    Thank you so much for the education on these studies. I'm so grateful for you! You have given me the knowledge necessary to ask my doctor for HRT. I'm 53, plant-based for over 10 years and have recently started on HRT and all because of you! Like most women, I was afraid of HRT, but with the education I have gained, I see a bright future ahead for me. Thank you from the bottom of my heart!

    Thanks for all the amazing, unbiased, science based information you are so willing to provide.
    I didn't know what was wrong with me and the many, many health providers could not figure it out either (gynecologist, neurologist, cardiologist, psychiatrist, dermatologist, rheumatologist, alternative medicine, etc.). Finally I asked my GP if I could try estrogen and started watching your videos. My GP put me on pill form and I felt like I was on a roller coaster. I found a knowledgeable gynecologist and she immediately switched me to gel and I am very slowly coming back to me. Your videos have helped me to understand so much. Heart disease is a heavy hitter on both sides of my family, so I am glad I was not outside the window of opportunity for starting estrogen.
    I was misdiagnosed with ADHD, Lyme Disease, anxiety, depression, irregular heart beat, IBS, fibromyalgia and probably many things I have now forgotten! The amount and different medications I have been on is unreal.
    Thanks again Dr. Taylor!

    Every video of yours is SO important! I just wish I discovered your channel 3-5 years ago. From my experience, doctors don’t even want to test your hormone levels in your menopause and post menopause. I had to BEG my gynecologist to test my estrogen and progesterone levels when ultrasound came back with thickened uterus at 9 mm. They just want to keep us uninformed and sick.

    • @MenopauseTaylor
      @MenopauseTaylor  ปีที่แล้ว

      But testing your hormone levels is completely worthless.
      In peri-menopause, they are on a complete chaotic rollerccoaster.
      In post-menopause, they're absent, zero, kaput.
      If you ever have a consultation with me, you'll discover how to go about all things pertaining to your menopause management correctly.

  • @Marsolan
    @Marsolan 4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    Wonderful presentation. You moved some serious mountains of data here!! Saying thank you just does not seems enough to express our gratitude!
    I have a question. The window of opportunity refers to a 5-10 years window then HRT can still be beneficial. But someone could be 3-5 postmenopausal but have several risk factors for heart disease, in addition to being menopausal, and might have already developed atherosclerosis. Should atherosclerosis be ruled out while HRT is being considered? Thank you!

    • @MenopauseTaylor
      @MenopauseTaylor  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You're really starting to connect the dots, Marina. That's what an education is all about.
      The estrogen window is really about the aging process itself and how well or how poorly you have aged on the inside. So, in a consultation, I help you assess your status to determine if you are a good candidate for HRT, regardless of how long you've been without estrogen. So many women discover that they are still eligible for HRT if that's what they want.
      Don't hesitate to schedule a consultation if you want me to do this with you.
      So, some women are still great candidates for starting HRT even after 15 or 20 years without estrogen. Their benefits outweigh their risks because their heart arteries have not developed atherosclerosis.
      Other women are poor candidates for starting HRT after just 3 - 5 years without HRT. Their risks outweigh their benefits because their heart arteries have developed so much atherosclerosis that they just can't take what used to be good for them.

She was reluctant to give blood test for Hormone levels. I did have bone density test that showed bone loss ostopoenia.

    After watching this video, I am now questioning my use of HRT. I’m a healthy menopausal woman, who went on HRT within a year of menopause. (55). During this time I also had a physical to look at all my cholesterol numbers. I was in the low risk group. However I went ahead and got a calcium scan because I have heart disease in my family. It came back saying I had moderate buildup (267). I am now on a statin, but still taking HRT. Should I reconsider taking HRT? I’m confused.

      Mary Ellingson I’d love to know this too. I’m in a similar boat. I was getting ready to start HRT but they found calcium in my arteries. Now I’m unsure. I’m 6 years post menopause and terrified.

      I wish I knew the answer. It’s hard to know who to listen to. I did read a study online that said they did see an advantage of taking HRT with mild to moderate calcium scores, but there were still looking at all the factors. My doctor says it’s good to take given my history. I would like to hear what Barbi thinks. I’m thinking of doing a personal consult. Sometimes I think I should just get off everything and stop listening to everyone !!

    Thank you for making these videos. I started HRT in July and after a month of HRT, I started vaginal bleeding During my 3rd month control, my doctor asked me to wait 3 more months to give my body time to adjust to HRT. Can I ask what is the reason for bleeding and what are the different treatment options?

    • @theoneandonlypinkypinky8245
      @theoneandonlypinkypinky8245 5 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      I am sure Dr Barbie would get back to you. But I want to share my experience. I am on Climara a bio identical estradiol. I tried every form of bio-identical Progesterone. I had severe bleeding for months. I found out I am allergic to Progesterone so I have to take a Progetin.I never thought bleeding was due to an allergy and it took me months to get a proper diagnosis because I had to try them all. But though I am still on the Climara patch I am taking a Progestin. So it doesn't have to be a sinister reason to cause bleeding.

    • @MenopauseTaylor
      @MenopauseTaylor  5 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Think about it Kamala:
      Your uterus has ALWAYS responded to estrogen and progesterone with bleeding! Why would it be any different with HRT?
      If the bleeding continues, it just means that the particular products you are taking are not the perfect products FOR YOU.
      If you want me to help you understand everything and find the best options for your particular situation, schedule a consultation with me. I'll make everything a whole lot easier.
      This is precisely the kind of thing for which I do one-on-one consultations. No two women are alike, and addressing your situation requires tailoring all the facts specifically to YOU.
      I'm in the business of educating you about everything you need to know and do in order to get exactly what you want for managing your menopause your way. So, here's how a consultation works:
      1) You would schedule a one-on-one consultation at my website, MenopauseTaylor.ME, choosing a time that is convenient for you. I do consultations on Skype, FaceTime. Facebook Messenger, What’s App, and the phone.
      2) I would send you an email to confirm that you are scheduled for the stated time, and invite you to send me as much information about yourself as you please. You can make it brimming with details and tell me about your reproductive life, any gynecologic problems you've had, your symptoms of peri-menopause, and your symptoms of post-menopause. You can include all your fears, concerns, and goals for your menopause management. You may also send me any labs, mammogram results, bone density results, etc. that you would like me to include in designing your protocol. For instance, if you want to adhere to a certain category of management options (herbs or diet & lifestyle, or whatever), you should tell me that. I will give you a deadline for sending all materials, and will not accept anything after that date.
      3) I'll get busy creating a document that gives you all the education you need to understand absolutely everything, points out the pros and cons of each option, and tailors it all to YOU, using the information you have provided. The document will be loooooong. Most are over 30 pages.
      4) I will send you the document by email 48 hours before your consultation. You will benefit greatly by reading it in advance. Light bulbs will go off like crazy, and if you're like most women, you'll feel that you've already gotten your money's worth.
      5) During your consultation, we will review the document and address any issues you want in order to fine tune everything and determine your best options. I'll tell you exactly how to find the right kind of professional, how to have the conversation in order to get what you want, and the nuances of things like guidelines and insurance. I leave nothing unaddressed.
      6) You will go to a professional of your choosing in order to get the actual hormones or whatever you choose to use.
      7) After the first consultation, I'll hold your hand (forever if you want me to). In other words, you'll be able to schedule mini-consultations (15-minute or 30-minute, in addition to full consultations) whenever you need to. I'll keep records of your situation. Most women schedule mini-consultation whenever they go to the doctor and don't understand what he or she said, or why. I translate. I make sense of everything. Most schedule mini-consultation whenever they have a new test and they want me to explain the results. And all schedule mini-consultation whenever their situation changes and they need to re-weigh and re-balance their options.
      The time you spend with me will make everything about working with any other professional so easy. And they will love the fact that you have an actual education rather than a bunch of misconceptions that you got from the Internet. If your initial hormone regimen is not right, you'll want to consult with me before going to your doctor. I can prepare you for what to expect and what to request.
      So, that's my role. And nobody else on earth does this kind of thing but me. So, I hope you schedule a consultation and let me hold your hand (figuratively).
      I hope to meet you soon!

    Love your channel but I’m still fairly new to it! I have high blood pressure, that is being treated which I know can be a cause of heart issues! But does that make me not eligible for HRT? I’m not sure how someone knows if they do or don’t have heart disease? I want to start HRT but I’m so scared.

      Welcome aboard to "Menopause Taylor University." You'll find that if you start at the very first video (going by the number after each title), you'll understand absolutely everything. You'll be shocked at what you didn't know, and delighted that now you do know.
      Each video builds on the last. It's just like school: You had to learn the alphabet before you could read. And nowadays, there are so many overwhelming misconceptions that women mistake as facts ... that you just don't know what you don't know.
      I respond to all comments here on TH-cam daily. So, I will answer all your questions ... but I'll also know if you aren't watching the videos in order. (I'm like your mother. I have eyes in the back of my head!)
      And if you need me to help you tailor anything to your personal situation, you can schedule a one-on-one consultation at MenopauseTaylor.ME any time. I do them all online.
      As for your question: This is precisely the kind of thing for which I do one-on-one consultations. You definitely need one. I cannot tailor things specifically to you in a comment box. It requires much more information than you can give me here, and you deserve much more information than I can give you here. No two women are alike, and addressing your situation requires tailoring all the facts specifically to YOU. I do them all via online video conferencing. You can schedule at MenopauseTaylor.ME. I look forward to meeting you and helping you.

    Hi. Is it risky to stay on HRT into your 60’s? I am 50, peri-menopausal and looking into HRT now. But if I have to come off in my 60’s, will these awful symptoms I.e. UTI’s, lack of sleep, skin problems, depression etc come back for good until the end of my natural life which could be another 30 years? Also, will the risks associated with lack of oestrogen, i.e. heart attack, dementia, fractures, also come back? Thanks.

    • @MenopauseTaylor
      @MenopauseTaylor  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Always go back to basics.
      How long would you take insulin replacement if your pancreas stopped producing insulin? And what would happen if you did stop taking insulin?
      the basic science of all hormone deficiencies is the same. Unfortunately, estrogen replacement is the only on for which there is fear rather than facts running the show.
      If you want me to help you assess everything specifically as it pertains to YOU, just schedule a consultation with me at MenopauseTaylor.ME. Everything has to be tailored to YOU in order to do what's right FOR YOU. I do them all online.

      @@MenopauseTaylor Sorry, I don’t understand sometimes. So are you saying it’s perfectly ok to remain on HRT for the rest of my life if I want to? I just read somewhere it’s risky to stay on it after your 60’s. Is that a fallacy then?

    • @MenopauseTaylor

      @@smileygirl1742 You can do whatever you want. This education empowers you to make your own decisions.
      My goal is to manage your expectations. And it's simple: If you stop taking estrogen replacement (at any age), all the symptoms of estrogen deficiency and diseases of estrogen deficiency (heart attack, osteoporosis, and Alzheimer's) will return or progress.
      It's no different than any other hormone replacement.

      @@MenopauseTaylor I see. So would you personally feel ok to stay on it into your 60’s and 70’s? Are there studies showing it is just as safe as when you are in your 40’s and 50’s? I might be confused, I’ve read so much by you and others recently! I thought I read it is definitely not safe into your 60’s and 70’s. Is that wrong? Thanks so much for your responses.

    Hello and thank you for everything you do to educate us. If this has already been addressed in one of the videos, I apologize. I recently did a saliva test for my hormones. My progesterone and estradiol was very low and estrone was in mid range. I understand that estrone is the bad estrogen, I am 45, still menstruating every 23 days, gaining weight rapidly and am very anxious/depressed. My question is would it be wise to start on hrt now given my age and that I'm still menstruating? AFTER taking the test, I have been using estrogen and progesterone cream that are otc and I do seem to be feeling some better, but that may be placebo effect.
