indeed, but they needed to give an unstable later metabolite that the vitamin D that you eat as supplements gets metabolized to in your body. A big dose of vitamin D3 would not produce enough of the active metabolite fast enough.

I would expect his condition to deteriorate in the coming days to the point that his hubris can't conceal . It's clear some damage has occurred. Given his age and risk factors even the best of care has it's limitations. We would hope for a full recovery elusive as it may be.
