I've still got a couple of kinks in a few minor adjustments I've had to make over the years my steering wheel's perfectly straight nowadays and I can let go of the steering wheel running a hundred on the highway and it does not budge out of the lines it drives pretty straight considering hey I hit a guard rail at 130 plus in the rain at 1:00 in the morning with six sheriff's department cars in pursuit of me and I was getting away until I shifted the fifth gear coming out of a curve on the wet pavement and on my way shifted or transferred when I pushed in the clutch to hit fifth gear and I drifted for about a hundred feet and then hit the guardrail and started spinning it was a pretty fun ride but when I got out and looked at my car the wheel and strut laying 100 ft from the car with the lug nuts still bolted the wheel to the hub but not on the car it made me sick so needless to say I went to jail my car got impounded and when I got out I put it back together but today six years later it is still my daily I have five vehicles but I choose to drive this the most but I could still probably use a frame machine in my life just to twig and mess with it a little bit I've had a hell of a car story throughout my life motorcycles anything you can drive
Boy's while you at it: reinforce the frame rails like VW did on the G60 Bodys, just a stripe of steel diagonal welded inside the rail. It's a shame this nice Bimmer got wrecked that is the only E30 I'm digging for (except an M)

My thoughts exactly and being an automotive TH-camr the gopro is a lot more durable choice for the inevitable accidents that happen around the shop.

stock motor mounts are designed for one side to break. it's like a shear bolt. it saves the motor.

Cuick tip.. put your engine leveøer thingy the other way and use the electric impact or something to tilt the engine.. makes life a whole lot easier

no it's the coolant, the coolant is blue and the color of it got a little darker when it's all in the pan.
