Full ceramics do improve a little when broken in, but it's not a huge difference. I find the main benefit is that a full ceramic will sometimes smooth out a throw I've had difficulty tuning, possibly due to tighter tolerances (they're usually quite tight on the bearing seat). Still hard to beat an NSK for that buttery smooth feel they have.
@@FreneticZetetic brotip: on my experience, the silver 8 ball magicyoyo bearing works better (doesn't grip on tricks and binds and stuff messing the string) even if the gold 10 ball one spins a little bit more.
I had a long post that I might have failed to send, but I was going to say, if you can find ceramics cheap enough, the RoI is even better when upgrading a less premium throw. Like Lebowski indicated, the tighter tolerances can get yoyos that would otherwise vibe to behave. One of my favorite EDC throws is a trashed Lyn Fury that I satined, siliconed, and threw a ceramic in. (In my first version of the post, I said I'd put in spacers, but I just checked and I think I took them back out because they introduced vibe.)
Cool video! I was just checking out the #Bearings tag and your vid looked interesting, and it very much was! Appreciate the breakdown of the different types of bearings, and the real-world tests of performance. Curious if you will do a one-year follow-up to see if broken-in ceramic bearings will now perform better than hybrid bearings.
I'm a beginner, for some reasons I got a full ceramic bearing yoyo. I'm wondering is it good for me or not, because I need more spinning time to practice tricks. If the spinning cannot last as long as the metal one (or hybrid), I think I need to replace it.
A few questions: -You know anywhere to get a multi bearing sample pack to try different types? -If you just wanted the absolute best possible bearing regardless of cost, what would it be? Specifically the material AND type combo you think is best. -Your preference between concave and centertrack?
How did you get 7.5 minutes with a standard bearing lol. Most I’ve ever got is 2 mins with pixel bearing and usually just over a minute with stock bearings. What am I doing wrong lol? Is it because you have a bimetal? All mine are monos.
Well bi metal helps it is also how I am holding it and adjusting the tension as it goes. But no 2 people throw the same. One person could throw a yoyo and get a completely different time than another person. I'm sure the nice yoyo helps too tho
Usually for some reason 1A,3A and 5A YoYo's have a "size C" bearing and 2A YoYo's have a "size A" bearing. Hope this helped. If you would like to check out some of my YoYo skills here is a vid of me from 2 years ago .. th-cam.com/video/P2TTEb72cHw/w-d-xo.html
Been watching your videos since 3 yrs now. Never stop uploading. For every yoyo i buy, i search the product with your name to get a review just by you.if i dont find. I feel the yoyo is trash😶🌫️
The spin time on the sleeper "adjusting the tension as it goes" ridiculous . What's the point when the yoyo is turning around not just sleeping and it doesn't come back to your hand ?? The test doesn't prove anything. Why not test the spin time on trapeze ? Shouldn't you also do the exact same trick combo. ? What about an average from doing the tests 3 time each ???
I've always really liked the feel of the hybrid ceramic bearings. For whatever reason the full on ceramics just never grabbed me.
love your channel bro. just got into the yoyo hobby.

Great reply and this would make sense (regarding tolerances and ceramic bearings). I have a gold Magic bearing in my Purple Line and it flies.

@@LoneWanderer905 I cleaned and lubed mine and now they're identical IMHO. I also got the Mazal Top Rectifier with the hybrid bearing and it hauls!

Where do I buy the 1$ bearing
Looks like a good deal. I wish you would have tested against an NSK bearing though.
The link to get these bearings in the description is dead. Anyone know where to get these bearings?
Thanks bro I've been wanting a bearing review

Great video. Ali express has some cheap ceramic bearings too, I'm. Tempted to try some after this video👍
Nice comparison. Not into ceramics but love nsk and Duncan's kk

Are they size C bearings?
I really love the drums
What kind of yoyo is this? Responsive or unresponsive? It seems like it’s a hybrid of both. How can this be?

Where the hell do you get tubes of bearings like that?

Wouldn’t it be more accurate to just drop it and let it free spin with zero throw
