Finally someone said it, I always thought that Conan has a great voice. Ever since I heard him sing a little bit on some of team Coco's videos. Conan has a great singing voice if only he can avoid adding frills or changing to his Irish leprechaun voice
@@sahityabk i don't think you have seen all his abroad segments where he learns dances of diffrent cultures, which ofcourse he even gives his own comedic twist. I think it's more of understanding a person's potential, i beg to differ from ur opinion. Btw he did a pole dance back in the day really perfectly just in one try, i don't remember his guest's name. She was a pole dancer and taught him on the show and Conan nailed it.
Honestly i’ve always had a problem with him before… I thought he was all about doing a character… until I saw this episode! He’s truly authentic and genuine! What are force of bliss!
I got emotional when Conan started singing. There was no comedy, no bit, nothing... just his pure voice and it's got so much going for it! There was honesty and feeling in there, like a true storyteller and not many musicians have that. Conan really should do an album like that. A serious one
I teared up too, because it's the *first* time I'd ever heard Conan's voice. I mean, he's really really good singing rock also, like on his very last episode or during his tour. Sucks at guitar lmao but his singing is actually... he should have taken lessons all this time. And to have Goldblum bring it out of him really moved me. Unlike Sona, I relaxed and realized it would not turn into a bit, which is when my eyes welled up. Also... Darling's comment about comedians being really sad rings true too (hadn't thought of it!)
@@EmpyreanLightASMR He sings We're Going To Be Friends at the end of his live podcast with Will Arnett, and not just a part of it like here but the whole thing. He does have a really fckin great voice. It brought me to tears. If any of you want to look it up, it was published in November 2021. Live at the Wiltern Theatre.
It’s hard to believe that Conan-who is internationally famous and beloved-is even now insecure about his talent. And yet it is obvious from watching him here that he is. I found it very touching watching him and the other three gently encouraging him, like the true friends they are.
I’ve recently been in the trenches of connecting the dots between his insecurity and the process of how he became a late night host and his bumpy start with Leno. He chose to be in the background of entertainment because he didn’t think he could handle the job of being a host, and then when he was thrown into it and did his dues, it felt like it was being ripped away as fast as he was put into it. I can understand the insecurity/ feeling of instability.
As a LONG time Conan fan. I got teary 🥲 in the car listening to this podcast this morning. Such a sweet moment to hear Conan sing. I know he hates his voice. As much as I love his comedic tone when he sings. This just pulled on my heart strings in a way that they haven’t been in awhile. Thanks for pushing Conan, Jeff! 🧡
Leave it to Jeff and his sincere encouragement and appreciation of Conan's voice to coax him out of the buffoon and into truly using his voice. I wish I had a friend that was half as authentic as Jeff Goldblum.
3:07 My gosh this was so moving! Absolutely compelling - the lyrics and almost conversational delivery of this song was so heartfelt. It really shows how much Conan trusts and respects Jeff (and how authentic and genuine Jeff is with Conan) - what a beautiful friendship - thank you for sharing, love you 💙
I've only ever heard Conan do 'silly' singing, but I always got the impression he could hold a note and sing very well seriously if he wanted to. Getting a glimpse of it thanks to Jeff Goldblum makes me hope we hear more of it.
As a American, I can make y’all American. The way we do it, we dance around the American flag while drinking beer. Then in an hour or two, we will yell into the night. Then in the morning you will be transformed, reincarnated into a American citizen.
Oh my sweet Conan... He looks shy wanting to share his voice with us .. Love you Conan and you know what?? You can be both, a funny guy and a talented, affectionate singer. Love you for ever. Your fan from Morocco.
These relationships is what I think is missing from late night. Only true friendship can allow a conversation like this. Jeff you are an amazing person so genuine thank you for making Conan do it right
That's Jeff, the acting teacher. Amazing! Of course Conan is brilliant at turning things into bits, but beautiful to see that people can also thrive outside of their primary box.
I feel Conan's struggle on this. It matters so little, literally nothing at stake, but singing in front of people authentically feels impossible to me. Proud of you, Conan!
Conan should be encoraged to sing more, that little bit shows how good he sounds when does not use the shenanigans that we all love but thats a different side of him I think everyone is really interested to know about. I would happily buy whatever album he releases if he does that.
i'm so used to seeing Conan being unabashedly himself and incredibly confident, its odd but beautiful seeing him going out of his comfort zone and its awesome
You obviously never saw the first 3 or 4 seasons of Late Night. He was a nervous wreck on stage for years. He got his groove eventually but it took him many years.
Oh my gosh i have LOVEDDDD the snippets I've heard of Conan singing genuinely, so this was SUCH a delight. I don't think there are a lot of people who could get Conan to do that on the spot, but thank god Jeff Goldblum asked. What a treat. Love you, Coco. Thanks for actually being vulnerable. Not easy to sing in earnest. You really do have a good voice. 💛
Every time I heard Conan do his exaggerated, comedic singing voice I would always think " hey, his voice seems like it could actually sing beautifully if he was being sincere!" Seems like I was right and Jeff thinks so too! A lovely moment on the podcast and felt like I was witnessing a rare moment to hearing Conan being sincere and vulnerable with his natural singing voice which I've wanted to hear for a while. Thanks Jeff for bringing out that side of Conan!
Having met Jeff briefly when he was at Calgary Fan Expo... he is such a legit, and personable human being. Truly a person who I never thought I would have a chance to cross paths with, but feel so blessed to have had that moment. IF EVER you see him on a line up for any event, convention, or show, GO! ...you will never regret your decision to attend.

This episode really was my favourite of yours. Yes.
Precisely the beauty of this moment. Took the combination of Jeff and Conan to create that beauty.
