The problem with this line is the farther south you go, the lower the density gets. Part of it is basically cuts through light industrial. Not sure if the city has a plan to build up the density along the line, but I'm seeing a lot of issues with trying to do that.
I have to go from west Jasper place on the 7 bus downtown and take this train to millwoods everyday for practicum! Well for one more week lol it takes over an hour from when i get on the bus to my facility!
The train is not controlled by the phone. It still uses the traditional joystick and a lot of the buttons and controls I recognize. I'm not sure what the phone is for, but it may show the schedule since the train doesn't signal whether there is another train directly in front of them.
Vancouver subways have no drivers at all. We just have to trust that the computers that are controlling the train are not faulty and crash it into another train.
@@MIKEJ788 They plan to have this line completed by 2028, but I always expect there to be delays. In my opinion, they should've completed the west leg first
For someone on the Austistic spectrum this was a very overwhelming to watch.. with SO MUCH VISUAL OBSTRUCTIONS and actually makes one DIZZY and UNSTEADY ... DO NOT THINK would ever be able to use or cope on ...🤔🥴
I apologize for the bad filming. At the time, I was still trying to get the best camera video setting. There isn't any good way to film the Valley Line without too many visual obstructions without blocking the door. Next time I may try to obtain a filming permit to get a better angle, but no promises.
@@noahshelly9668 Not only was the filming part of issue .. but also sun glare needs to be shielded But the way built with ALL the meandering and overhead pieces of struts ... Apparently NO ONE gave any thought to how the disabled would be able to get across the grounds of all the roadways ... and as an older person who has Not driven in many years it would slow one down to even figure out how to use any of the roadways to get across or even get turned into the wrong places YIKES ! Was Not built very clean ...rather nightmarish
Amazing Noah! I Have Been On The Valley Line LRT Since 5 Months Ago in November 2023.

Once the West extension opens up, I can see usage going WAY up. Especially to West Edmonton Mall
To add to my other comment, when I ride the train during events or rush hour, it does get pretty busy, but it's more manageable
Several Roads were Effed Up by this thing
Yep

Once the west valley line opens, it should be much easier
Probably quicker on the bus.
Agreed. The express busses only stopped at Davies and Bonnie Doon.
I will not ride on a Train/Car/whatever that is controlled from a Phone. Who the Eff came up with that Idea?
Welcome to the future 😂

What time of day was this? I live in Edmonton.
It was sometime in the afternoon. I'm not sure when exactly since I recorded it long ago and I lost the footage
@@noahshelly9668 ok. Thanks
Are those speed limits in KPH or MPH?
Km/h
@@noahshelly9668 when will they extend this line 2 West Edmonton Mall?

wow is this ever slow , you can walk faster then this goes
That is what it's like when riding the Tram instead of the subway

That is way to sloooowwww.
Agreed. Wouldn't it just be easier to make it just like the other lines where trains always have right of way?
Trains will go slower on downtown route but else its still goes the same speed as metro line.
Love taking the train it's free, when I don't buy a ticket, thanks Edmonton taxpayers for the free rides.
just like city council it is useless
