Hey Kenan, loved this video! So informative! I just got back from Australia where I got the chance to meet an Aldabra tortoise and a Galapagos tortoise! These two experiences were so incredible!! I will forever cherish my time with those glorious creatures and am so jealous of your life! haha I plan to go back to Aus, and hope to meet the same two tortoises I met while there! Thank you for your amazing and inspirational videos, please keep it up!
I love the videos Kenan! Your an inspiration to me. I am an aspiring conservationist that is on a life-long quest to learn more about; biodiversity, their behavior, and how humans can help protect species for future generations. Your passion for these animals is so contagious and inspiring. Thanks to many opportunities in my life (including your videos) I've now become part of the Canadian Herpetological Society (CHS) and am super excited to continue on this voyage of; conservation, education, and the pursuit of knowledge ;) Thank you Kamp Kenan. I am forever grateful for encountering you :)
You can buy massive bags of Timothy and orchard grass pellets at feed stores, you can feed this to grassland tortoises when it’s winter when they can’t go outside. Soak the pellets and mix it with hay, dust with calcium and vitamin supplements, and your set. This works for grassland tortoises, offer vegetables too.
Who knew tortoise shit could be interesting! Haaaaa It's funny how much I've learned about reptiles from you, and keeping reptiles and I have even kept one since i was... 15 or so... we're talkin' 22 years or so haha
@KanpKenan, Moringa trees grow very well in south Florida. They are a natural laxative for animals & people. Just feed the leaves to your tortoises or eat them yourself. Most all of the plant is edible... I grows very fast in Summer. Get a cutting & plant it. Very healthy for you.
This was a very interesting video. Learn something new everyday. But plz do make a deworming video been trying to figure out what I can do for my reptiles but the only thing I found out was pumpkin.
My Florida box tortoise seems to be very picky with her food she only seems to eat some berries and the mealworms I give her. What can I give her that shill take and what do you feed your florida box tortoises?
I have a question, can anybody help? I recently rescued a marginated tortoise with slight MBD (The shell slightly dips in the middle but is still firm) he had lived indoors but is now in an outdoor enclosure at my place, will his shell get any better? I know it can’t correct fully but he is still very young (3years old) and am wandering if he can still live a good life.
Hey Kenan, you are one of my favorite youtubers. I have a pet Russian tortoise but my question is about my green tree monitor. He is about 2 ft long and I really want to puts live plant in his cage. What types could I use and how can I make sure they have no chemicals.
They are so cute how they come up to like little dogs are tortoises friendly with there owners? Other than recognizes there owners that feed them it’s a question that has crossed my mind
I found a box turtle in the street the other day. Its a three toed eastern box turtle I have found out. She is about 3 inches long. We are boating in and out of the house at this time. Im afraid to let her go where I found her because there are so many streets. If I let her go at my house there is the flooding problem. I want her to be happy but I dont want her to get run over. My question is will she be happy if I keep her in an inclosure outside or would she be happier out on her own? Oh yea I live in North Eastern Oklahoma. I didnt mean to say im boating in and out now I was at the time I found her we do get water on the property at least once a year but not as much as a week or so ago.
@@KingKhan-dv7ze I would be happy to pay for that but I doubt he can handle every turtle thats found in the street. I have just been reading that your not suposed to move a turtle a long way from where you found it. Im only about three or four blocks from where I found this one and im on the edge of the city limits so I think im going to release her here. I dont know what else to do.
Hey, Kenan, I was wondering if TH-cam works like IG- can you see if I liked your video? For some reason, for the last week or so, everytime I "Like" a video, the thumbs up isn't turning blue. The little thing pops up saying "Added to Your Liked Videos". But since the thumbs up isn't turning blue, oh- and your "like" count isn't going up on my end when I hit the button either, I was wondering if you are getting credit, so to speak, for my like. If there's any way you can see if I liked it, I'd really appreciate you letting me know. Thanks!
Kenan...... I must Thank you.... You are a huge source of my information and the way i expand some of my knowledge of these amazing creatures and reptiles in general! Another gentalman i love watching is ViperKeeper! Amazing creatures fill his channel as well!!!
***Tortoises stare*** Tortoise 1: _This guys just walked in here and started playing with our p00ps....._ 5:25 Tortoise 2: _Just don't think about it. Does he have more food?_ It's just a health check guys.🙂
Also good to know not all grasses/hay are equal either. Some grasses and hays are very high sugar, (e.g. Lucerne/alfalfa and kikuyu) and the sugar content fluctuates during the day and season. Some grasses are oxalated and stop calcium absorption and the animal will begin to leach calcium from their bones if they're not getting proper calcium and phosphorus ratio supplementation. So it's good to also know what type of grass and hays you're feeding. All your Hays and grasses have different mineral and vitamin content also, and too much of anything is never good either (e.g. too much calcium can lead to kidney stones etc)
I love how all the Tortoises follow you around the compound when you enter their area
I love how they all cluster around your feet waiting for snacks
I would like to learn more about deworming please and thanks for all your help with our tortoise questions!!!
