Funny how the PSP and DS version are basically the same.
Usually we see the PSP receiving the ports of the console consoles but for some reason that doesn't happen with the Lego games. (I remember that on PS Vita it also received the same 3DS version instead of the Wii or PS3 versions)

It used to be like the regular consoles, but since Lego Indiana Jones 2 they started using the DS demakes for PSP aswell. Propably because console versions jumped the generation at that point.

@@thereddragonhunter3526 I don't think that would've worked. The PSP is basically an underpowered ps2. PS2 is a 6th gent console. the WII on the other hand is a 7th gen console and a slightly overclocked gamecube (6th gen). The gamecube was already stronger than the PS2 so I don't think the psp could've handled games that were made for a console that surpasses the console it's trying to mimic. like psp games are worse but decently passable ps2 games on a portable device. they only look decent bc the screen is so small.

@@watagree Check out Silent Hill Shattered Memories. It's a game developed for Wii that was later ported to PSP and PS2. The PSP version looks phenomenal. And besides, Lego Harry Potter Years 1-4 isn't exactly a graphical marvel for the Wii.

I personally like the Xbox 360 version the best, it honestly looks really good considering it’s age! Also I grew up with that one so there’s some nostalgia bias there too lol. The Switch version looks pretty good as well though!

I just got this game for the Switch after years of only playing it on the Wii. The difference is NIGHT AND DAY, it’s absolutely incredible. Also, I never knew those earlier PSP and DS versions existed. Neat!

It sucks that they decided to up port the ds version to the psp rather than down porting the wii version. Considering lego star wars and batman, the psp absolutely could have handled a down port

@@I_Drive87 the PSP is very comparable to the PS2 in power. The PSP actually has higher single core performance than the PS2. It's gpu is more efficient too. Plus the ram is 4x faster and there's more of it.
There's no reason that the Wii version couldn't have been ported to the PSP. Obviously they'd need to sacrifice a lot of visual fidelity to make it work but that's no different to any other PSP port.
Other Wii games were ported to PSP.
Dirt 2, star wars the force unleashed, the Simpsons video game, spiderman 3. Hell even the non Lego version of Harry Potter and the goblet of fire was ported to the PSP using the Wii version as the base.
