  • This is another video in my series “Walks in Hampshire” accompanied by my Whippet (Logan). In this episode I take a 4.5 mile circular route from the pretty village of Barton Stacey (located 7 miles to the South East of Andover in Hampshire).
I start my walk by exploring the Church of All Saints before discussing the history of the village and looking at the old pub, shop & beautiful houses in the main street.
My route then takes me North along a delightful country lane with breathtaking views of fields & crops to follow the banks of the River Dever. The lane brings me to the hamlet of Bransbury, past of stunning ancient Mill and a small bridge over the river.
I then head South through Bransbury Common - a Site of Special Scientific Interest - where I see hundreds of butterflies and hazel trees. I then spend some time by a pretty ford that crosses the River Dever before heading back to Barton Stacey via an old Roman Road and paths across fields.
A truly wonderful walk in spectacular countryside in glorious weather.

It is amazing how many pretty little villages there are in that part of Hampshire - each with their own characteristics.

Nice, relaxing walk Dave. I’m trying hard to get up to date with your videos. Actually, I quite like Bransbury. Used to call at a couple of the properties there to pick up the ride-on mowers

Butterfly heaven! That's a sweet spot to seek out. It would be something to see one of those parachute landing zones raining troops. If the jumps are done once a month maybe you'll be lucky enough to catch one some time.

    • @DaveFord
      @DaveFord  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

Yes indeed. I might be going back to that area for a walk on the Southern side so it would be good to time it with parachute jumping.

@@DaveFord If you're technical minded enough to add 'Ride of the Valkyries' for backing music that would be a hit with the Paras. They might even take up some of your walks as running routes!

Just had a lovely evening watching your videos Dave.
    Butterfly Heaven so appropriate
I’ve never seen so many different species in one area.
You were very lucky to have come upon this spectacular show of colour.
Did you change the music for this film?
I do a lot of audio visual at my local photography society and I wanted to ask who is the musician is that accompanies your usual videos?
I hope you don’t mind me asking you these questions.
Keep the walks coming and a pat on the head for Logan.

Thank you Leslie. I just use music from the TH-cam Audio Library off the internet (it is free to download & indeed royalty free!). I tend to chose from about 8 clips. Two are by Chris Haugen (Firefly & Tupelo Train), Two are by The 126ers (Rainy Sundays & Lovely Afternoon Breeze). Sunny Looks on You is by Midnight North. The other 3 I am not sure as I downloaded the clips & renamed them - losing their original names. Hope that helps. :)

      @@DaveFord Thank you Dave
I found the tracks on TH-cam as you told me. I never realised there was so many to choose from. I will be using a couple for my next audio visual.
      Thank you.
