- This is a video of a journey onboard Edmonton Transit Service's Capital Line, one of two LRT routes currently in operation (a third route owned by TransEd Partners and operated by ETS is currently under construction and expected to open later this year).
We ride aboard ETS 1005, a 1977-built Siemens DüWag U2 set. Connected to our set is 1019 which is a 1982-1983-built unit). Boarding at the northern terminus station of Clareview, we ride all the way to the southern terminus station of Century Park.
This video was filmed in the evening on July 6th, 2021.
At the beginning of the video our train is composed of five units. Three of those units (1016, 1008 and 1022) are uncoupled and head back to the nearby depot Not-In-Service ahead of our scheduled departure.
I don’t blame you for waiting for the u2, I love them just as much as you
whats a u2? I'm out of the loop sorry lol
Siemens/Duwag U2 is the model of this LRV
I must disagree I like the ones they got after the U2' s
I rode that line on April 1997 it was interesting also I rode that to get to northlands were the oilers were playing the VANCOUVER canucks wich I went to that train needs new cars and from what I saw there no room for bikes
surprised you survived the ride!
Nah thats crazy. Sadly it is the truth though
I think from Stadium to Churchill I would have filmed from the right side of the train to get a more panoramic view of downtown and Rogers place. Still a cool video though.
I don't really like switching sides once I've started a video, unless the train is virtually empty. Too much risk of losing my seat and having to start the video all over again.
I thought you found rare footage of a bus on a train track
lrt rocks!
I like the lrt becuse its better than Calgrays lrt
Yeah I don't like calgary, I was there in 2006 it was a concrete jungle then, I guess it's much worse now. Plus it's calgary so it already gets a 0.0% in my approval book. My approval book doesn't start until 50%.
0:18, I Got A Question, Why Did The Siemens SD160 Leave Clareview, Out Of Service? Was It Because Of The Schedule Times?
Those particular SD160 units were heading back to the depot. They were part of a train that was shortened from five-units to three - which left before I started recording.
